Cruise Line Waves Single Supplements on Cruises in 2025

Single supplements are fees that solo passengers pay when taking a cruise since most cabins are priced based on double occupancy.

tauck cruises

Tauck has announced that they are waiving all single supplements in Category 1 cabins for cruises this year. The cruise line said that this applies to over 250 departures in 2025.

In addition to the no single supplement in Category 1 cabins, solo cruisers who book a Category 4 or 5 cabin will receive up to $1,000 off 52 departures on 22 itineraries.

For land journeys, the cruise line is reducing single supplements by up to $600 on 84 departures. This applies to 39 tours in five continents.

On its popular European tours, Tauck has reduced the single supplement by up to $400 on 42 departures of 18 different journeys, including the cruise line’s iconic 14-day Classic Italy itinerary.

Other tours with reduced solo pricing include trips in:

  • Germany and Central Europe
  • France
  • Spain
  • Portugal
  • Great Britain
  • Scandinavia

Land journeys in North America are up to $300 off with the biggest savings being on trips to Asia, Africa, Latin American and the Middle East. These tours are up to $600 off the single supplement fares.

Tauck CEO, Jennifer Tombaugh, gave the following statement this change in cruise fares for solo travelers:

“As much as our solo guests appreciate the great savings, they also embrace the wonderful sense of assurance and support they feel when traveling with Tauck. In addition, they love that all of the planning and logistics are taken care of.

“Everything they would normally have to arrange by themselves – hotel and restaurant reservations, sightseeing, on-site navigation and transportation – all are expertly handled by Tauck. All our guests need to do is select their trip and departure date, and we do the rest.”

Tauck is a family-owned river cruise line that’s celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2025.

sea-day-itinerary.jpg

My Quiet Sea Day Itinerary

I love big cruise ships, but I also hate crowds. That’s a tricky one, right?

However, if going on 40 cruises has taught me anything, it’s that ships are only crowded because everyone tries to go to the same places at the same times!

My experience has taught me when the busy times are for each venue on the ship. And so if I want a quiet day, I’ll plan my own itinerary that goes against the norm. It’s so much more relaxing that way.

If you fancy giving that a go, here’s my itinerary for a quiet day.

7 am – Breakfast

An empty cruise ship buffet

On a sea day, most people will take the opportunity to have a lie in and will head to the buffet 30 mins before it closes. On big ships that enfore handwashing, you’ll have to queue to get inside and then do several laps before you spot a free table.

But if you’re willing to get up early and arrive at the buffet when it opens, you can have your pick of virtually any table, and the hottest freshest food too!

8 am – Swim in The Pool

Cruise Mummy enjoying the pool with nobody around

While you may see a few people putting towels down, the pool area is virtually empty before 9am.

So if you want to swim some lengths, have a hot tub to yourself or even go down the water slides without queueing at the top, now is the perfect time.

Whatever you do, don’t go to the gym. It will be rammed at this time. We’ll save that for later.

10 am – Enjoy The Entertainment

Bridge class

Cruise ships have all kinds of entertainment inside, such as dance classes, trivia, lectures, cookery classes and art workshops. When I cruised with Fred. Olsen I played bridge every day at 10 am and it was so relaxing!

So take a look at the daily planner that the cruise line gives you and decide which one you fancy.

11 am – Visit The Casino

The vibrant casino on Costa Smeralda with electronic roulette tables and a variety of slot machines, all set against a decorative blue carpet with golden patterns, creating an exciting gaming atmosphere.

On cruise ships, Maritime law states that the casinos are only allowed to open when the ship is in international waters. That means that a sea day is a great time to go.

On some ships, the slots are open the whole time the ship is at sea. Table games might not open until later, so check your ship’s schedule for the exact times.

But if you want your pick of any machine, the morning is a great time to go.

12 pm – Lunch in the Main Dining Room

Main dining room lunch

You ate breakast early, so by 12 pm you’ll probably be ready for lunch. Meanwhile, everyone who had breakfast at 10 is nowhere near hungry.

For some reason, a lot of people forget that the main dining room exists at lunch time. Instead, they crowd into the buffet or grab a burger or a slice of pizza to eat by the pool.

If you’re one of the first people to arrive at the main dining room for lunch it will be very quiet, meaning you get quick service and a relaxed atmosphere.

