Greece By Sea: The Magic of Celestyal Cruises

If you’ve ever dreamed of island-hopping through Greece, there’s no better way to do it than by cruise.

Picture this: iconic islands, real Greek food, traditional music, and sunsets you’ll never forget.

And if you want the real Greek experience at sea? There’s one cruise line that stands out.

Greek-owned cruise line Celestyal Cruises is a fabulous choice as the company offers a genuine and immersive Greek cruising experience.

I sailed the Greek Islands with Celestyal Cruises, and let’s just say… there were a few surprises I didn’t expect (in a good way!). Be sure to check out my cruise review here if you haven’t already.

So, thinking about cruising Greece? Here’s what you really need to know before you book.

The Best Cruise Line For The Greek Islands

Most of the big cruise lines visit the Greek Islands, including Royal Caribbean, P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Celebrity Cruises. So, why am I recommending that you choose the lesser-known Celestyal Cruises above the global cruise lines that we already know and love?

The key difference is that Celestyal Cruises is a Mediterranean specialist offering a genuine Greek experience. Their cruise itineraries are very much destination-focused, so you’ll enjoy more time in each port of call, visiting not just the famous landmarks but discovering some hidden gems too.

Sometimes, you’ll even visit two different Greek islands in one day. And with overnight stays in ports of call, you can enjoy awesome evenings ashore too.

With Celestyal Cruises, the Greek experience doesn’t end when you step back on board. Throughout your cruise, you’ll enjoy authentic Greek cuisine and entertainment.

Fascinating Shore Excursions

So that you won’t miss out on any of the best bits of Greece during your cruise, each Celestyal cruise includes a selection of shore excursions at no extra cost. Classic attractions like the Minoan Palace of Knossos are included in the ticket price for your cruise.

These carefully planned excursions are led by local experts who will share their specialist knowledge with you, showing you the most iconic sights as well as some little-known places of interest. The best Greek cruises are those led by the experts, after all!

You can add more excursions to your trip, or choose to explore ashore independently if you prefer.

Smaller Ships That Can Access Every Port

Celestyal Cruises’ two ships – Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Discovery – are both medium-sized ships, each accommodating fewer than 1,300 guests. The relatively small size of these ships means that you can enjoy a homely atmosphere, with no queues or crowds.

Due to their smaller size, Celestyal Cruises’ ships can access Greek Island ports that are unavailable to larger vessels. So, rather than visiting only the largest and busiest cruise ports, you can head off the beaten path and discover incredible and unspoilt places like Nafplio, Monemvasia and Patmos.

It’s important to note that these ships only joined the fleet in 2023, replacing the two former ships, but they have been given a full refurbishment for the cruise line.

These mid-sized vessels have advantages over Greek Island cruises on small ships, though, since there’s plenty to do onboard as well.

My cruise was on Celestyal Olympia, a ship that has now left the fleet.

Traditional Greek Cuisine

Celestyal Cruises believes that guests should have the opportunity to enjoy Greek food onboard as well as ashore, so the cruise line offers a mix of Greek and international cuisine.

The expert chefs lovingly prepare an incredible choice of meals using fresh local ingredients that are gathered from the various ports of call. Throughout your cruise, you’ll enjoy local olives, taramasalata and dolmades, as well as new and tempting dishes made with the freshest grilled meat, seafood and vegetables.

Cruisers can enjoy meals of three, four, five and even six courses in the main dining room as well as having the option of a self-service buffet. Special dietary requirements are catered for so long as you give two weeks’ notice, and younger guests can order from a comprehensive children’s menu.

Immersive Greek Entertainment

The Greek culture continues into the evenings on board Celestyal Cruises’ lively ships. Rather than sitting and watching passively, guests are encouraged to get involved in Greek dancing, learning the steps to traditional dances like the Ballos, Kalamatianos and Sirtaki.

