Norwegian Cruise Line has officially opened advance sales for its highly anticipated Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay, giving future guests the first opportunity to secure day passes and premium rentals ahead of the attraction’s debut later this year.
From 28th May 2026, guests booked on sailings visiting the Bahamian private island from 4th September onwards can begin purchasing admission passes for the nearly six-acre waterpark. Cabana rentals and other exclusive spaces are also now available to reserve, with each rental including waterpark access.
The new attraction is set to officially welcome its first guests on Friday, 4th September 2026, when Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, Norwegian Luna, becomes the first vessel to call at the transformed private destination.

Pricing for both waterpark admission and private rentals has not been fixed across all sailings. Norwegian Cruise Line confirmed rates will vary depending on factors such as sailing dates, seasonal demand, holidays and the number of ships visiting Great Stirrup Cay on a particular day.
Luxury Cabanas And New Attractions Revealed
While Norwegian Cruise Line has yet to release full specifications for the private cabanas, newly shared renderings offer a glimpse at the upscale experience guests can expect.
The cabanas will accommodate up to six guests and feature shaded lounge seating, ceiling fans and dedicated relaxation areas. Some are positioned near the park’s headline waterslides, while others overlook the lazy river for easier access to quieter attractions.
The cruise line first announced Great Tides Waterpark in July 2025, promising one of the largest expansions ever made to Great Stirrup Cay. Since then, more attractions and details have been confirmed.
At the centre of the development is the 170-foot Tidal Tower, which serves as the launch point for several major slides. Among the most intense attractions are the Breakwater Blasters water coasters and the Whitewater Dash racing body slides.
Guests looking for competitive thrills can try the Rapid Mat Racers dual mat slides, while Tropic Storm and Tropic Spiral deliver twisting enclosed slide experiences.
One of the waterpark’s standout features will be Cliffside Cove, described by the cruise line as an industry-first attraction featuring 10-foot and 15-foot cliff jumps.
Families travelling together will also find attractions designed for group participation, including The Great Slide, which Norwegian Cruise Line says is the Caribbean’s only four-person body slide.
For younger visitors, Splash Cay will offer more than 9,000 square feet of interactive play space complete with fountains, mini slides, sprays and a giant tipping bucket.
Meanwhile, guests seeking a more relaxed experience can float along the Wandering River, an elevated lazy river stretching more than 800 feet. The attraction will include a multi-sensory grotto alongside sections featuring stronger currents and more active water features.
Great Stirrup Cay Expansion Continues
The waterpark is only one part of a much wider redevelopment project taking place at Great Stirrup Cay.
Visitors arriving later this year will also find the new Great Life Lagoon, expanded beaches, swim-up bars, fresh dining venues including three new food trucks, and the adults-only Vibe Shore Club.
Norwegian Cruise Line has also upgraded the island’s transportation infrastructure with an expanded tram system designed to improve access across the destination.
Norwegian Luna will lead the opening celebrations during her 29th August 2026 sailing from Miami. The seven-night Caribbean itinerary will include calls to Puerto Plata, St. Thomas and Tortola before ending with the inaugural visit to Great Stirrup Cay after the waterpark officially opens.
Following the debut, Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Prima are expected to make regular visits throughout September, with Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Jewel joining the schedule in October.
As the Caribbean winter season ramps up later in the year, even more Norwegian Cruise Line ships are expected to include Great Stirrup Cay on their itineraries, bringing thousands of guests each week to experience the cruise line’s largest private island enhancement to date.
