Royal Caribbean Group has reported third-quarter earnings that beat its own guidance, and the company has raised its full-year profit outlook on the back of strong booking demand, according to Cruise Industry News.

The cruise giant posted third-quarter earnings per share of $6.45, with adjusted earnings per share coming in at $6.57. Royal Caribbean said the better-than-expected results were driven by strong close-in demand from travelers and lower costs tied to the timing of certain expenses. As a result, the company now expects full-year adjusted earnings per share to land between $17.85 and $17.95, even after accounting for higher-than-anticipated fuel costs and currency fluctuations.
What’s Driving the Strong Numbers
Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, pointed to continued consumer enthusiasm for the company’s cruise experiences as a key factor behind the quarter’s performance. “Our third quarter results reflect continued strong consumer demand for our vacation experiences and the accelerated momentum across our industry leading brands,” Liberty said.
Looking further ahead, Liberty noted that early bookings for 2027 are already outpacing historical trends, both in volume and in the rates guests are paying. That year is significant for the company because it marks the conclusion of its “Perfecta” strategic plan, a multi-year target period aimed at delivering 20% compound annual growth in adjusted earnings per share between 2024 and 2027. According to Liberty, the underlying business is tracking ahead of initial expectations toward that goal, and the company says it is already exceeding its return-on-invested-capital target.
The Sandals and Beaches Connection
Part of the optimism tied to future growth stems from a move announced in September: Royal Caribbean Group’s agreement to acquire a 50% interest in Sandals and Beaches Resorts. This deal extends the company’s reach beyond cruising and into the all-inclusive resort category, a market where it already sees significant crossover with its existing customer base.
The Sandals and Beaches portfolio spans resorts across the Caribbean, with additional properties currently under development, along with substantial undeveloped land holdings adjacent to existing resorts that could support future expansion. Royal Caribbean noted that roughly 30% of its own cruise guests also take all-inclusive vacations, while a similar share of Sandals and Beaches guests also cruise, suggesting room to introduce each brand’s loyal customers to the other.
Liberty described the resort partnership as a natural extension of the company’s broader mission. “Sandals and Beaches Resorts extend our platform into an attractive adjacent category, unlocking more ways to deliver on that mission,” he said, adding that the move is meant to build on the strength of the core cruise business rather than distract from it.
What This Means for Cruise Passengers
For everyday cruisers, these results are largely a sign of financial health rather than something that will change next year’s vacation plans overnight. Strong demand and robust bookings generally translate into continued investment in ships, onboard experiences, and destinations across Royal Caribbean’s various brands. The raised guidance also suggests the company isn’t seeing signs of pulling back from cruisers despite broader economic uncertainties like fuel costs and currency swings.
The Sandals and Beaches tie-up is one to watch over the coming months and years, as it could eventually mean more combined vacation packages or loyalty crossover opportunities for travelers who enjoy both cruising and all-inclusive resort stays. For now, though, the headline news is simply that Royal Caribbean’s business is performing better than expected, with management expressing confidence that this momentum will carry into 2027 and beyond.
