A Look at the 7 Cruise Ships Being Added to Carnival’s Fleet

Carnival Cruise Line currently has 27 cruise ships in service, the second most out of all the cruise lines in the world.

Carnival Cruise Line cruise ship

Over the next nine years, Carnival Cruise Line will have at least seven more ships added to their fleet. This not only includes newbuilds and a new class of ships, but also some moving over from a sister cruise line.

These seven new ships include:

  • Two moving over from P&O Cruises Australia
  • Two more Excel class ships
  • Three new 230,000 gross ton mega ships

Here is a look at the seven ships being added to Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet.

Two Ships From P&O Cruises Australia

Pacific Adventure will be one of two P&O Cruises Australia ships converted over to Carnival Cruise Line

In March, Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter will go into dry dock and be converted over to Carnival Funships. This is part of Carnival Corporation’s plan to dissolve their P&O Cruises Australia brand.

The cruise ships will continue to offer the same itineraries as they do now, but with entertainment and favorites that Carnival cruise passengers as used to.

However, some of the dining and shows from the P&O Cruises Australia brand will remain since the ships will continue to sail from Australia.

When they enter Carnival’s fleet, the ships will be renamed Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter.

Both cruise ships originally started sailing under sister cruise line Princess Cruises before moving over to P&O Cruises Australia in 2020. Pacific Adventure was Golden Princess and Pacific Encounter sailed as Star Princess.

Both ships are just under 109,000 gross tons in size and are Grand class vessels.

Two Excel Class Ships

Carnival Cruise Line Excel class
The Excel class from Carnival Cruise Line

Excel class cruise ships were the first to have a roller coaster on the top deck. Carnival Cruise Line currently has three in their fleet (Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee) with an order for two more.

The class is currently the largest in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet and all three ships sail to the Caribbean.

Carnival has an order for two more Excel class ships, with one debuting in 2027 and the second a year later in 2028.

The cruise line has yet to release the names and homeports for these two new ships. Both vessels will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

4th Excel Class Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2027
  • 5,400 passengers
  • 183,900 gross tons

5th Excel Class Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2028
  • 5,400 passengers
  • 183,900 gross tons

Three New Mega Ships

Project Pinnacle was a cruise ship prototype from Carnival Cruise Line that was going to be over 200,000 gross tons in size. The project was scrapped years ago.

Over 20 years ago, Carnival was working on a new ship prototype that would be the largest in the world and the first over 200,000 gross tons in size. The cruise line decided not to build the ship and concentrate on ships in the 110,000 to 130,000 GT range.

Fast forward a couple decades and Carnival Cruise Line will finally build cruise ships over 200,000 gross tons. Last July, Carnival Corporation announced an order for three new mega cruise ships that will be nearly 230,000 gross tons.

The first will debut in the summer of 2029 with a new one coming out every two years after through 2033.

Carnival Cruise Line has yet to give any many details about these ships, but they will be built by Fincantieri in Italy and be powered by LNG.

Carnival said that a focus for these new ships will be innovative guest experiences that will take the cruise line into the future. They will also have “FUN features” that will be announced at a later date.

1st Mega Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2029
  • 6,200 passengers
  • 230,000 gross tons

2nd Mega Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2031
  • 6,200 passengers
  • 230,000 gross tons

3rd Mega Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2033
  • 6,200 passengers
  • 230,000 gross tons

Cruise Fever will have all details on these new cruise ships from Carnival when they are announced.

Carnival Cruise Line Cracks Down on “Buy Me a Drink” Practice: “Strictly Forbidden”

Carnival has recently put out word that a certain “buy me a drink” practice is not allowed on their ships and is “strictly forbidden”.

Our free cruise newsletter offers the latest news and deals: Sign Up

Carnival Cruise Ship Celebration in port

Cruise lines are always adapting their rules and policies as new technologies and practices become popular.

And even if these practices are not common on every cruise, they try to “nip it in the bud” before it does become common place.

Sometimes, items that were once allowed on ships get added to the “banned list” after being misused as well.

Bluetooth speakers used to be allowed on cruise ships until they caused a commotion in public spaces like pool decks and lobbies.  Now, Carnival does not allow them.

Carnival Asked About “Buy Me a Drink” Practice

Another practice that started more as a joke is now in the spotlight.