1 pm – Go To The Pub

Enjoying games in the pub

Many people don’t visit the indoor bars on a cruise ship until the evening. So now’s the time to enjoy a quiet pint.

If you fancy a go on the pool table or the dart board, now’s the time that it’s most likely to be available.

2 pm – Watch A Movie

Neverland Cinema on a Disney cruise

Many cruise ships have onboard cinemas which can be hard to get into after dinner.

However, if you head to a matinee showing, you should have no problem getting a seat.

If your ship doesn’t have a cinema, you may be able to enjoy a movie on the TV in your stateroom. Failing that, grab a book from the library and enjoy some chill time.

4 pm – Enjoy A Poolside Snack

Donald's Cantina on Disney Treasure

I love the food by the pool on cruise ships. While the poolside snack bars can get very busy at lunchtime, if you arrive at 4pm you can treat yourself to a salad, tacos, pizza, hot dog or fries without having to queue.

Most people don’t want to eat at this time as it’s too close to dinner. But don’t worry, dinner is a still way off for us.

5 pm – The Most Fun Activities

What the mini golf looks like

Cruise ships generally have two dining times, early and late. Families usually choose the early one, so by 5pm they’re all getting ready for dinner.

This is the perfect time to have a go at all the activities that have been busy with kids. Depending on your ship and it’s schedule, you might be able to have a go on the mini golf, the rock climbing wall, the sports court or the bowling alley without it being crowded with children.

6 pm – Relax In The Spa

empty sauna on a cruise ship

There’s nothing more frustrating than paying for a pass to the thermal suite and then not being abler to use it because the steam room, sauna and hot tub are all full.

Instead, I like to head there at about 6pm when it’s much quieter and you have a much better chance of finding a vacant heated bed to relax on.

7 pm – Hit The Gym

cruise ship gym

Most cruise ship gyms are open for guests from 6 am until 10 pm. In reality, very few people visit the gym in the evening.

You may find that 10 pm until 6 am, the gym is reserved for crew members. However, on the biggest and newest ships, crew members have their own gym, so the gym may be open 24 hours.

8pm – Get Ready For Dinner

Cruise Mummy on the balcony in the evening

This is one of the busiest time on the ship. Everybody is out and about. The bars will all be full with people having either an after-dinner drink or a pre-dinner drink, depending on their dining time.

But don’t worry, we’ll be heading back to the room to get changed for dinner.

If you have a balcony, now’s the time to enjoy a quiet glass of wine on it. If you’re luck, you’ll watch the sunset without anyone spoiling your view.

9 pm – Dinner

Adam falling asleep in dinner

If you’re cruising with kids then dining at 9 pm won’t work for you. But if you’re child-free, then later is better if you want to avoid the rush.

If your ship has flexible dining times, you should have no problem with arriving at 9 pm for dinner. I find that this is the quietest time.

If there are fixed times, then choose the later one, which may be 8.30. You can arrive up to 15 minutes late without a problem, but I wouldn’t leave it any later than that.

Or, for an even more relaxed experience, I recommend that you opt for either the buffet or a speciality restaurant. These are always the quietest places to eat un the evening.

10 pm – Watch A Show

quiet theatre on a ship

You’ll need to check your daily planner for the showtimes for your ship. But I usually find the later shows to be quieter, particularly if the show starts at 10 pm or later and the ship has a lot of children.

11 pm – Go For A Walk

Adult pool at night on Disney Dream

I love the outside areas of a cruise ship at night. The pools always look so pretty when they’re lit up. And if you’re lucky, they might still be open so you can enjoy a late-night dip.

If your ship has a promenade deck it will be empty at this time, so you can enjoy a peaceful evening stroll.

In warm weather, the outdoor bars will be open until late so why not head out and enjoy a nightcap under the stars before bed?

What Do You Think Of This Itinerary?

The ship being too busy is a common complaint on large cruise ships. But it is one that you can avoid.

Choosing a smaller ship will certainly help. I’ve cruised on ships with just 100 guests, and they have bars and restaurants that can seat every single guest at the same time, so you never have to worry about getting a seat. Plus, with just three or four decks, there’s never a queue for the elevator as most people never us it!

A smaller cruise ship with plenty of sun loungers

I would also recommend avoiding cruises in the school holidays if you can. That’s because each ship squeezes on a lot more people when children are involved.

