Viking Opens Over 700 New Ocean Cruises for Bookings


Viking has opened bookings on over 700 ocean cruises that will depart in 2028-2029, marking the cruise line’s largest ocean deployment to date.

The 2028–2029 deployment includes cruises spanning the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Alaska, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, South America and the Panama Canal.

These new Viking cruises include 80 different itineraries that will visit 301 ports in 84 countries. This includes sailings on two new cruise ships, Viking Vega and Viking Leda.

These two new cruise ships will enter service in 2028 and 2029. They will be 54,300 gross tons in size with 499 balcony cabins that host 998 passengers.

Viking also announced two new ocean itineraries, Alaskan Fjords & the Inside Passage and Mediterranean, Malta & North Africa.

Itinerary highlights of Viking’s 2028-2029 sailings include:

  • Alaskan Fjords & the Inside Passage (15 days; Vancouver – Whittier)
  • Mediterranean, Malta & North Africa (16 days; roundtrip Rome)
  • Japan Discovery (15 days; roundtrip Tokyo)