You’ll have so much fun taking part in the daily games, quizzes and karaoke. There are also live cooking demonstrations so that you can learn how to cook mouth-watering Greek dishes at home.

All-Inclusive Value

The Greeks are known for being hospitable and generous. Yet you’ll be amazed by just how much is included in your cruise fare with Celestyal Cruises. Your cruise fare includes many of the things that other cruise lines charge extra for.

  1. Unlimited Classic Drinks

Very few cruise lines include unlimited drinks as standard. But, with Celestyal Cruises, you can enjoy an endless supply of house wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks, exotic teas and coffees and speciality Greek beverages like Ouzo and Tsipouro.

  1. Immersive Entertainment

Celestyal Cruises offers one of the most extensive programs of entertainment of all cruise lines. For no extra cost, you can enjoy a range of classes, learning things like the Greek language, traditional Greek dancing, Greek cookery and a selection of arts and crafts.

  1. Shore Excursions

Guided shore excursions can be expensive, so it’s fantastic that Celestyal Cruises includes a handpicked selection of excursions that will introduce you to the culture and history of Greece. Led by expert guides, you’ll really make the most of your time ashore, at no extra cost.

  1. Gratuities & Port Charges

You won’t find any hidden costs like service charges or port fees when you book a Celestyal Cruise, as these are already included in the ticket price. While many other cruise lines charge up to $15 per person, per day for crew gratuities, these are included in your cruise fare too, so you’ll have no extra bill to pay at the end.

Discounts for Solo Travellers

Awarded as the ‘Best Cruise Line for Solo Travellers’ at Solo Travel Awards, Celestyal Cruises has a fantastic offering for those who prefer to cruise solo. With lots of group excursions, you’ll have lots of opportunities to make new friends if you want to.

While most cruise lines charge 100% supplements for solo travellers (meaning that you effectively have to pay for a second person even if you don’t have one!), the single supplements on Celestyal Cruises are just 30%.

Greek Island Destinations

Celestyal Cruises offers a range of itineraries from 3 to 14 nights, so whether you want a mini-break or a once-in-a-lifetime voyage, there’s something for everyone.

Here are some of the highlights:

Santorini

The spectacular landscapes of Santorini are instantly recognisable, with hills dotted with whitewashed houses and the iconic blue-domed church at Oia. Here you can enjoy the most incredible sunset from a cliff-side restaurant or from the top deck of your ship.

Santorini

Mykonos

With its winding alleys, pretty little churches and delightful cafes overlooking the sea, Mykonos is a wonderful place to relax and wander. From here, you can visit neighbouring Delos with its incredible temples and archaeology.

Mykonos

Milos

Shaped like a horseshoe, the Greek island of Milos is known as the ‘Island of Colours’, thanks to its colourful volcanic rocks, white sandy beaches and turquoise sea. A marvel of nature, if you look closely at the incredible coastline, you can sometimes see steam rising from fumaroles both on land and in the sea.

Rhodes

With its medieval Old Town, lush green forests, pretty orchards and vineyards, stunning beaches and plenty of ancient archaeology to explore, Rhodes is an island that has it all. Luckily, the most spectacular sights are easy to access from the cruise port at Mandraki Harbour.

Rhodes

Crete

Crete is the largest of all the Greek Islands, with cruise ships docking in the capital of Heraklion. From here, you can visit bustling resort towns nearby, or if you’re feeling energetic, you could take a guided hike into the mountains or explore on a Jeep safari.

Crete

Patmos

The charming and spiritual island of Patmos is featured in the Bible as the place where John the Apostle wrote the final book of the New Testament. Only accessible by sea, this tranquil island is also featured prominently in Greek mythology.

Patmos

Thessaloniki

The cosmopolitan seaside city of Thessaloniki is the second-largest in Greece, after Athens. As you stroll down its winding cobbled streets, you’ll see traditional Greek markets, historic Greek architecture and Roman ruins aplenty.

