Disney Cruise Line has announced updated prices for daily gratuities, but only guests staying in Concierge Class staterooms or suites will see an increase.

However, that increase is significant, with guests in those higher classes of staterooms now asked to pay $23.50 per person, per night, compared to $15.50 just a year ago.
All guests are asked to pay this increased rate, meaning that on a 7-night cruise, a family of four will now need to pay an extra $224 in total for gratuities.
Guests who are in a regular stateroom will continue to pay $14.50 per person, per night.
Of course, guests are not forced to pay these tips and anyone who decides they wish to adjust or remove those tips can do so by visiting the Guest Services team onboard.
However, it’s never recommended to do so, as many of the crew rely on these tips for part of their salary. Regardless of your personal views on this, it’s not fair on the crew who work so hard to have their earnings cut if guests refuse to pay.
The tips for Concierge Class stateroom and suite guests are split between more crew, as there is an additional stateroom attendant to offer even better service in your room, and a team responsible for the Concierge Lounge.
$23.50 is a premium level of tips to pay. Only Norwegian Cruise Line charges guests more for the top-tier suites, with a daily gratuity of $25 per person, per day.
Royal Caribbean charges $23 per person, per day for suite guests although Royal Genies, the butlers who look after the very best suites onboard, are not included in those tips.
