A cruise passenger was arrested this week after being accused of hitting children on a Carnival cruise ship during a weekend sailing out of Port Canaveral.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said the intoxicated passenger, a 44-year old man by the name of David Crosby, is accused of hitting children in the face and stomach during a game of tag on Carnival Glory.
WESH reported that one child suffered a bloody lip and head pain, while another suffered stomach pain.
Security cameras on the Carnival cruise ship recorded the incident as the children were running down the hallway of the vessel. The BCSO said that Crosby stopped running during the game of tag, and that’s when he struck the two kids.
The warrant for Crosby’s arrest said that he did not remember the incident due to him being “heavily intoxicated”. The report also did not state if Crosby was related to the children or not.
Crosby, who lives in Surrency, Georgia, was held on $20,000 bond and charged with child abuse WO great bodily harm, simple assault. A court date has been set for August 25, 2026.
The booking details on Brevard County Sheriff’s Office’s website says that Crosby was released yesterday on July 28, 2026.
The incident happened when Carnival Glory was on a three-day cruise out of Port Canaveral that had one stop, Carnival Cruise Line’s private port in The Bahamas, Celebration Key.
The ship sails three- and four-night cruises to The Bahamas from Port Canaveral.