Let’s take Icon of the Seas, for example. Royal Caribbean’s ship accommodates 5,610 guests, based on two people in each cabin…

But, when every cabin is at maximum capacity and additional beds are used for kids, the ship accommodates 7,600.

That’s an extra 2,000 people!

Disney Treasure Restaurants Guide

If there’s one thing that I loved about my cruise on the Disney Treasure, it was the food. Disney cruises are known for amazing cuisine and immersive dining experiences, and Disney’s new ship did not disappoint

In this guide, I’ll show you all of the restaurants on the Disney Treasure.

The photo above is of a vegan breakdfast that I enjoyed onbord, so if you happen to be vegan, then you should also check out my guide to Disney cruise vegan dining, which has some more details on that.

The Restaurants On The Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure has three rotational dining restaurants, two adult-only speciality restaurants, a buffet-style restaurant, a food court with five different outlets and a dessert store.

All of these dining options are included in your cruise fare, with the exception of the two speciality restaurants – Enchanté and Palo.

List of Dining Options on the Disney Treasure:

Rotational Main Dining:

  1. 1923
  2. Worlds of Marvel
  3. Plaza de Coco

Specialty Restaurants (Adult-Exclusive):

  1. Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement
  2. Palo Steakhouse

Casual Dining:

  1. Marceline Market
  2. Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods

Room Service

Disney Treasure Rotational Dining

Like all Disney cruise ships, the Disney Treasure has rotational dining. This means that you eat in a different restaurant each night and your waiters come with you.

As Disney Treasure only does three- and four-night cruises, this gives guests the opportunity to sample all of the main dining rooms on board.

Here’s some more information about each of the rotational dining restaurants on the Disney Treasure…

1923

1923 Disney Treasure

Named after the year that The Walt Disney Company was founded, this elegant 20s-style restaurant serves dishes inspired by California’s varied heritage.

I love the decor of this restaurant, which reminded me of my Grandma’s house. Kids are given an activity booklet to keep them busy. But, if you’re thinking of skipping one of the rotational dining restaurants to eat in a speciality restaurant while the kids are in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, then I would say that this is the one to miss.

Worlds of Marvel

World of Marvel

Worlds of Marvel is more than just a restaurant on the Disney Treasure. It’s a cinematic dining adventure where guests will play an interactive role in an Avengers mission while enjoying world cuisine.

Guests can enjoy two distinct interactive shows during their voyage:

Avengers: Quantum Encounter – This experience features Ant-Man and The Wasp demonstrating advanced technology, with appearances by other Avengers, including Spider-Man.

Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix – Exclusive to the Disney Treasure, this show stars Rocket and Groot from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

Plaza De Coco

Plaza De Coco

Exclusive to the Disney Treasure, this is the world’s first theatrical dining experience themed to Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.” Guests are transported to Santa Cecilia, enjoying live entertainment and modern twists on traditional Mexican fare.

While the characters do a tour of the room, some tables do get a much better view than others.

If you’re a Concierge-level guest, then I definitely recommend speaking to your Concierge host in advance to ask if they might be able to secure you a table at the front for this one.

Disney Treasure Speciality Restaurants

Enchanté

Enchanté

Enchanté offers French-inspired cuisine from a fine dining menu crafted by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement. You can enjoy an evening meal, a Champagne brunch or if you have a sweet tooth there’s a five-course ‘Just Desserts’ experience.

As you enter, look out for Lumiere, he’s hiding amongst the candelabras on the wall!

Palo Steakhouse

Palo Steakhouse

The ever-popular Palo restaurant on Disney cruise ships has had a slight name tweak on the Disney Treasure and it is now called Palo Steakhouse.

In a beautiful setting inspired by Cogsworth, from Beauty and the Beast, the show-stopping menu includes a selection of Italian dishes as well as the world’s best steaks. For dessert, you won’t want to miss the signature Palo chocolate souffle.

Disney Treasure Casual Dining Options

As well as the main dining restaurants, Disney Treasure has a host of other casual eateries that are open around the clock.

Marcelline Market

Marcelline Market

Disney’s buffet restaurant on the Disney Treasure is called Marceline Market. It features lots of little outlets that are inspired by street food markets from around the world.

The menu changes all the time – don’t miss the extra couple of options around the back! There’s a choice of indoor and outdoor seating, all with spectacular ocean views.

My tip is to sit outside and enjoy the most stunning views on the ship.

Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods

Donald's Cantina

This open-air food court on the Disney Treasure features five different eateries:

  • Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue
  • Donald’s Cantina
  • Daisy’s Pizza Pies
  • Goofy’s Grill
  • Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream

It’s open for lunch, dinner and any time in between with tasty fast food options that the whole family will love. Food is made fresh to order and you can eat it poolside on the outdoor tables that are shaded from the sun.

Periscope Pub

The pub on Disney Treasure, The Keg & Compass, offers a ‘pub grub’ menu with classics like fish and chips, bangers and mash and steak and ale pie.

These are all available for an extra charge. There are some good vegan and vegetarian options here too, with fishless fish and plant-based chicken tenders.

Jumbeaux’s Sweets

Jumbeaux's Sweets

Jumbeaux’s Sweets is a dessert store that’s inspired by the movie Zootopia. Themed after the ice cream parlour run by Jumbeaux the elephant in the movie, it offers a selection of frozen treats like gelato and ice cream, as well as other sweet delights

Everything costs a little extra here, but it’s definitely worth a visit, even if just for a look around.

Room Service

Disney cruise room service

Your final dining option onboard Disney Treasure is to order room service via your stateroom telephone. You can see the menu on your Disney Cruise Line app once you’re onbaord.

Room service is free on Disney cruises, but it’s polite to tip the person who brings it a couple of dollars to show your appreciation.

Disney Treasure Staterooms and Suites Guide

Disney Treasure has 1,254 staterooms, offering a range of accommodations to suit different tastes and budgets.

To help you choose the best stateroom for your cruise on the Disney Treasure, I’ve put together this detailed guide with information about each of the different stateroom categories.

When I cruised on the Disney Treasure, I was lucky enough to be able to visit lots of different staterooms and suites. I really got a feel for which were the best, and I’ll share that info with you now.

Disney Treasure Stateroom Categories

Each stateroom or suite on the Disney Treasure is assigned a category number. These start at 1A for the exclusive Tower Suite, all the way down to 11C for the cheapest inside cabins.

The table below shows all of the different room categories on the Disney Treasure, along with how many people can sleep in each room and the size, including the balcony.

Room Categories Sleeps Size in square feet (square metres)
Concierge Tomorrow Tower Suite 1A 8 1,966 (185)
Concierge 2-Story Royal Suite with Verandah 1B 6 1,759 (165)
Concierge 1-Story Royal Suite with Verandah 1C 6 1,507 (142)
Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Extended Verandah 2A 5 1,031 (97)
Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah 2B 5 608 (56)
Concierge Family Oceanview with Verandah 3A 5 296 (27.5)
Concierge Family Oceanview 3B 5 357 (33)
Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah 4A, 4B, 4C, 4E 4 284 (26)
Deluxe Oceanview with Veranda 5A, 5B, 5C, 6A, 6B, 7A 4 243 (22.5)
Deluxe Family Oceanview 8B, 8C 5 237 (22)
Deluxe Oceanview 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D 4 218 (20)
Standard Inside 11A, 11B, 11C 4 169 (15.7)

On any cruise ship, some rooms are less desirable than others. If you’re choosing a stateroom on the Disney Treasure, I recommend you grab a copy of my free checklist that will help you avoid any rooms in bad locations:

If you’re specifically booking for a larger group, check out my guide to the Disney Staterooms and Suites for Big Families.

Now, let’s take a closer look at each of the different rooms on Disney Wish that you have to choose from.

Tomorrow Tower Suite

Category 1A

The top suite on the ship is the Tomorrow Tower Suite, which is themed around EPCOT. This gorgeous suite is located inside the funnel, which gives it the nickname of Disney Treasure Funnel Suite.

There’s only one Tower Suite on the Disney Treasure, and it’s in high demand. The price of a cruise in this suite varies depending on the sailing and how many people are staying in it. But you can expect to pay somewhere between $30,000 and $100,000 for a three- or four-night cruise.

Due to its unusual location inside the ship’s funnel, the Tower Suite doesn’t have a balcony. However, it does have two main bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a large two-storey living area, a dining room, a library, a pantry, a bar and a grand spiral staircase.

On the other side of the funnel is a large TV screen. The Slide-a-saurus Rex slide begins from within the funnel, and the AquaMouse slide passes right through.

