A Carnival cruise passenger has sparked widespread attention after deliberately jumping from a pier in Cozumel, Mexico, in an incident that was captured on video and has since gone viral across social media platforms.

The young man was filmed climbing over the railing at the cruise terminal before plunging into the water below, hitting a pipe during his descent.

The footage, which has accumulated more than 2.2 million views and nearly 15,000 shares on TikTok, shows the dramatic moment unfolding as other passengers returned to their ship following a day ashore.
