Luxury cruise line Seabourn has announced two solar eclipse cruise opportunities for guests to enjoy in 2026.
The solar eclipse is due to happen on 12th August 2026, and Seabourn has planned two itineraries around it for Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Sojourn, giving guests incredible views of this landmark event.
Seabourn Ovation will sail a 14-day cruise from Dover, England to Reykjavik in Iceland. The cruise will embark on 8th August 2026, visiting ports in Ireland before enjoying a day in the Atlantic Ocean for the eclipse itself.
Seabourn Sojourn will offer a 10-day round-trip cruise from Barcelona on 7th August 2026, with the ship scheduled to be in the Balearic Sea during the solar eclipse.
On both cruises, guests will be able to enjoy themed events including talks by the Royal Astronomic Society (on Ovation) and by Dallas Campbell, a science presenter and author (on Sojourn).
“The viewing of the solar eclipse from our ultra-luxury ships will be an unforgettable ‘Seabourn Moment’ for everyone on board… Our team has curated a series of captivating, eclipse-themed Seabourn Conversations and experiences, turning this celestial event into an extraordinary celebration for everyone on board“
Natalya Leahy, president of Seabourn
Several cruise lines have been releasing their 2026 cruises in the past couple of months, including solar eclipse cruises. Seabourn’s sister cruise line Carnival is offering a more family-oriented option, also sailing from Dover.