Cruise Mummy with funnel on Diensy Treasure

The Funnel Suite sleeps eight people comfortably. The two main bedrooms each have king-size beds, there’s a children’s bedroom with bunk beds, and another queen-size bed comes down from a wall in the library.

The Tower Suite has five televisions, motorised blackout blinds, and real feather duvets with a choice of pillow options. Guests will enjoy the use of robes and slippers as well as free Wi-Fi for the whole cruise. The decor is inspired by the movie Moana.

Disney Treasure Royal Suites

Category 1B (2-Story Royal Suite) and Category 1C (1-Story Royal Suite)

Disney Treasure has two types of Royal Suite: a two-storey option and a single-storey option. There are two of each category on the ship, each with decor inspired by beloved Disney characters and stories.

The two-storey Royal Suites draw inspiration from The Jungle Book and Aladdin, while the single-storey Royal Suites feature themes inspired by Princess Jasmine’s Rajah and Bagheera the Panther.

The 2-Story Royal Suites are arguably the best suites on the ship, and they’re my favourites. Each has two main bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a large living area, an open dining room, pantry, wet bar and a large verandah with a whirlpool tub.

The single-storey Royal Suites are around 14% smaller than the 2-Story Royal Suites. However, some would say that the location at the aft corners of Deck 10 is better, with less wind and swaying to contend with.

The 1-Story Royal Suites have all of the same amenities as the double-storey Suites, including that all-important hot tub on the balcony!

To help you choose your cabin on Disney Treasure, I’ve created a cabin checklist that you can get for free. Just enter your email address below, and you’ll receive it in your inbox straight away.

Disney Treasure 1-Bedroom Suites

Category 2A (1-Bedroom Suite with Extended Verandah) and Category 2B (1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah)

There are 18 1-Bedroom Suites on the Disney Treasure, of which two have the extended verandah. While the regular 1-Bedroom Suites are rectangular, the Extended Verandah 1-Bedroom Suites are oddly shaped with a huge verandah at the front of Deck 12.

Each 1-Bedroom Suite sleeps five guests. They have a separate bedroom with king-size bed, a living area with a double convertible sofa bed, and a single bed that pulls down from the wall.

Each Suite has two full bathrooms, a living room, a wet bar, luxurious decor inspired by The Lion King, two TVs, robes, slippers and 100MB of free Wi-Fi.

For guests needing accessible accommodation, Suite 13510 is the one to go for, while 12026 is suited for guests with hearing impairments.

Disney Treasure Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom

Category 3A (Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom With Verandah) and Category 3B (Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom)

For families who want the Disney Concierge benefits (more on those below) without the expense of a full Suite, the Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms are ideal.

Those on Decks 12 and 13 feature a verandah, while those on Deck 11 instead have floor-to-ceiling windows looking forwards just above the bridge. The rooms without a balcony are a little larger, particularly if you go for one of the corner rooms.

11504 is reserved for guests with mobility needs, but 11006 is a large room that can be booked by anyone.

Each stateroom sleeps four or five guests with a king-size bed, single sofa bed, single Pullman bed, and an extra bed that pulls down from the wall in some rooms. The decor is inspired by The Lion King.

Disney Treasure Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Category 4A, 4B, 4C, 4E

Disney Treasure Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

For families of five, or those wanting a little more space but without the Disney Concierge-level benefits, the best staterooms on Disney Wish are the Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah rooms.

This is the room I stayed in when I cruised on the Disney Treasure and I loved it.

The different letters in category 4 – A, B, C and E (I’m not sure what happened to D) – relate to the location on the ship. 4A are in the best spot on Decks 10 and 11, while the others are a little further away from the open decks.

The 4E staterooms on Disney Treasure are located at the aft of the ship on Decks 6, 9 and 10. These have huge balconies and views over the aft. I would say that these could be the best rooms on Disney Treasure, for the money.

When you look at the Disney Treasure deck plan, you’ll see that there are ‘bump-outs’ on Decks 6 to 10. These are areas where the ship extends outwards. If you choose a category 4 stateroom on a bump-out, you’ll benefit from a larger balcony. So these are worth looking out for.

Each Deluxe Family Oceanview room has a queen bed, a single sofa bed and a pull-down bed. Those rooms that sleep five have an additional pull-down bed from the wall.