Some passengers have been putting signs on their cabin doors or on their t-shirts that say “Buy me a drink” with a QR code for Venmo or other payment processor.

Although it started as a lighthearted meme, one Carnival fan decided to ask the cruise line’s brand ambassador about the practice.

The person asked,

“John Heald, what are your thoughts about cruisers who post a sign on their cabin door or hand out flyers with a Venmo asking for people to send money for drinks? Does Carnival have a rule about that?”

Venmo is a mobile payment app that allows people to quickly transfer money to someone else.  Users can send or receive money with a phone number or email address, and the app has become fairly common in the public sphere.

Heald Says It’s “Strictly Forbidden”

But Heald was straight to the point in saying that this practice was simple not permitted on Carnival cruise ships.

Absolutely, we do. It is strictly forbidden,” he wrote. “If you have details of anybody doing this, would you please let me know those details now, and I will take care of it immediately. The solicitation of guests by guests is strictly forbidden. Thank you so much and I will be here to help so please send me the details,” Heald responded.

While it might seem overly strict to those who post these signs as a joke, Carnival has the policy in place to protect passengers from potential scams.

The cruise line also doesn’t want to provide an environment where soliciting money can make others uncomfortable.

Time will tell how this policy is enforced.  Lines tend to get blurred when things are done as a joke.

Ultimately, the cruise line has stated in the past that their goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all passengers, and the direct way in which this question seems to reflect that.

18 Carnival cruise ships are scheduled to visit Celebration Key on over 500 itineraries. You can see a list of all of these cruises here.

Once the port opens and is completed, Carnival Cruise Line has plans for a Phase 2 that includes a water park.

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island

Royal Beach Club Nassau

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island is the first of two new beach clubs being built by Royal Caribbean. It is currently under construction in Nassau on Paradise Island and is scheduled to open near the end of the year.

This private Oasis will be for Royal Caribbean passengers only. The entry fee to access the beach club includes all food and drinks, making it an all-inclusive beach and pool day. A short water shuttle will take guests from the pier right to the club.

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island will have the world’s largest swim-up bar.

The world’s largest swim-up bar will be located at the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island.

The beach club will be divided up in the following three zones:

  • Family Beach
  • Chill Beach
  • Party Cove

The Family Beach will be located steps away from the Shallow End zero-entry pool. Beach games will range from tug-of-war to paddle ball.

The Ultimate Family Cabana will have a thrilling slide, dedicated hot tub, frozen drink machine and more.

The Chill Beach will be the spot for relaxation on Paradise Island. The Deep End of the pool will be by the white, powdery sand of Chill Beach.

Artist rendering of the Royal Beach Club in Nassau.

Party Cove will live up to its name, the place to keep the party vibes going. It will have the world’s largest swim-up bar, a VIP space, and personal poolside service with the best views.

This 17 acre beach club will have three swim-up bars, seven beach bars, and more than 40 cabanas.

Royal Caribbean is working on the project with the Bahamian government to bring architectural design and experience that includes live music, local artisan shops and culinary fare.

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island is scheduled to open in December 2025.

The cruise line is also working on a Royal Beach Club in Cozumel that will open at a later date.

Our free cruise newsletter offers the latest news and deals: Sign Up

Here’s everything you need to know about Relaxaway, Half Moon Cay, so you can make the most of your day at this favorite cruise port.

half moon cay things to do

Relaxaway, Half Moon Cay (Little San Salvador Island) is a crescent-shaped, cruise line private island owned by Carnival Cruise Line and used seasonally by Holland America Line.

Carnival cruise ships make over 200 stops a year at this picturesque private resort, and it’s one of the most popular stops for cruises in the Bahamas.

A cruise to Half Moon Cay is the highlight of the voyage for many and offers the perfect beach day to cruise passengers. With a variety of cruise shore excursions to choose from this is a private island with something for everyone.

This port of call has won the title of “Best Private Island” 20 years in a row by the Porthole cruise magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. And for good reason. A visit to Half Moon Cay is a visit to paradise.

Changes Upcoming to Half Moon Cay

Carnival Corporation recently announced plans to build a pier and a separate section on Half Moon Cay just for Carnival cruise ships.

