Passengers aboard MSC Euribia have been given detailed emergency instructions as the vessel continues to remain docked in Dubai after cruise operations in the Persian Gulf were cancelled amid regional security concerns.
The precautionary notice, dated 3rd March 2026, was issued while the ship stays alongside in the United Arab Emirates port.
In a letter to guests, Captain Paolo Benini confirmed that the port area in Dubai is currently regarded as secure, but explained that additional procedures are being put in place to ensure readiness should the situation escalate.
The message, which was shared within the MSC friends community, makes clear that the steps are precautionary rather than a response to any specific new threat.
Colour Codes Introduced As Extra Safeguard
Guests were informed that two colour-coded announcements could be broadcast via the ship’s public address system if required.
If passengers hear the announcement “Delta Tango – Blue Code”, it would indicate that a potential threat has been identified in the vicinity of the vessel.
In such circumstances, crew would begin clearing all open outside decks and escort guests to designated safe areas on board. Passengers are instructed to follow crew guidance promptly.
A second announcement, “Delta Tango – Red Code”, would signify an immediate emergency affecting the ship. Should this code be activated, guests would be required to follow crew instructions without delay.
Depending on the nature of the incident, passengers could be directed either to protected areas on board or potentially ashore. The letter also urges guests to remain calm and to assist fellow passengers where necessary.
The captain stressed that the communication does not reflect a change in the vessel’s risk assessment.
Instead, it has been issued because MSC Euribia is remaining in port longer than originally scheduled following the suspension of its Gulf itineraries.
Captain Benini reassured guests that the crew is fully trained to respond to a range of emergency scenarios and that the ship continues to monitor developments closely in coordination with the appropriate authorities.
Despite that, it’s sure to be concerning for guests onboard to receive a letter such as this.

Cruise lines operating in the region have been reviewing their deployment plans in recent weeks as security conditions evolve, with passenger safety cited as the overriding priority.