Here’s where you’ll find the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandahs:

  • Category 4A: Decks 10 and 11
  • Category 4B: Decks 8 and 9
  • Category 4C: Decks 6 and 7
  • Category 4E: Decks 6, 9 and 10

Disney Treasure Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Category 5A, 5B, 5C, 6A, 6B, 7A

The most popular stateroom type on the Disney Treasure is the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. This is akin to what would be called a standard balcony stateroom on most other cruise ships.

Sleeping three or four people, each room has a queen bed and a single sofa bed. Those rooms that sleep four also have a single pull-down bed.

Again, you’ll want to study the deck plan carefully, as those that are located on the bump-outs have bigger balconies for the same money.

Category 6 staterooms on the Disney Treasure all have a slight obstruction to the view, although I expect that this will be minimal, such as a solid wall at the bottom. If this worries you, go for category 5.

Category 7 staterooms on the Disney Treasure have a ‘Navigator’s Verandah’. These balconies are a little more enclosed than a standard verandah, with a large open-air porthole. On Carnival ships, they’re known as Cove Balconies.

In this video, you can see what a Navigator’s Verandah looks like on the Disney Wish, which is identical…

Here’s where you’ll find the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandahs:

  • Category 5A: Deck 10
  • Category 5B: Decks 8 and 9
  • Category 5C: Decks 6 and 7
  • Category 6A: Decks 8 and 9
  • Category 6B: Decks 6 and 7
  • Category 7A: Decks 6, 7, 8 and 9

Disney Treasure Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom

Categories 8B & 8C

Disney Treasure Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom

Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms have a large round window instead of a balcony. They each sleep either four or five guests and are a little larger than the Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms, with an extra 21 square feet of floor space (around 8% more).

Each room has a queen bed, a single sofa bed and a pull-down bed. Those rooms that sleep five have an additional pull-down bed from the wall.

Here’s where you’ll find the Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms:

  • Category 8B: Decks 8 and 9
  • Category 8C: Decks 6 and 7

Disney Treasure Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Categories 9A, 9B, 9C & 9D

Disney Treasure Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms each sleep three or four guests, and have a large porthole window. If you choose category 9D, the window is slanted.

Each room has a queen bed and a single sofa bed, with some also having a single bed that pulls down from the wall or ceiling.

Category 9B staterooms are all on Deck 2. This is a handy location for the Oceaneer Club, but it’s a long way up to the open decks. If you don’t like to use elevators and prefer to take the stairs, this might be a category to avoid.

Here’s where you’ll find the Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms:

  • Category 9A: Decks 7 and 8
  • Category 9B: Deck 2
  • Category 9C: Decks 7 and 8
  • Category 9D: Decks 6 and 7

Disney Treasure Inside Staterooms

Categories 11A, 11B and 11C

Disney Treasure Inside Staterooms

The cheapest staterooms on the Disney Treasure are Guaranteed Inside Staterooms. With this option, you don’t get to choose your stateroom number. It will be assigned to you based on what’s available closer to the sailing date.

Guaranteed Inside Staterooms are likely to be the worst rooms on the Disney Treasure, although arguably there are no bad rooms on this ship. Plus you have the chance of getting a great one, and may even be upgraded to Ocean View if all of the inside rooms sell out.

The worst staterooms on Disney Treasure are category 11C. As well as having no window or natural light, these are located right down on Deck 2, far away from all of the action. For a better location, choose an 11A or 11B stateroom and try to get one that’s not too far from the elevators.

Inside Staterooms on Disney Treasure are the only ones that don’t feature Disney Cruise Line’s signature split bathrooms. Your toilet will be in the same room as your bath, rather than in a separate room. But you do at least get a bathtub, even in the cheapest inside room. And that’s something reserved for Suite guests on most other cruise lines.

Here’s where you’ll find the Standard Inside Staterooms:

  • Category 11A: Decks 9, 10 and 11
  • Category 11B: Decks 6, 7 and 8
  • Category 11C: Deck 2

The Extras You Get With Disney Wish Concierge Rooms

Disney Cruise Line Suites and selected Staterooms are classed as Concierge Level. These come with some extra in-room amenities and some extra perks.

Here’s what you get:

  • Access to VIP areas of the ship, like the Concierge Lounge
  • Down Duvets and Pillow Menu
  • Robe and Slippers
  • Free Wi-Fi (not unlimited)
  • Chance to pre-reserve activities
  • Services of a Concierge Host
  • Surprise gifts

For more details about exactly what you get with Disney’s Concierge level (and whether Concierge is worth it on the Disney Treasure), take a look at my full guide to Disney Cruise Concierge Perks.