The island was renamed Relaxaway, Half Moon Cay in support of the big expansion coming to the island.

The pier will be able to accommodate the largest Carnival cruise ships and it’s expected to open in 2026.

Holland America Line ships will continue to use the current tender system and port.

What Is There to Do at Half Moon Cay?

In this post we will guide you through the best things to do on the island and give you more than enough reasons to get off the ship.

Swimming, snorkeling, diving, deep-sea fishing, parasailing, sunbathing, and horseback riding are just a few of the excursions you can enjoy on Half Moon Cay. Our full list is below.

There is a straw market on Half Moon Cay where residents from nearby islands will come and sell some souvenirs and local goods. While this can be a convenient place to pick up some gifts for people back home, keep in mind that it’s not a very big market, and it has limited variety.

But if you want to do some shopping, this is the place on the island to do it.

Where’s the dock? Well, there isn’t one right now. You will have to take tenders back and forth from your ship, but it’s a short 15 or 20-minute boat ride on some of the most pristine water you will ever see. Just look at it as a free excursion.

Once on the island you will see an entrance saying “Welcome to the Pirates Cove”, and the pirate theme is very evident on this 2,400 acre island.

Some Information About Half Moon Cay

First, let’s learn a little about this private island before we get into all the wonderful things you can do here.

Located almost 100 miles southeast of Nassau, Bahamas, Half Moon Cay is one of 700 islands that make of the archipelago of the Bahamas.

The island is over 6 square miles in size, but only about 2% has been developed in order to maintain as much wildlife and natural fauna as possible. Many cruisers don’t realize that there is more to Little San Salvador than just the heavenly beaches.

Is Food Included at Half Moon Cay?

Yes. Whether you are sailing with Carnival or Holland America there is a free buffet at the dining pavilion that offers a variety of food, including Caribbean barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, and more. We’ll talk about this more below.

Ultimate List of Things to Do in Half Moon Cay

Check out some of the excursions and free activities I recommend when cruising to this exotic patch of land.

 1.  Visit Half Moon Beach

Some have called this beach the closest thing to an untouched Bahamas that you can find. Not only is it clean, beautiful, and accommodating, but there are convenient places nearby to get a refreshment or use the facilities.

The sand is fine and soft, and Half Moon Beach is the first thing you will see as your tender approaches the island. There are usually plenty of loungers to choose from, but the further down the beach you walk the less crowded it will be.

This can be a great excursion-free visit, and you don’t have to worry about any pushy vendors trying to sell you souvenirs while you relax. There are, however, plenty of Carnival or Holland America staff nearby to help with any issues you may have. If you need some beach time on your cruise, this is definitely the place to enjoy it.

If you get off the ship early you will find plenty of loungers available, but the area of the beach closest to the tenders will fill up fast as the day rolls on.

You can rent a clam shell so you have some shade at the beach, but you will want to book that in advance to make sure they aren’t all taken. There are a few trees that offer shade further down the beach, but they also require that you are further away from the water.

Half Moon Beach is about 2 miles long but there are about 10 miles of beach around the island.

2.  Enjoy Captain Morgan’s Pirate Ship

The iconic Captain Morgan pirate ship can easily be seen from your ship before you ever get to the Carnival private island. Go ahead and check it out. There are 3 levels to the ship. The bottom 2 levels are part of the bar and the top deck allows for great photo-ops of the ship and the pristine blue water.

No trip to Half Moon Cay is complete without boarding the Captain Morgan and bellowing out a few of your best pirate-impersonating expressions.

Note:  There are 3 other bars on the island as well, including the main bar near the Welcome Center and the “I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever” bar which also makes for a great photo-op.

half moon cay things to do

3.  Go All-in on a Private Beach Villa

Some of the coolest cabanas in the Bahamas can be found on this private island. But if you want the ultimate in beach-front luxury you can upgrade to the Beach Villa.

These are 2-story cabins, brightly colored and perfectly fitted for a reprieve for your day at the beach. These villas have a 5-person hot tub, A/C, a refrigerator, a dining area, a misting shower, and a private balcony on both levels.

Fresh fruit, veggies, chips, and snacks will be provided for you as well as soft drinks and bottled water.

Even floating mats and snorkel gear are provided for you while you have this villa to your group all day.

