MSC Cancels Armonia Repositioning Cruise To South Africa Over Red Sea Concerns

MSC Cruises has canceled MSC Armonia’s 26-night repositioning voyage from Marghera, Italy, to Durban, South Africa, scheduled to depart November 1, 2026. According to a statement sent to booked guests and reported by Cruise Industry News, MSC said the continuing geopolitical situation around the Suez region means it cannot guarantee safe transit through the Suez Canal and Red Sea.

Affected passengers are being offered three options: a full refund without penalty, a transfer to another similar-length MSC Grand Voyage with favorable fare protection, or a move to another currently scheduled MSC cruise without a change fee. MSC Armonia is still expected to operate its planned 2026–27 season in South Africa.