Choosing The Best Deck on Disney Treasure

The best deck to stay on Disney Treasure depends on your own personal preferences. Deck 7 is popular because you’re surrounded by staterooms above and below, so noise is limited. But if you want to be near the pool, choose a higher deck.

Choosing a room on Disney Treasure

Whichever room you choose on the Disney Treasure for your cruise, you’ll enjoy a range of amenities, including:

  • 43-inch TV
  • USB and USB-C ports
  • Large vanity
  • Refrigerator
  • Full-length mirror
  • Safe
  • Hair dryer
  • Phone
  • Climate control
  • Privacy curtain
  • Queen bed and pull-out sofa beds
  • Deluxe toiletries

If you’re on a tight budget, the Inside Staterooms will be more than adequate. I stayed in an Inside Stateroom on the Disney Magic with my family of four, and it was lovely.

You can read what I thought of it here: Disney Magic Cruise Review.

If you prefer a balcony, then my preference would be to go for a category 4E stateroom. These are very spacious, with large balconies and the best views over the wake.

If money is no object and you want something truly magical, then the Tomorrow Suite inside the funnel is the one to go for. Assuming it’s still available for your dates, that is!

A Look at the 7 Cruise Ships Being Added to Carnival’s Fleet

Carnival Cruise Line currently has 27 cruise ships in service, the second most out of all the cruise lines in the world.

Our free cruise newsletter offers the latest news and deals: Sign Up

Carnival Cruise Line cruise ship

Over the next nine years, Carnival Cruise Line will have at least seven more ships added to their fleet. This not only includes newbuilds and a new class of ships, but also some moving over from a sister cruise line.

These seven new ships include:

  • Two moving over from P&O Cruises Australia
  • Two more Excel class ships
  • Three new 230,000 gross ton mega ships

Here is a look at the seven ships being added to Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet.

Two Ships From P&O Cruises Australia

Pacific Adventure will be one of two P&O Cruises Australia ships converted over to Carnival Cruise Line

In March, Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter will go into dry dock and be converted over to Carnival Funships. This is part of Carnival Corporation’s plan to dissolve their P&O Cruises Australia brand.

The cruise ships will continue to offer the same itineraries as they do now, but with entertainment and favorites that Carnival cruise passengers as used to.

However, some of the dining and shows from the P&O Cruises Australia brand will remain since the ships will continue to sail from Australia.

When they enter Carnival’s fleet, the ships will be renamed Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter.

Both cruise ships originally started sailing under sister cruise line Princess Cruises before moving over to P&O Cruises Australia in 2020. Pacific Adventure was Golden Princess and Pacific Encounter sailed as Star Princess.

Both ships are just under 109,000 gross tons in size and are Grand class vessels.

Two Excel Class Ships

The Excel class from Carnival Cruise Line

Excel class cruise ships were the first to have a roller coaster on the top deck. Carnival Cruise Line currently has three in their fleet (Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee) with an order for two more.

The class is currently the largest in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet and all three ships sail to the Caribbean.

Carnival has an order for two more Excel class ships, with one debuting in 2027 and the second a year later in 2028.

The cruise line has yet to release the names and homeports for these two new ships. Both vessels will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

4th Excel Class Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2027
  • 5,400 passengers
  • 183,900 gross tons

5th Excel Class Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2028
  • 5,400 passengers
  • 183,900 gross tons

Three New Mega Ships

Project Pinnacle was a cruise ship prototype from Carnival Cruise Line that was going to be over 200,000 gross tons in size. The project was scrapped years ago.

Over 20 years ago, Carnival was working on a new ship prototype that would be the largest in the world and the first over 200,000 gross tons in size. The cruise line decided not to build the ship and concentrate on ships in the 110,000 to 130,000 GT range.

Fast forward a couple decades and Carnival Cruise Line will finally build cruise ships over 200,000 gross tons. Last July, Carnival Corporation announced an order for three new mega cruise ships that will be nearly 230,000 gross tons.

The first will debut in the summer of 2029 with a new one coming out every two years after through 2033.

Carnival Cruise Line has yet to give any many details about these ships, but they will be built by Fincantieri in Italy and be powered by LNG.