All of this and it’s only steps from the water.

The cost is $599 and is good for up to 8 people with a surcharge for any extra guests.  It might seem like a lot of money, but it averages out to about $75 per person and offers a much more relaxed and convenient time at Half Moon Beach.

You can also get a standard cabana for rental starting at $359 that has space for up to 4 people.

4.  Splurge on the Private Oasis

A lot of people don’t even know about this option. The Private Oasis is a 1,620 square foot private cabana that has a walkway that leads right into the pristine turquoise water. The hot tub, hammock, loungers, and full wet bar along with barbecue area all offer a perfect exclusive environment for up to 12 people. The cost is about $1,600 but most groups that have booked it have said that it’s worth the price tag.

Carnival’s website explains what comes with the Private Oasis:

“Your package includes the services of a butler, personal chef, bartender, cabana Steward, and lifeguard along with the following:

Whole fresh fruits, chips & salsa. Beverage Package with select Imported and Domestic Beers; Wines by the Glass; Tropical Cocktails including Bahama Mamas, Rum Punch, and Margarita, Frozen Classics including Pina Coladas, Banana Coladas and Strawberry Daiquiris; as well as Virgin Pina Coladas, Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris and Virgin Banana Coladas.”

5.  Take a Nature Walk

As we mentioned, over 95% of Half Moon Cay has not been developed so there are some great nature trails to enjoy the wildlife.

You can do this on your own or take a $19 excursion with a tour guide that will walk you through 1.5 miles of the trail. The guide will point out the tropical palm and sea grape trees, curly-tailed lizards, and Bananaquit birds of Half Moon Cay.

Hiking around the island is a great low-key exercise for just getting some cardio in while enjoying the sights. The dune paths are clearly marked, and you will find some informative signs next to the plant life along the way.

6.  Do the Island Bike Tour

You can kick things up a notch with a bike tour of this crescent-shaped island as well. This will allow you to see a little more of the island than the previous tour.

The bike tour will take you by the welcome center, the Bahamian church, Half Moon Beach, the stable of the swimming horses, and a 700-acre lagoon. You will even learn how the they desalinate the ocean water and generate electricity on the island.

There is also a bike and hike tour if you’re interested in both.

7.  Get Up Close with the Stingrays

Some people don’t realize that Half Moon Cay has a great Stingray encounter as well called Stingray Cove. It’s just a short tram ride away or you can walk if you’d like.

After a briefing you can put on some snorkel gear and see the stingrays in their habitat and even feel how silky-smooth they are. A net keeps other marine life from getting into the enclosure.

stingray cove half moon cay

8.  Go Swimming with Horses

Even if you have never ridden a horse before you can try this activity on Half Moon Cay. The horseback experience will tour some of the island and take you to the highest point. From there you can see 360 degree views of the island as well as some of the other Bahamian islands.

After that the guides will let you get something to drink while they prepare the horses with a special “saddle” for their swim. It is a specifically designed pad and rope halter. This is definitely a bucket-list item.

There are about 20 horses that are kept at Pegasus Ranch. Even if you don’t book a horseback riding excursion you can follow the path to see the horses and see some beautiful flowers along the way.

9.  Kayak the Lagoon

For nature-lovers the kayaking on Half Moon Cay is epic. There is not a ton of exercise involved though, as you will only kayak half a mile or so at most.

Bone Fish Lagoon takes up a massive 1,400 acres of habitat that is protected. You can see some exotic seabirds and appreciate the water’s clarity as your guide will point out all the other wild life around you.

There is a stop along the way to see starfish, jellyfish, sea cucumber, and conch. The guides are fun and make it fun for the whole family so it’s a good family activity to try on the island.

Note: You can also take a glass-bottom boat rides at Bone Fish Lagoon if you want a more leisurely activity.

10.  Snorkel by Boat

The water around Half Moon Cay is stunningly clear, so snorkeling allows for amazing visibility in seeing the coral and marine life.

You can go snorkeling with your own snorkel gear and check out the main beach area, but there isn’t really much to see there, except for crystal clear turquoise water that is.