Thessaloniki

Greek Island Hopping

When it comes to Greek Island hopping, there are three ways to get from island to island – by plane, by ferry and by cruise ship.

Getting around the Greek Islands is pretty complicated, logistically. Both flights and ferries have long and complicated boarding procedures and require you to arrive a couple of hours before departure and spend time in lines.

While flying has the advantage of being fast, this is negated by the amount of time you need to spend in the airport. It can also be very expensive. Ferries are fairly cheap, but you’re likely to spend much of the day sitting on an uncomfortable plastic seat for many hours between each island.

The easiest and most enjoyable way to see the Greek islands is by cruise ship. As you visit a different island every day, you’ll fit far more into your trip than you would if you had to spend time in airports and ferry ports.

Celestyal Journey pool deck

Cruise Length

You can explore the Greek Islands in as little as four days with a cruise from Athens to Mykonos, Patmos, Crete and Santorini. However, to fully experience Greek history and culture a seven-night cruise is recommended.

Spending seven nights in Greece on a cruise will allow you to explore destinations like Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Crete, Milos, Mykonos and Santorini as well as the nearby Turkish beach resort of Kusadasi.

The Weather

Greek Islands cruises are available all year round, but most people choose to cruise between April and September. While July and August are the most popular months, the weather can be very hot in the height of summer. So for a more comfortable trip, you’d be wise to choose June or September.

Celestyal Cruise

Final Word

If you’re dreaming of the perfect Greek Islands adventure, Celestyal Cruises offers an experience that’s hard to beat.

With authentic Greek food, incredible entertainment, smaller ships that reach hidden gems, and so much included in your fare, you’ll get a truly immersive and hassle-free taste of Greece.

Whether you’re dancing under the stars in Santorini, wandering the ancient streets of Rhodes, or discovering colourful Milos, Celestyal brings the magic of Greece to life in a way no big cruise line can match.

Ready to swap airport queues and ferry chaos for smooth sailing and endless adventure? Your unforgettable Greek getaway could be just one cruise away.

Celestyal Cruises Ships Compared – The Best Ships For Greek Isles Cruises?

Without a doubt, one of the most unique cruise experiences I’ve ever had was when I sailed with Celestyal Cruises.

Smaller ships, unique ports, and a totally relaxed vibe. I loved it!

But what are their ships really like — and is smaller always better when it comes to cruising?

There are just two ships in the fleet

Celestyal Cruises currently has two ships. The ships have all been purchased from other cruise lines and refitted to meet the needs of the Celestyal passenger – none have been custom-built for the cruise line.

Here’s a quick look at the two ships that make up the entire fleet:

Ship Built Joined the Celestyal Cruises fleet Gross Tonnage Passenger Capacity Length Number of decks
Celestyal Journey 1994 2023 55,819 GT 1,260 719 feet 12
Celestyal Discovery 2003 2024 42,289 GT 1,266 665 feet 12

1. Celestyal Journey

Celestyal Journey

Joining the fleet in September 2023, Celestyal Journey offers an exciting range of experiences without losing that intimate, relaxing feel that Celestyal is known for.

History

Celestyal Journey is another ship with a long history. She began life as the MS Ryndam for Holland America Line, launching in 1994 and remaining with the cruise line for 21 years of excellent service.

She then joined the P&O Cruises Australia brand as Pacific Aria, before being sold to Cruise & Maritime Voyages.

Before she could debut as the Ida Pfeiffer for the cruise line, it went into administration, and so she instead was sold to Seajets, sailing as Aegean Goddess for three years before joining Celestyal Cruises.

Accommodation

Celestyal Journey offers a range of accommodation options, including Interior and Exterior rooms that sleep between 2 and 4 guests.

Accommodation

There are three categories of Suite on the ship – the Junior Suite, Grand Suite, and a Stargazer Suite which is the largest accommodation option in the fleet.