Carnival said that a focus for these new ships will be innovative guest experiences that will take the cruise line into the future. They will also have “FUN features” that will be announced at a later date.

1st Mega Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2029
  • 6,200 passengers
  • 230,000 gross tons

2nd Mega Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2031
  • 6,200 passengers
  • 230,000 gross tons

3rd Mega Ship

  • Scheduled to be completed in 2033
  • 6,200 passengers
  • 230,000 gross tons

Cruise Fever will have all details on these new cruise ships from Carnival when they are announced.

Holland America Line, the cruise line with the longest history of exploring Alaska, announced a $70 million capital investment that will expand guest capacity while elevating the line’s Denali property experience and enhancing its popular land and sea Cruisetours. The investment will build on Holland America’s position with more opportunities for glacier viewing and more ways to see Alaska’s wildlife than any other cruise line.

“It’s truly special that we can bring guests to a lodge at the doorstep of Denali National Park,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line. “This investment is a win for Alaska, our guests, and Holland America Line. Enhancing and expanding the Holland America Denali Lodge will help meet the growing interest in combined land and sea Cruisetours for our 49th state and further support the Alaska tourism industry.”

Key Highlights of the Expansion:

2025: The project will begin with enhancements to the riverside interpretive trail with scenic viewpoints, improved on-site wayfinding, refined menu offerings for restaurants, and public space improvements for the Cottonwood and Canyon Lodge guest room buildings.

AmaWaterways Co-Founders Celebrate Record-Breaking 2024

In 2024, leading river cruise line AmaWaterways achieved record-setting results and received numerous prestigious awards from the travel industry, including Cruise Critic’s top honor, Best River Cruise. As a pioneer in river cruising, the company remains focused on delivering immersive guest experiences and providing exceptional sales and marketing support to its travel partners. In 2025, AmaWaterways is set to build on this momentum, driving innovation and growth with new ships, routes, destinations, and enhanced collaborations with its valued partners.

“River cruising is increasingly appealing to a wider audience, from younger travelers seeking new experiences to multi-generational families. 2025 sales are already tracking 31% higher than 2024 results at the same time last year,” says Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways. “We are meeting this demand with expanded offerings, including increased capacity on European rivers, two ships debuting on Colombia’s Magdalena River, and a new ship on the popular Douro River in Portugal. These developments are part of a broader commitment to innovation – it’s not just about growing our fleet; it’s about expanding the very concept of what a river cruise can be.”

New Ships & Itineraries For 2025

In 2025, AmaWaterways will introduce a range of new itineraries and ships, providing travelers with unique opportunities to explore the world’s rivers. New offerings include:

With 15 departures in 2025 and 14 in 2026, this itinerary includes early-season sailings – Rudi’s favorite time to see the Danube – departing February 23 and March 2, 2025 aboard the award-winning AmaMagna. Later departures will feature AmaBella, AmaReina, AmaViola, and AmaLea.
  • Grand River Cruises: These 14-night journeys combine two popular seven-night itineraries, such as the Grand Seine & Rhône or Grand Danube, for an immersive experience. Guests can enjoy convenient transfers and even more opportunities to explore diverse landscapes, historic cities, and charming villages across multiple countries, giving ample time to discover and appreciate local cultures.
  • AmaSintra in Portugal: This new ship will join the fleet on the popular Douro River in April, offering guests enhanced opportunities to explore the beauty, vineyards and culture of Portugal on the 7-night Enticing Douro itinerary.
  • AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia in Colombia: Two state-of-the-art, custom-designed ships will debut on Colombia’s waterways in March and June, 2025. The 64-guest AmaMelodia and 60-guest AmaMagdalena will offer luxurious accommodations on two seven-night itineraries: Magic of Colombia and Wonders of Colombia. Highlights include curated excursions such as a vibrant Carnaval celebration in Barranquilla, live jazz performances, authentic paola rides, and historical walking tours.

“We are so appreciative of the love and support we continue to receive from our valued guests and travel partners,” said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice-president. “Our current success and positive outlook for 2025 wouldn’t be possible without the trust and support of our travel advisor partners. 2025 is shaping up to be our most exciting year yet. We are thrilled to offer our guests the opportunity to experience Colombia like never before, with exclusive access to remote destinations often inaccessible by other means of travel. We are proud to open the doors to hidden gems, allowing our guests to interact with indigenous communities and explore untouched natural wonders.”
