MSC Cruises has completed installation of a dramatic dragon sculpture aboard its upcoming flagship MSC World Asia, now under construction at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France. The stainless-steel centerpiece measures 12 meters — about 39 feet — long and is suspended at a height of roughly 10 meters above the Outdoor World Promenade.
MSC says the pearlescent-white sculpture includes nearly 700 mirrors, about 400 meters of integrated strip lighting, and more than 3,000 LED light points, allowing it to be illuminated after dark. Designed by Balich Wonder Studio, the dragon is intended to become a visual symbol of the ship’s Asian-inspired design. MSC World Asia is scheduled to begin seven-night Mediterranean cruises on December 4, 2026.