A boat ride can take you to a site off the coast of the private island so you can see an abundance of marine life in the Caribbean waters. You might even see a stingray in the wild

11.  Play Some Games

Are you so excited to be on a cruise vacation that you just have to get some energy out?  Why not play some beach games on Half Moon Cay? You can enjoy activities like basketball, beach volleyball, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. All you have to do is check out the necessary gear from the Sports Center located near the Bahamian Church.

12.  Let the Kids Hit the Playground and Aqua Park

Maybe it’s the children that need to vent some energy. Half Moon Lagoon Aqua Park is located right on the main beach and has a couple water slides and a pirate ship that shoots water from its canons. There is also a fountain of water providing a cool mist as it sprays into the air. The aqua park is free to use.

Half Moon Cay also has a playground without the water, and once again there are pirate ships involved which act as play areas. There are several slides, swings, teeter totters, and a more restful picnic area for the adults to enjoy a reprieve.

13.  Take the Aqua Trax/Jet Ski Adventure

Jet skis are called Aqua Trax on the island and cruisers can rent them to explore the amazing saltwater lagoon. Some parts of the lagoon are off-limits, and you must have a driver’s license to enjoy this water adventure.

Personally, I enjoy jet skiing out in the ocean because you can hit the waves and catch some air. In Bone Fish Lagoon the water is very calm so it’s a smooth ride.

14.  Eat at the Lobster Shack

Yes, you can eat free burgers and BBQ at the Island Barbecue for lunch.  But the dining pavilion is typically only open from 11:30am to 1:30pm. So, if you’re a little hungry outside of those times or you just have a hankerin’ for some delicious crustaceans, the Lobster Shack is the place to be.

One thing to note is that these lobsters are not New England lobsters, but they are local and fresh. That freshness is obvious after the first bite. The cost is $20.

Note: Some of the other food items offered at the free buffet also include hotdogs, ribs, Caribbean jerk, chili fried rice, banana rum cake, titi shrimp and more.

15.  Rent a Hobie Cat (a small catamaran)

There have been mixed reports as to whether or not these are still available at Half Moon Cay, so let us know what you find when you get to the island.

Sailing around in a Hobie Cat on a beautiful sunny day can be the highlight of your day. These small catamarans can be rented from the water sports shack near one of the bars.

The cost is about $50 an hour last time we checked.

16.  Go Birding on Half Moon Cay

Because only a small percentage of the private island has been developed there is still plenty of wildlife to enjoy in its natural habitat.

As part of the sale agreement of Half Moon Cay Holland America Line agreed to maintain the island as a nature preserve and a wild bird sanctuary. Besides finding nesting seabirds in the wild, birders can also discover almost 50 different species of birds.

Some of the types of birds to be found on the island include burrowing owls, white-crowned pigeons, Roseate, Sooty, Bridled, Brown Noddies, shearwaters, Bahamian pintails, ospreys, Bahamian, Great blue heron, snowy egrets, merlin, pintail, morning, ringed neck and tobacco doves.

Visitors on Half Moon Cay are encouraged to document reports of bird sightings to social media and websites like ebird.com to help maintain efforts to protect this habitat.

What About the CHEERS Drink Package While on Half Moon Cay?

While there are many places to get a beverage to drink on the island, you will not be able to utilize Carnival’s drink package. You will have to go back to the ship for that.

So yes, even with the drink package you will have to pay out of pocket for every beverage.

What About massages on Half Moon Cay?

I’ve heard some people ask about getting a massage on the island so I wanted to address this as well. This is a private island, so it is operated by the cruise line and any massage appointments will typically go through the cruise line.

In most cases you can book your massage through the spa front desk and see if there are any openings. The massage hut is right by the water.  Just make sure you check with your cruise line to see if this service is still offered.

5 Tips to Make Your Half Moon Cay Cruise Even Better

  • Take the free tram to get around the island easier.
  • Don’t skip the beach. This place is known for its incredible sandy beaches so whether you rent a cabana or go for a swim, soak in Half Moon Beach. Walk further down the beach to avoid any crowded areas.
  • Do everything early. This means get on the first tender, be the first to the lunch pavilion, and if you’re going to rent a clam shell, cabana or villa do this well in advance of your cruise.
  • Keep lathering on the sunscreen. You can go from being in paradise to being in pain in a hurry if you don’t protect yourself from the Bahamian sunshine.
  • Take advantage of all the great photo ops. The popular selfie with the ship in the turquoise water just in the distance is always a good one to get people jealous back home.
  • Rent a clamshell and just enjoy the sounds of the waves without burning to a crisp.

