Everything You Need To Know About Disney’s NEW Cruise Ship

Diney Cruise Line has just launched its seventh ship, and after spending three nights on board my verdict is that this might just be Disney’s best ship yet.

Disney Destiny is the seventh ship to join the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. She’s also a mould-breaker, as it’s the first time Disney Cruise Line has added a third ship to an existing class – prior classes only ever had two!

Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage was on 20th November 2025 (although I was invited on a special preview cruise for the press just before that). If you want to know more about this exciting new ship, and what makes her SO special, then read on as I have all the details for you…

What To Expect Onboard the Disney Destiny

Disney Destiny brings together some of the most popular features from Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, but she also introduces a huge number of brand-new spaces that you won’t find on any other Disney ship.

With an overall theme centred around Heroes & Villains, the Destiny feels like a playful tug-of-war between good and evil – in the best possible way. Expect bold storytelling, vibrant entertainment, and clever nods to Disney classics at every turn.

Disney Destiny Grand Hall

The ship is designed with families in mind, but adults will find plenty of exclusive lounges, bars, and quiet spaces too.

Whether you’re cruising with toddlers, teens, grandparents, or no kids at all, the Destiny has a fantastic mix of experiences for everyone.

The Perfect Size

Disney Destiny has a tonnage of 144,000 GT, a length of 1,119 feet and a height of 221 feet, with 14 guest decks in total. Her beam measures 128 feet and her draft is 27 feet.

Cruise Mummy with Disney Destiny

She carries around 4,000 guests and 1,555 crew members, placing her firmly alongside the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure as one of the largest ships in the fleet.

These three Wish-class sisters will hold the title of Disney Cruise Line’s biggest ships until the first Global-class ship, Disney Adventure, arrives – that’s due in March 2026.

What’s Different About The Destiny

Here’s a look at the major new venues and features debuting on Disney Destiny…

1. Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King

Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King

Exclusive to Disney Destiny, Pride Lands is a full musical theatre show that just so happens to serve dinner.

It retells Simba’s entire journey from cub to king, with a live cast performing right in the middle of the dining room. There’s music, dancing, costumes, special lighting, and even magical silhouettes that appear on the walls during certain moments.

The setting is beautiful – windows look out onto a “savanna” that shifts from sunrise to sunset, and the soundtrack makes you feel like you’re right in the Pride Lands.

The food is some of the most flavourful you’ll find on any Disney ship, with African-inspired dishes.

Even the drinks are themed – including “Can You Feel the Rum Tonight?” which is exactly as fun as it sounds.

If you’re sailing for five nights or more, you’ll get a second night with an alternate menu.

2. Edna A La Mode Sweets Shop

Edna Mode has transformed her fashion lab into the ship’s dessert shop and it really is incredible! The whole place is a playful nod to The Incredibles, from Edna’s sketches and tiny superhero suits to the futuristic sewing machines that now whip up desserts instead of capes.

The treats are wonderfully over-the-top. It serves gelato, fancy popsicles, Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums and an entire line-up of cakes.

Everything here costs extra, but honestly, you’ll want to step inside the moment you walk past.

3. De Vil’s Lounge

De Vil’s Piano Lounge

This adults-only lounge is pure Cruella – glamorous, bold and a little bit wicked. It’s all black, white and red, with a spotted piano at the centre and a cocktail menu full of dramatic presentations.

The Fashionista comes in the shape of a mirror tray with make-up. It’s all edible, including the Champagne perfume spray, the lipstick and the powder puff of edible glitter!

And yes, Cruella does sometimes appear in person… and she will drag you into whatever nonsense she’s up to!

4. The Sanctum

The Sanctum

The Sanctum is an adults-only bar that inspired by Doctor Strange, and walking in feels like you’ve stepped straight into the Sorcerer Supreme’s private chamber.

The lighting gives everything a wonderfully mystical vibe and the circular “window” mirrors the one from the films, so it’s instantly recognisable.

The cocktails here are just magical. Some light up when you touch them, others come with bubbles and smoke, and some even hover in the air! I’ve no idea how.

During the day, the space is used for trivia and activities, but once the sun sets it transforms into a an adults-only bar with live music and good vibes.

5. Hercules – The New Broadway-Style Stage Show

Hercules on Stage

Making its Disney Cruise Line debut, Hercules is the ship’s brand-new signature musical – and it is spectacular.

The Muses guide the story with plenty of sass, humour and gospel-inspired energy. Fans will hear all the iconic songs from the film, plus a newly included track called “Shooting Star” that was originally written for the movie but never used.

The staging is seriously impressive, mixing classical Greek architecture with sleek modern effects.

And yes – there’s puppetry. Big puppetry. Hercules takes on a massive hydra in a sequence that had the entire preview audience gasping.

6. New Character Interactions

Me with Hero Minnie

Destiny’s “Heroes & Villains” theme isn’t just décor – it comes alive around the ship. You can meey the characters at the official meet and greets, but they also pop-up in the Grand Hall as well as the kids clubs.

You might bump into:

• Black Panther
• Spider-Man
• Hero Minnie in her exclusive new outfit
• Loki
• Cruella de Vil
• Maleficent
• Dr. Facilier

These aren’t quick shuffle-you-through meet-and-greets either. What I loved is how playful and spontaneous the interactions are – especially with the villains, who fully commit to causing a bit of mischief.

