Ruby Princess Drops Kauai Call As Island Recovers From Hurricane Lowell

Ruby Princess will skip Kauai on its September 17, 2026 Hawaii cruise from San Francisco as the island continues recovering from Hurricane Lowell.

Cruise Hive reports that Princess Cruises notified guests that the 16-night sailing will no longer call at Nawiliwili. Instead, Ruby Princess is scheduled to arrive earlier in Honolulu and remain overnight, giving passengers additional time on Oahu. The other planned port calls are not currently reported as affected.

The change is consistent with official conditions on Kauai. In its September 14 recovery update, the County of Kauai said Nawiliwili Harbor was open to cargo traffic but specifically noted that no cruise ships were coming in. The county reported 10 homes destroyed, 64 with major damage, and more than 620 resident-submitted damage assessments following Lowell. Recovery work remained underway September 15, particularly in areas still awaiting full power restoration.
