Crystal has unveiled further details of its upcoming luxury cruise ship Crystal Grace, revealing a range of new family-focused venues and expanded outdoor spaces that will debut when the vessel enters service in 2028.
The new ship will introduce dedicated areas for children and teenagers, alongside the largest pool in the Crystal fleet and the line’s first private poolside cabanas, as the company continues to broaden its appeal to multi-generational travellers without moving away from its luxury positioning.
Among the highlights is a new outdoor family area on deck 11, designed to give younger guests a dedicated place to play while enjoying fresh sea air. The space will include a shallow pool, outdoor games and seating areas where families can relax together in a secure environment. Crystal said the area has been created to encourage active play and social interaction while complementing the elegant design found throughout the ship.
Family Facilities Expanded
Crystal Grace will also feature an enlarged Waves Teen Centre, which the cruise line says will be the biggest teen venue across its fleet. Reserved for guests aged 13 to 17, the space will include a larger entertainment lounge with a giant screen for gaming, films and organised activities, alongside dedicated areas for card and board games, plus a music and dance zone complete with its own sound system and dance floor.
The venue will host a daily programme of activities, with additional events during popular family travel periods, including the summer holidays and festive season.
For younger children aged between three and 12, Crystal is redesigning its Fantasia Children’s Playroom. The refreshed venue will continue to offer supervised activities, creative sessions and drop-off programmes, while the cruise line will also maintain its in-room babysitting service.
Bernie Leypold, Crystal’s Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations, said: “Crystal Grace represents the future of exceptional luxury travel while honouring the elements our guests cherish most. As more families and multiple generations choose to travel together, we have thoughtfully expanded our offerings for younger guests while enhancing the outdoor spaces that make life at sea so memorable. These new venues create opportunities for connection, adventure and relaxation for guests of every age.”
New Pool Deck And Private Cabanas
The centrepiece of Crystal Grace’s outdoor offering will be the Seahorse Pool, which will become the largest swimming pool across the Crystal fleet.
Located on deck 10, the pool area will feature 140 loungers spread across decks 10 and 11, giving guests plenty of space to relax while enjoying panoramic ocean views. A large outdoor LED screen will also be installed, hosting live sporting events, destination presentations and open-air movie nights.
Crystal Grace will also become the first ship in the fleet to offer private cabanas around the main pool. A total of 60 cabanas will be available on deck 11, each accommodating two guests and overlooking the Seahorse Pool. The cabanas will be offered on a first come, first served basis, providing guests with a more secluded space to unwind.
Another new addition will be a poolside bar located directly behind the main pool on deck 10. The venue, which was recently confirmed for Crystal Serenity during her upcoming dry dock, will also feature aboard Crystal Grace, offering guests a casual setting for drinks throughout the day and into the evening.
Crystal Grace is scheduled to make her debut with an eight-night inaugural voyage from Civitavecchia, serving Rome, to Venice, departing on 11th June 2028.
The vessel will become the third ship in the Crystal fleet, joining Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. The cruise line entered a new era in 2022 after Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group acquired the Crystal brand and invested $170 million into refurbishing its existing ships.
Alongside its luxury accommodation and high crew-to-guest ratio, Crystal continues to expand its onboard experiences through partnerships including the Casino de Monte-Carlo at sea, Nobu Matsuhisa’s Umi Uma restaurant, Beefbar and wellness facilities at the Aurōra Spa.