Dining

One of the biggest advantages to choosing Celestyal Journey is the wide choice of dining options on the ship. Main restaurant choices include the Thalassa Restaurant, the Grill Seekers surf and turf restaurant, and the Greek Deli snack bar. There’s also The Taverna buffet to enjoy.

Dining

Guests can also indulge at Pink Moon which offers South Asian cuisine, and Smoked Olive for more flavours of the Mediterranean. The Chef’s Table is the ultimate venue for special occasions. These restaurants do have an additional charge.

Bars & Lounges

Celestyal Journey hosts an increased number of bars and lounges compared to the older ships in the fleet that have since departed. The centrepiece is the Amphiteatro Show Lounge where live performances bring every night of the cruise to life.

Bars & Lounges

There are three symposiums on the ship too, if you want to enjoy fantastic musical performances, along with the returning favourite Horizons lounge and disco. Other venues include The Grill lounge (just outside the speciality restaurant), the Ocean bar, Helios bar and the Martini Piano bar.

Things to do

In terms of daytime activities, Celestyal Cruises sticks to what it knows with Celestyal Journey – guests can look forward to relaxing spa treatments (the spa is much bigger than on the older ships), outdoor sports, shopping and photography. The outdoor pool has a retractable roof too, so can be used in all weather.

Celestyal-Journey-Spa-scaled

There is a casino, and there’s also an expanded kid’s area with an arcade to help keep younger guests entertained.

Destinations

Celestyal Journey offers a range of itineraries, primarily from 7 nights and up. Some longer celebration cruises will be available around major holidays.

You’ll be able to enjoy Greek Island cruises, but also sailings to the Middle East, with the ship sailing from Doha and Dubai.

2. Celestyal Discovery

Celestyal Discovery

Celestyal Discovery is a more recent addition to the fleet, having joined in 2024. She’s also a newer ship than Celestyal Journey too, having been built in 2003.

History

The history of Celestyal Discovery is a little more straight forward than some other ships that have graced the fleet in the past.

She began life as the AIDAaura sailing for German cruise line AIDA Cruises, and she completed 20 years of service for that cruise line following her launch in 2003.

AIDA Cruises then announced that the ship was decommissioned, and Miray Cruises reportedly tried to buy the ship for their Life At Sea Cruises round-the-world sailing, with the ship due to be renamed Lara.

That fell through, and so in 2023 the ship was acquired by Celestyal ahead of a 2024 launch as Celestyal Discovery.

Accommodation

There are four different cabin options on Celestyal Discovery, starting with the Interior Cosmos Cabins and Exterior Cosmos Cabins with an ocean view.

Balcony Cosmos Cabins are a little larger with their private balcony space, while there are Grand Dream Suites if you want something more lavish, with a jet tub and access to VIP spaces onboard.

Celestyal Discovery Balcony Cosmos Cabin

If you’re travelling as a family, you’ll want to avoid the Balcony options as they sleep a maximum of 2 guests only. Interior and Suite options sleep up to 3, while the Exterior cabins sleep up to 4.

Dining

You’ve got some great dining options available on Celestyal Discovery – you certainly won’t get bored.

The main restaurant is Thalassa, a grill that serves a mix of chargrilled dishes and freshly caught seafood. There’s also The Taverna, which is the ship’s buffet – stocked with a wide range of cuisine options.

Taverna Celestyal Discovery

The Greek Deli is the ship’s main snack option, with the Greek-style bagels being a particular highlight. And there’s Grill Seekers, a surf-and-turf restaurant that you’ll also find on Celestyal Journey.

Bars & Lounges

There is a fantastic selection of bars and lounges on Celestyal Discovery, with a venue to suit every mood.

Feeling classy? Head to Grapevine for a wine recommendation, or sip on signature cocktails at the Martini Bar & Lounge.

Prefer something a little more casual and sweet? Fig & Honey offers juices and gelatos along with indulgent milkshakes and other treats.

