Everyone has that group chat. Someone drops the idea of a real trip. The response is instant, unanimous and followed, inevitably, by approximately nothing. Schedules collide. Deposits feel like commitments. No one wants to be the one to ask where exactly everyone is staying. Starting June 3, those conversations have a much cleaner ending.
Virgin Voyages launches its new Groups program: the adults-only cruise line’s answer to every group trip that has been in planning mode for longer than anyone wants to admit. Eight or more cabins. No deposit required.
Group Cruises Planning Made Easy
Every cabin comes with a Group Bar Tab of up to $200, scaled to voyage length. A group dining concierge helps sort up to three group dinner reservations, based on voyage length and availability. The rate locks at booking, protecting every fare in the group no matter what happens to pricing afterward. And for every 16 cabins booked, one sails free. The logistics are handled. The only thing left is picking a date.
“Group trips aren’t really about the destination. They’re about the people,” said Nathan Rosenberg, Chief Brand Experience, Marketing and Momentum Officer at Virgin Voyages. “Some of life’s best moments happen when the people you care about most are all in the same place at the same time, and that’s become harder than ever to pull off. Our ships are designed to bring people together, creating space for the conversations, laughter and shared moments that are often missing from everyday life. The logistics get everyone there. What they remember is how it felt to disconnect from the noise, reconnect with each other and create memories they’ll be talking about for years.”
What they’re arriving to is a ship designed with exactly this kind of group in mind.
- For the foodie – 20-plus restaurants to choose from, including menus from Michelin-starred chefs, without paying a cover charge at any of them.
- For the gym rat – a dedicated weights room, cardio equipment and spin classes with floor-to-ceiling sea views to match.
- For the energizer bunny – a stacked lineup of events: 90s pop dance classes, trivia and bingo with the Diva.
- For the night owl – live entertainment every night and arguably the best nightclub at sea along with 24/7 eats
- For the spa princess – a mermaid-inspired thermal suite and a mud room to detoxify like Ariel herself
The group chose the itinerary and the ship. What they do on it is entirely up to them.
For groups that have a specific occasion to honor, the add-ons take it further. In-cabin champagne and florals waiting on arrival. A restaurant bought out entirely for the night. A private show for the whole group. Live music. The kind of details that turn a trip into a story everyone tells for years.
The program covers the full range of occasions worth actually celebrating: milestone birthdays in the 40s, 50s and 60s, anniversary trips, friendcations, family reunions, new chapter escapes, bachelorette and bachelor voyages, wedding groups and honeymoon parties.
