320 Passengers Evacuated After Fire Breaks Out On Amadea In Denmark

A fire aboard Phoenix Reisen’s Amadea forced the evacuation of 320 passengers while the cruise ship was docked at Rønne, Denmark, on September 14. Bornholm Police said the alarm came at 7:21 a.m. after a fire started in a linen-storage compartment aboard the vessel. The blaze was extinguished about 10 minutes later, and authorities reported no injuries.

Local emergency services, police and the Danish Emergency Management Agency responded at the cruise quay. Bornholm Police said everyone evacuated was safe, while investigators began examining how the fire started. The incident has gained wider cruise-media attention on September 16, giving it renewed reader and social interest despite occurring two days earlier.
