MSC Cruises is marking six months until the first sailing of MSC World Asia, the line’s highly anticipated new flagship, and has announced the ship will be officially named on Nov. 28, 2026, in Le Havre, France.
As the latest addition to the World Class fleet, MSC World Asia will celebrate the beauty of the world’s continents and oceans as well as pay homage to the global nature of MSC Cruises. The new flagship will feature subtle design elements inspired by Asia’s rich culture, art, and landscapes, and will combine returning guest favorites with innovative new concepts designed to elevate entertainment, dining, and relaxation at sea.
MSC World Asia
From the longest dry slide at sea to more than 40 bars and restaurants, plus immersive entertainment venues delivering memorable experiences day and night, MSC World Asia is set to offer something for every type of traveler.
The ship will be named in a spectacular ceremony in Le Havre, France, bringing together key figures from across the global travel industry, international media, partners, and invited guests for an evening blending maritime tradition with contemporary celebration.
Our World Class ships have been a great success with guests, and MSC World Asia, the third of eight in this class, marks the next step in this journey. As we look ahead to her inaugural Mediterranean season, we are proud to continue delivering ships that reflect our vision, innovation, beautiful design, and focus on the guest experience, with each one raising the bar even further. I’m also proud to announce that Captain Paolo Benini will take the helm of MSC World Asia, in recognition of his outstanding leadership on MSC Euribia, including during its recent deployment in Dubai. Having joined MSC Cruises in 2024 with a distinguished maritime career, he is widely respected for his calm, people-focused command and is the ideal choice to lead this remarkable new flagship. – Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises.
Following the official naming ceremony in Le Havre, including the traditional breaking of a champagne bottle on the ship’s bow, MSC World Asia will begin her inaugural Mediterranean season from Barcelona on Dec. 4, offering 7-night itineraries to iconic destinations including Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Naples, and Valletta, with embarkation available at every port.
Alongside these popular destinations, guests will also enjoy equally memorable onboard experiences. With just six months to go, MSC Cruises is unveiling six standout attractions combining adrenaline and wonder for guests of all ages, including:
The Cliffhanger
For the first time in Europe, guests aboard MSC World Asia will be able to experience Cliffhanger, MSC Cruises’ exhilarating over-water swing ride towering 164 feet above the open sea. The attraction propels riders back and forth high above the ocean, delivering breathtaking views and a one-of-a-kind thrill.
The Spiral @ Tree of Life
Set to be the longest dry slide at sea at 266 feet, The Spiral @ Tree of Life will offer guests a thrilling ride spanning 11 decks in just seconds. Inspired by the iconic trees of Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, the striking architectural feature blends adrenaline and design while tying into the ship’s Asia-inspired elements.
The Twin Racer & U Drop Waterslides
Guests looking for high-speed fun can race side-by-side on the Twin Racer waterslides or take on the U Drop slide for exhilarating thrills high above the deck. Designed for friendly competition and shared moments, the attractions bring even more energy to the Family Aventura district.
Adventure Trail High Ropes Course
The Adventure Trail ropes course challenges guests to test their balance and bravery across a two-level course suspended above the ocean. Spanning 6,210 square feet and featuring Sky Rails similar to a zip line, the attraction combines adrenaline-fueled fun with spectacular sea views.
The MSC Formula Racer
Perfect for Formula 1® fans and racing enthusiasts alike, the MSC Formula Racer in the Hall of Games offers guests an immersive racing simulation experience. The two-seat simulator allows guests to virtually drive a high-speed Formula 1® car, reflecting MSC Cruises’ ongoing global partnership with Formula 1®.
The MSC Luna Park Arena
MSC Luna Park Arena is set to become one of MSC Cruises’ most innovative and interactive entertainment venues to date. Using immersive digital technology, the floor will transform into an interactive arena where guests can compete in dynamic gaming experiences, a first of its kind on any MSC Cruises ship. The venue will also host original game shows including Code Breakers, Labyrinth and Chart Toppers, alongside high-energy themed parties and entertainment across two decks.
Beyond its thrilling attractions, MSC World Asia will also feature more than 40 bars, lounges and restaurants, immersive family entertainment, seven pools and 13 hot tubs, thoughtfully curated artworks inspired by Asia’s landscapes and traditions, and the line’s largest variety of MSC Yacht Club suite categories to date.
