Oceania Cruises’ first Sonata-class ship has reached a major construction milestone. Oceania Sonata was floated out at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy on August 27 and will now move into the fitting-out phase ahead of its planned 2027 delivery.
Fincantieri says the new ship will measure about 86,000 gross tons and accommodate 1,390 guests. Sonata is the first of five ships planned in the new class, with Oceania Arietta scheduled for 2029 and additional vessels planned for 2032, 2035 and 2037. Oceania has separately said the ship is expected to enter service in August 2027