Halara Cove Bar Celestyal Discovery

And if you want to party the night away, check out the AFTer Disco Bar & Lounge, or take in a performance at the Amphitheatro Show Lounge.

Things to do

In terms of activities, Celestyal Discovery offers the same experience as Celestyal Journey. Expect to be able to relax by the pool or burn off some calories playing outdoor sports or in the onboard gym. You can then soothe the aches of activity away with a relaxing treatment in the spa.

There’s a casino, along with duty-free shops and a photography studio to help you capture the memories of your cruise.

Destinations

Celestyal Discovery tends to focus more on shorter cruises – still visiting the Greek Islands around the Aegean Sea and the Middle East, but with cruises typically lasting 3 or 4 nights.

Final word

The ships in the Celestyal Cruises fleet are all fantastically maintained despite their age, and offer a wonderful cruise experience.

Both Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Discovery offer a range of well-appointed accommodations, some great dining venues, and plenty of bars and activities to keep you busy – as if the itineraries won’t be enough!

Journey has a couple more dining options, but you won’t feel like you’re missing out if you choose Discovery. Your choice between the ships will likely just come down to whether you prefer the longer sailings that Journey offers, or the short trips available on Discovery.

14 Things To Love About Celestyal Cruises

Celestyal Cruises isn’t the most well-known of cruise lines, but could it be just what you’re looking for?

This Cypriot-owned cruise line is still a relative newcomer to the cruise market, being established in 2014. That’s not long at all, especially when compared to world-famous cruise lines like P&O Cruises which has been cruising for over 180 years!

Celestyal Olympia in Santorini

Celestyal Cruises is a small cruise line by most standards, with only two ships, a handful of embarkation ports and a smaller range of destinations. But, if you like the idea of a port-intensive Greek Island cruise or a specialist itinerary around the Arabian Gulf, then Celestyal Cruises could be just the ticket.

I loved my Greek Islands cruise with Celestyal – so here are 14 reasons why you should consider a cruise with Celestyal Cruises too…

1. Celestyal Cruises are all about the destinations

me in Santorini
Me in Santorini

On a Celestyal cruise, exploring new places is the highlight of your holiday. Yes, the ships are beautiful, but spending time at sea isn’t the main reason to take a cruise with this cruise line.

Each Celestyal cruise focuses on showing you the most exciting, historic and romantic port cities and islands of the eastern Mediterranean or the Middle East. If you want to see a lot of this part of the world in a week or less, a cruise ship is certainly the best way to travel.

Celestyal Cruises visits a relatively small number of countries:

  • Greece
  • Turkey
  • Cyprus
  • Croatia
  • Italy
  • Montenegro
  • Bahrain
  • Oman
  • Qatar
  • UAE

Concentrating on just these destinations, rather than the whole world, means that Celestyal Cruises can be a specialist in this area. Each itinerary is carefully crafted to showcase the most awe-inspiring scenery, architecture and natural wonders as you cruise between volcanic islands to explore vibrant cities and admire beautiful beaches.

Celestyal Cruises offers a choice of three-night, four-night or seven-night itineraries. If you want a longer cruise, you can take two different seven-night cruises back to back to create a 14-night itinerary.

It used to be that each cruise departed from Athens – an easy city to fly to from anywhere in the world. But you do now have more options, including Abu Dhabi and Doha in the Middle East.

As well as popular tourist destinations like Santorini, Mykonos and Istanbul, you can expect to visit lesser-known hidden gems like the Greek islands of Syros and Patmos.

2. Celestyal Cruises call at multiple ports per day

Mykonos
Mykonos

On a three-night cruise, you can expect to visit as many as seven ports of call. This means that on some days, you’ll get off the ship in the early morning, back on-board for lunch and then get off again to explore somewhere new in the afternoon and evening.