7. AquaMouse – Sing a Silly Song

Aquamouse

Disney’s signature water coaster returns with a whole new storyline built just for Destiny.

This time, you’re joining Mickey and Minnie on a journey up “Villain Mountain”, where iconic Disney villains appear at every turn.

Except… things never go quite how the villains expect. Each encounter results in a joking twist that leads into a silly sing-along – very classic Disney slapstick.

There are brand-new animated scenes, custom music written just for the ride, and amazing views as your raft zooms around 760 feet of tubing high above the ship.

It’s goofy (lower case ‘g’), chaotic, slightly ridiculous – and absolutely brilliant.

8. Cask & Cannon

Cask & Cannon

What’s better than a pub on a ship? A pirate-themed pub on a ship!

This wonderfully atmospheric pub is inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Disney Parks, and it leans fully into that adventurous, cheeky pirate spirit.

It’s warm, cosy, and exactly the sort of place Jack Sparrow would stumble into and cause a scene. And if you’re lucky, he might even pop in while you’re there!

The drink list is one of the highlights here. There are vintage rums, nautical-inspired cocktails, and a selection of “bootlegged brews” created specially for this bar – some of which are poured straight from the barrel for that extra bit of pirate flair.

9. Café Megara and Café Merida

Café Merida

Disney Destiny has two charming walk-up cafés, each themed to a different Disney heroine and both located just off the Grand Hall.

Café Merida channels the warm, rustic feel of Brave. You’ll spot Celtic motifs, touches of Scottish heritage, and subtle references to Merida’s family throughout the space.

Café Megara is inspired by Hercules, with a chic Greco-disco look – lavender tones, marble details, and little nods to Greek mythology tucked around the room.

The menus includes classic drinks along with a few exclusives like the Highland Frappe and Shortbread Latte.

Disney coffee

These are open throughout the day and makes a perfect quick stop on your way to your next adventure. Both cafés are small, beautifully themed, and ideal for grabbing a quiet moment – or a very photogenic coffee.

Returning Favourites

As well as all of these new and exciting features, there are a host of returning favourites too, including:

  • 1923 – an upscale dining venue that reflects the heritage of Disney animation
  • Worlds of Marvel– the Guardians of the Galaxy dinner show returns, this time with Rocket, Groot and plenty of interactive mischief.
  • The Walt Disney Theatre – with returning shows Frozen and Disney Seas the Adventure alongside the Hercules show.
  • Hero Zone – a sports and recreation area
  • Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas – showing first-run films from Disney and its subsidiary studios
  • Quiet Cove – an adults-only relaxation spot with an infinity pool and pool bar
  • Dining venue favourites such as Palo Steakhouse and Enchante by Chef Arnaud Lallement
  • Disney’s Oceaneer Club – the kids’ clubs on the ship, including:
    • Marvel Super Hero Academy – where guests can interact with heroes and train as the next generation of superheroes
    • Fairytale Hall – an activity room where young guests can sometimes meet princesses
    • Imagineering Lab – a fun space full of interactive hands-on experiences and experiments
    • Star Wars: Cargo Bay – where young adventurers can take on the role of creature handlers for some of the galaxy’s most unique animals

Disney Destiny Staterooms and Suites

Disney Destiny Stateroom

The staterooms on Disney Destiny continue the Wish-class tradition of beautifully themed accommodation – but this time, everything ties back to the ship’s bold Heroes & Villains concept.

Across the 1,256 staterooms onboard, you’ll find custom artworks featuring characters such as Hercules, Mulan, Merida, the Muses, Maleficent, and more. Even the colour palettes have been chosen to reflect moments of light and dark in each character’s story.

Incredibles artwork

As with the other Wish-class ships, 84% of staterooms on Disney Destiny offer an ocean view, with 70% also having a private verandah. Many sleep up to five guests, and there are more than 450 connecting-door options too, making it really easy for larger families to spread out across two rooms.

Up in the Concierge and Royal Suite categories, the theming gets even more luxurious. These suites draw inspiration from some of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains, and if you’re looking for a more elevated experience, these rooms definitely deliver it.

Disney Destiny Tower Suite (Category 1A)

The showstopper accommodation on Disney Destiny is the stunning Tower Suite, tucked inside the ship’s forward funnel. There’s only one of these onboard – and it’s every bit as jaw-dropping as the versions on Disney Wish and Disney Treasure.

The whole suite has been designed with an Avengers-inspired aesthetic – sleek lines, metallic accents, and subtle Stark-tech vibes that make you feel like you’ve borrowed Tony Stark’s holiday home for a few nights.

And the price? Depending on the sailing and the time of year, you’re looking at anywhere from $30,000 to $100,000 for a three- or four-night cruise…

Disney Destiny Itineraries

Disney Destiny homeports in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and she offers a really exciting mix of short Bahamas getaways and longer Caribbean adventures.

Whether you’re looking for a quick three-night break or a full week at sea, there’s plenty of choice – including several sailings that visit both of Disney’s private islands.

Me at Castaway Cay with Disney Destiny

Most itineraries include stops at Disney Castaway Cay or the brand-new Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point (and in many cases, both!), along with visits to classic ports like Nassau, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica.
