Royal Caribbean Guest Punches Crew Member During Icon Of The Seas Sailing

Royal Caribbean is investigating an onboard altercation after a guest struck a crew member aboard Icon of the Seas during a recent Caribbean sailing, an incident that was captured on video and widely shared on social media.

Icon of the Seas crew member assaulted

The confrontation occurred on the ship’s open decks during a 7-night Eastern Caribbean voyage that departed Miami on 6th December 2025.

Video footage shows a male guest in swimwear engaged in a heated exchange with crew members before throwing punches, including one that knocked a uniformed crew member to the deck.

The crew member, believed to be part of the ship’s lifeguard or deck safety team based on attire, did not retaliate.

Another crew member intervened to restrain the guest briefly before security personnel followed the individual away from the area.

The incident appears to have taken place near the ship’s waterslide complex, with signage and deck features visible in the footage. The guest is later seen walking away while making obscene gestures toward onlookers.

Lifetime Ban Likely

Royal Caribbean has not yet issued a public statement confirming what disciplinary action was taken, but the cruise line maintains a zero-tolerance policy for violence toward crew members.

Under company policy, guests involved in physical altercations may face confinement, removal at the next port, notification of local authorities, and permanent bans from sailing.

Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, carries more than 7,600 guests at maximum capacity and features extensive security coverage, including cameras throughout public areas.

She currently offers alternating itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, all lasting 7 nights.

Understandably, many cruisers on social media have criticised the guest after watching the video, hopeful that they will face criminal charges once they disembark.
