A 34-year-old Florida man was arrested after authorities said he sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman he met aboard a cruise ship returning to PortMiami. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrest report cited by Local 10, Cody Gray met the woman in a shipboard nightclub early September 12 and allegedly supplied her with three additional alcoholic drinks.
Investigators said the woman told Gray she did not want to have sex, later became unconscious, and reported that she never consented to sexual activity. Gray was taken into custody after the ship returned to Miami and faces charges of sexual battery and providing alcohol to a minor. He was ordered held without bond pending another hearing. Authorities did not identify the cruise ship in the arrest report. Cruise Law News subsequently noted that Carnival Horizon appears to match the September 6–12 PortMiami itinerary, but that identification has not been confirmed by law enforcement and should be treated as an inference rather than fact.