3 Top Reasons to Choose an Interior Cabin on a Cruise: And One Major Con

Are interior cabins on a cruise only for cheapskates?  Are these windowless boxes only for penny-pinching veteran cruisers who cruise 12 times a year and can’t afford an upgrade on each getaway?

Cabin doors on a cruise ship
Interior cabin or balcony cabin? 3 reasons to consider inside staterooms. Photo Credit: Cruise Fever

I’ve booked just about every type of cabin available on dozens of cruise ships and have had my share of inside cabin experiences.

In some cases, it was not so bad.  In others, I felt like I was more of a crew member than a passenger on vacation.

It’s definitely not for everybody.  While some cruisers I know will only book an inside cabin, others, after trying it once, swear to never do it again.

Despite the drawbacks of these low-cost cabins, there are three reasons to at least consider it.

Carnival’s brand ambassador, John Heald, recently made a social media post talking about interior cabins and their benefits.

As you can imagine, viewpoints were all over the map on this somewhat controversial topic, with some pointing out that there’s a reason luxury cruise ships don’t even have interior cabins.

1. You want to try out as many ships as possible

While still cheaper than land-based vacations, the cost of cruising can add up if you regularly hop on these floating resorts.

In another Cruise Fever post I analyzed the cost of interior vs. balcony cabins on over 300 cruises.  On average, a balcony stateroom carried a 65% premium.   The cost difference was even higher with more premium cruise lines compared to mainstream cruise lines like Carnival and Royal Caribbean.

Across these 300 cruises, a balcony stateroom was $450 more expensive than an interior cabin.

If you cruise just once in a while, it’s not such a big deal.  Big if you want to take as many cruises as possible, an interior cabin allows you to get on the ship and experience every other  part of it.

2. You plan on spending very little time in the cabin

Let’s be honest here, even if you love interior cabins, they aren’t the most inviting spaces.

Sure, I’ve tried the “virtual balcony” cabins before but ended up just annoyed at the flickering screen that I could never quite block out with the curtain.

But if you only use your cabin for sleeping and changing clothes, by all means book inside cabins on every cruise you take.

There’s no point in splurging on a sprawling suite or even balcony stateroom if you’d rather be on the pool deck or in the aft pool enjoying the wake view.

And with the money you save by booking this low-cost cabin you can pay for a specialty dining experience or an excursion.

3. You prefer the sleep benefits of an interior cabin

I know some veteran cruisers that claim this is their number one reason for booking inside cabins.  The complete darkness of the room provides the perfect sleeping environment, they say.

This can also lead to sleeping in if you’re used to waking up to natural light, but it’s your vacation so why not grab a few more winks.

On top of that many inside cabins are more centrally located and so feel less movement in rough seas, although the difference is more subtle than the claims.

Being midship and on a lower deck has a bigger impact on movement, but side to side movements can be minimized with a more centrally located cabin.

All these factors can make for some solid shuteye.

One reason NOT to book an interior cabin

While I could list many reasons to avoid these cabins, my biggest reason for opting out of an interior cabin experience is so I can have my own private space to enjoy the views only a cruise ship provides.

This makes an even bigger difference when taking a cruise to Alaska, or around Hawaii, or while seeing the fjords of Norway.

Yes, I can get these same views on the top deck of the ship.  But there’s something to be said about your own cozy environment, just feet away from your bed, where you can soak in the natural light of a beautiful world.

And when the hustle and bustle of a busy pool deck on a sea day becomes too much, a retreat of your own to enjoy is well worth the extra cost, in my opinion.

The biggest drawback of an interior cabin is not having easy access to the views and privacy of a balcony.

I have a friend who booked an interior cabin on a cruise.  The ship was sailing along the Falkland Islands when the captain announced some of the views in the early morning.

He and his family could not just open the curtains and see it.  It was a cold day, so they had to bundle up and head up several decks to see what he described as one of the most picturesque views he had ever seen from a ship.

If your cruise destination has the kinds of views you want to remember forever, an inside cabin might present a few more obstacles to your enjoyment of them.