To make the most of your cruise, you’ll need to be ready to disembark as early as 7 am.  If your annual leave is running out and you want to pack as much adventure as possible into a short cruise, then a Celestyal cruise is ideal.

Most cruise lines would take at least ten days to visit seven ports, so the fact that Celestyal Cruises can do this in four is amazing. There’s certainly no time to be bored.

You might think that visiting so many ports would make your cruise feel rushed. However, in some ports like Santorini and Istanbul, your ship will dock overnight and popular ports like Mykonos have 24-hour stays on some itineraries.

To make the most of your time on-board, you can board the ship as early as 9 am on embarkation day, for a sailaway before lunch.

3. Excursions deals are available with Celestyal Cruises

Ephesus

Each Celestyal cruise offers a huge range of excursion options that you can book. You can choose what you’d like to see – whether that be to experience new cultures, learn about ancient history or just find somewhere scenic to relax.

Specialist local expert guides will take you to attractions like Ephesus and the Palace of Knossos – all without you having to pay a penny more!

And to sweeten the deal, you can save on excursion bundles – up to 20% off depending on how many you book!

4. Celestyal Cruise ships are spacious and relaxing

Each of the Celestyal Cruises ships is medium-sized, with lots of space to relax. Many cruisers feel that this is the ideal size for a cruise ship – small enough to reach the ports that bigger cruise ships can’t access, yet big enough to offer a choice of dining and entertainment options.

Celestyal Cruises ships can accommodate the following guests:

  • Celestyal Discovery – 1,266 guests
  • Celestyal Journey – 1,258 guests

5. There are no set dining times on Celestyal Cruises

The Amalthea restaurant
The Amalthea restaurant

There’s no need to rush to arrive for dinner at your allocated time, as Celestyal Cruises have a much more relaxed approach to dining.

Food is served at the following times:

  • Breakfast – 6 am until 9 am
  • Lunch – 12 pm until 2 pm
  • Afternoon tea: 4 pm until 5 pm
  • Dinner – 7.30 pm until 10.30 pm

Outside of these times, you’ll find that plenty of snacks are available.

6. Celestyal Cruises offer several different formal nights

Live music in the Main Dining Room
Live music in the Main Dining Room

If you like a formal night then you’ll love the different evening events that take place on Celestyal ships:

  • Gala nights – Formal dress
  • Captain’s Cocktail nights – Formal dress
  • Greek nights – Dress in blue and white (the colours of the Greek flag)

If formal nights aren’t your thing, you’ll be relieved to know that there’s no pressure to dress up. On most evenings, the dress code is smart-casual.

7. Celestyal Cruises include soft drinks

Drinks with a view on board

Celestyal Cruises did used to offer some all-inclusive fares, but they’ve moved away from that now. Instead, they have a simple fare that includes unlimited free pour sodas with your meals, along with tea, coffee and juice.

Then if you want any alcoholic drinks, you’ll just pay for them individually, or you can prepay a drinks tab and get bonus credit included as a special deal.

8. There are no gratuities to pay on Celestyal Cruises

Enjoying drinks on-board
Enjoying drinks on-board

While we all want to recognise the great service that cruise ship staff provide, nobody likes getting a big bill at the end of their cruise.

Celestyal cruise line includes all staff tips in the price of your cruise ticket, which means that you can relax knowing that’s all taken care of. If you wanted to tip any extra in cash to certain staff members you can do, but this is in no way expected.

9. Celestyal Cruises are very affordable

Celestytal Olympia
Cruising around the Greek Islands

The ticket price for a Celestyal cruise includes all your food, soft drinks, tips, and two shore excursions, so it represents amazing value for money. If you were to stay in hotels, eat out on land and take guided excursions this would undoubtedly cost you a lot more. A Celestyal cruise is one of the most affordable ways to travel in the eastern Mediterranean.

As most people will need flights to get to Athens, these can be packaged up, along with transfers and a pre-cruise hotel stay to create a great-value package holiday.

