Carnival Cruise Line has released extensive details about its Milestones recognition system.
Within the new Carnival Rewards programme, loyal cruisers will receive commemorative coins, special gifts, and onboard credit based on total days sailed.

The announcement clarifies one of three distinct components of the revamped loyalty scheme that has generated considerable confusion amongst cruise enthusiasts since its introduction in June 2025.
Days Sailed Determines Milestone Rewards Exclusively
The Milestone recognition system operates independently from booking patterns or spending habits.
It focuses solely on the total number of days guests have sailed with Carnival.
The cruise line confirmed in an email to guests that “every day you sail with us counts toward Milestones recognition,” emphasising that achieving new recognition levels has never been more straightforward.
Unlike traditional loyalty programmes, factors such as the overall number of cruises taken, length of individual sailings, onboard spending amounts, or stateroom category selections do not influence Milestone day accumulation.
This streamlined approach ensures that all sailing days contribute equally towards reaching recognition thresholds.
First Recognition Level Begins At 50 Days Sailed
Guests who achieve their first Milestone at 50 days sailed with Carnival will receive 5,000 Carnival Rewards points.
These points can be redeemed for benefits of their choosing, offering flexibility in how they are used.
Redemption options include cruise deposits or fares, pre-cruise purchases, or onboard spending during future voyages.

Sample point values provide insight into redemption options, including 1,357 points for a six-pack of soda, 2,400 points for a Bonsai Teppanyaki dinner, or 3,000 points for a thermal suite day pass.
The exact amounts vary based on specific items and services available.
Additionally, 50-day Milestone achievers will receive a “special” Sail & Sign card, though Carnival has not yet released details about its distinctive appearance compared to standard cards issued to all guests.
Enhanced Benefits Unlock At 100-Day Milestone
The 100-day Milestone brings significantly expanded recognition.
Guests receive 10,000 Carnival Rewards points alongside the special Sail & Sign card and a commemorative coin.
Two additional benefits debut at this level; however, specific details remain undefined – “onboard recognition” and Milestones onboard credit.
These perks have not been clearly explained by Carnival and may vary based on different sailings, stateroom categories, or other factors yet to be announced.
The cruise line appears to be maintaining flexibility in how these benefits are delivered to guests.
The same benefit package repeats for every successive 100-day increment.
This means guests who reach 200, 300, and 400 days sailed will receive identical rewards.
This consistent structure provides predictable recognition as loyal cruisers accumulate more sailing days with the line.
Elite 500-Day Level Introduces Premium Recognition
Guests who reach the remarkable 500-day Milestone will receive all previous 100-level benefits plus two exclusive additions.
A commemorative award and commemorative gift will be shipped directly to guests’ home addresses, marking this significant achievement.

This enhanced recognition package demonstrates Carnival’s commitment to honouring its most dedicated cruisers.
The home delivery of commemorative items ensures guests can display their achievements beyond their time at sea.
The 500-day benefit structure repeats at 600, 700, 800 days, and every successive 100-day increment thereafter.
This ensures the cruise line’s most loyal guests continue receiving meaningful recognition throughout their cruising journey.
Understanding The Three-Part Carnival Rewards System
Considerable confusion has surrounded the new Carnival Rewards programme since its initial announcement in June 2025.
This prompted the cruise line to issue multiple clarifications and adjustments over the past year.
The Milestones update represents another effort to help guests understand the distinct components of the revamped loyalty scheme.
The programme comprises three separate elements that serve different purposes.
Stars determine overall reward status levels – Red, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond – that unlock various tier benefits and privileges throughout each sailing.
Points can be redeemed for various benefits regardless of status level, providing immediate value that guests can apply towards enhancing their cruise experiences.
Milestones offer one-time recognition rewards for accumulating set numbers of days sailed with Carnival, celebrating long-term loyalty to the brand.
Key Differences Between Stars, Points, And Milestones
Both stars and points are earned based on spending, either through Carnival Cruise Line bookings or through the affiliated Mastercard.
This can include everyday non-cruise purchases.
This spending-based structure rewards guests who invest more in their cruise experiences and use the co-branded credit card for regular transactions.
These spending-based rewards come with expiration periods, meaning stars and points must be earned and maintained within predetermined timeframes.
This encourages active engagement with the programme and regular sailing with Carnival.
Milestones operate differently as one-time rewards that do not expire, which can be accumulated over much longer periods.
This provides recognition for lifetime loyalty regardless of how frequently guests sail or how much time passes between cruises.
Programme Evolution Continues As Guest Feedback Arrives
Since the Carnival Rewards programme remains relatively new, additional changes may emerge as it goes live across the fleet.
The cruise line receives feedback from guests actively using their rewards.
Carnival has demonstrated willingness to refine the programme based on cruiser responses and operational experience.
The cruise line’s iterative approach suggests that current Milestone benefits may expand or be modified to better serve loyal guests.
As more cruisers reach various Milestone levels, Carnival will gain valuable insights into which rewards resonate most strongly with its passenger base.
The comprehensive Milestones recognition system represents Carnival’s commitment to acknowledging and rewarding guest loyalty in tangible ways.
By separating day-based recognition from spending-based rewards, the programme ensures that all loyal cruisers receive meaningful acknowledgement regardless of their budget or booking preferences.