10. Celestyal Cruises offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine

baklava
Baklava

One highlight of a Celestyal cruise is the delicious locally-sourced food. Guests can enjoy pizzas cooked in a wood-burning oven, Greek gyros and an outdoor barbecue.

Celestyal cruise ships each have an authentic Greek feel. You can eat al-fresco on white wooden chairs whilst enjoying the wonderful sea views. Some of the bars have Greek names and are decorated with Greek flags. You’ll definitely know you’re in Greece!

At breakfast, you can expect international dishes with a Greek twist, including freshly baked muffins and Danish pastries, healthy Greek yoghurts and fresh fruit, as well as a full hot buffet.

At lunch and dinner, you can enjoy starters, salads, soups, a choice of main courses and the most incredible desserts, all paired with locally-sourced wines.

If you have a special diet such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or halal, you’ll be well-catered for on board. You’ll just need to communicate your request in good time before you travel. You can see photos of the vegan food I enjoyed on board in my Celestyal Cruises review.

11. Each Celestyal Cruise has a jam-packed program of activities

Music and dancing in the evenings
Music and dancing in the evenings

The whole time your ship is at sea there’ll be something to do. On a Celestyal cruise, the activities start early and continue all day long and well into the evening.

Examples of on-board activities include:

  • Dancing lessons
  • Exercise classes
  • Handicraft
  • Lectures
  • Sports tournaments
  • Language lessons
  • Live shows
  • Traditional Greek music
  • Karaoke nights
  • Circus shows

That’s not to say that you need to take part in everything, of course. If you’d rather sit and watch the ocean scenery with a quiet drink then there’ll be lots of time for that too.

12. Celestyal Cruises attract all kinds of guests

Me with Celestyal Olympia
Me with Celestyal Olympia, a ship that used to sail for the cruise line

Celestyal is a cruise line that attracts guests of all ages. Many are over 50, but there are lots of younger people on board too, and in the school holidays there will be plenty of families.

You can expect an international crowd, as Celestyal cruises are popular with guests from over 140 different countries.

Although Celestyal Cruises is a Cypriot-owned cruise line that’s based in Greece, you don’t need to worry about understanding the language at all. There are usually about eight different languages spoken at any given time, so you’ll be able to communicate in whichever you’re fluent in.

13. Celestyal Cruises offers reasonable prices for solo travellers

With Celestyal, single supplements are just 30% of the cruise fare for inside, outside and balcony cabins. This means that, unlike most other cruise lines which would charge you double, you’ll only pay for yourself plus 30%. If you want a suite to yourself, the supplement is 70%.

These solo-friendly fares have earned Celestyal Cruises an award as the best ocean cruise line for solo travellers in the Solo Travel Awards.

14. Celestyal Cruises are great for kids

Kids club on Celestyal Olympia
Kids club

You’ll find lots of children onboard Celestyal Cruises’ ships during the summer season. Kids can enjoy organised activities on a daily basis during the hours when the ship is at sea. As long as you don’t expect waterslides and zip lines, your kids are sure to have a great time.

A Celestyal cruise can be an educational experience for children of all ages and they’ll learn a lot while visiting destinations like the palace of Knossos in Crete and the ruins of Ephesus in Turkey.

On Celestyal cruises, babies can cruise from three months of age. Most other cruise lines require them to be at least six months old. So if you can’t wait to see the world with your newest addition to the family, then this would be a great option.

Conclusion

Celestyal Cruises seems like a great option for anyone looking to experience the best bits of Greece and Turkey on a cruise. The itineraries are short and action-packed.

This cruise line offers outstanding value for money, including things like soft drinks, tips and WiFi, which most other cruise companies would charge extra for.

If you’re wondering whether a Celestyal cruise would be good for families, I think that this seems like a holiday that most kids would enjoy. This cruise line is certainly on my list of cruises that I’d love to take with my kids once we’re able to.
