Cruise with Jane McDonald & Friends 2026 is back and already causing serious buzz across the UK cruise scene. After the 2025 sailing sold out and delivered one of the most talked-about cruise experiences of the year, this next edition is expected to go even bigger.
And yes, cabins are already being snapped up.
Cruise with Jane McDonald & Friends 2026
This isn’t just a cruise. It’s a full entertainment experience at sea, hosted by the UK’s Queen of Cruising herself.
What Makes the Jane McDonald Cruise So Special?
There are cruises… and then there are cruises with Jane McDonald onboard.
Sailing on 2nd October 2026 for 7 nights aboard Ambassador Cruise Line’s Ambience, this exclusive charter blends live shows, guest appearances and unforgettable moments you simply won’t get anywhere else.
Here’s what’s waiting onboard:
Two brand-new headline performances from Jane
An intimate “Afternoon with Jane – Songs from the Piano”
Appearances throughout the cruise including quizzes and bingo
Special guest performers (with more still to be revealed)
It’s relaxed, it’s fun, and it feels personal. You’re not just watching from a distance – you’re part of it.
The 2026 Itinerary – 7 Nights, 3 Countries, Plenty to Explore
Departing from London Tilbury, this no flying round-trip sailing takes you through some of Northern Europe’s most loved destinations.
Stops include:
Amsterdam (via IJmuiden) – canals, culture and easy exploring
Zeebrugge – perfect for a day trip into Bruges
Cherbourg – classic French coastal charm
Honfleur – one of Normandy’s most beautiful harbour towns
You’ve got a great balance here – time ashore to explore, plus sea days where the real magic onboard happens.
Life Onboard Ambience – Easy, Social, Proper Cruising
The ship hosting it all is Ambience, Ambassador Cruise Line’s flagship and a favourite with UK cruisers.
Think traditional cruising done properly, without the fuss.
Onboard, you’ll find:
Full-board dining across a range of venues
West End-style shows in the Palladium theatre
Bars, lounges and live music throughout the ship
Spa, gym, pool and wellness activities
Gala evenings and classic cruise touches
And then, of course, you’ve got Jane bringing the atmosphere to life across the week.
Why This Cruise Sells Out So Fast
The 2025 cruise didn’t hang around. It sold out quickly and left a lot of people wishing they had booked sooner.
That demand hasn’t gone anywhere.
There are a few simple reasons why this one flies:
Limited cabins on a fully chartered ship
A genuinely unique onboard experience
A loyal UK following that knows how good this is
The chance to combine travel, music and entertainment in one trip
Once people have done it once, they want back on.
How to Book the Jane McDonald Cruise 2026
If this is on your radar, don’t sit on it too long.
You can check availability and secure your cabin on the Jane McDonald Cruise by visiting the Southampton Cruise Centre website or by calling their UK based cruise team on 02380 658 386.
Outside cabins start from just £1,299 per person with upgrades to balcony and suites available, and don’t forget to ask us about the ‘Ambassador Fare’ which includes drinks and gratuities, from just £199 per person.
If you’re still just browsing, you can explore a wider range of cruises to compare and plan your next trip.
This One Won’t Wait Around
This isn’t one of those cruises you come back to “later”.
The last sailing proved exactly what happens – it sells out, and it sells out quickly.
If you’re even thinking about it, now’s the time to get it locked in.
Because by the time October 2026 rolls around, the ship will be full, the shows will be in full swing… and the only thing worse than missing it will be hearing how good it was from everyone who went.
A new Disney cruise ship in Japan is one step closer to becoming a reality after today it was announced that the project has moved into its next major phase.
While the partnership was first introduced in 2024, Oriental Land Co., Ltd. officially confirmed today that its Board of Directors has approved the establishment of Oriental Land Cruise Co., Ltd.
This new company will operate under the public name Disney Cruise Line Japan, and a sister ship to Disney Wish is expected to debut and sail out of Japan starting in 2029 but perhaps a little sooner.
How the Partnership Works
Basically, Disney doesn’t own any part of the Japanese company. Instead, Oriental Land Cruise Co. (OLC) company simply pays Disney a license and royalty fee to use their characters and branding.
While OLC owns and operates the business independently, Disney provides the creative “magic” and the branding power that is known world-wide.
A Sister Ship to the Disney Wish
The new ship will be registered in Japan and will structurally be about the same Disney’s Wish-class ships, except with some modifications and changes for the Asian market.
The vessel will be 140,000 gross tons in size with 1,250 staterooms and a capacity around 4,000 passengers. Construction is scheduled to start in the second half of 2026 and will take place at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Note that Disney Cruise Line just recently announced the name of their fourth Wish-class ship, Disney Believe, which will debut in late 2027. This Wish-class vessel has no connection to the Disney Cruise Line Japan ship.
Launch Timeline & Leadership
According to the press release, Ryotaro Shiiba has been named as the Representative Director and President of Oriental Land Cruise., Ltd.
The first cruises are expected to launch in Japanese fiscal year 2028 (which runs from April 1, 2028, through March 31, 2029).
But could more ships be on the way?
The official press release from Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) includes a specific line that hints at that possibility.
While only one ship is currently scheduled for 2029, the company used the plural “ships” when explaining why they are starting this new subsidiary:
“As part of this initiative, the Company has decided to establish a subsidiary to accelerate the commercialization of its cruise business and to manage and operate its future cruise ships in a specialized and agile manner.”

Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line is launching a talent search for performers to join the live entertainment lineup at Zac Brown’s Same Boat, an intimate music venue aboard the upcoming Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber. Inspired by the spirit and storytelling of Zac Brown’s hit song “Same Boat,” the search seeks artists who can bring connection, authenticity, and energy to the stage.
Following the call for submissions, selected performers will be invited to live auditions at the Margaritaville Hotel in Nashville, the heart of America’s singer-songwriter culture. Invitation-only auditions will take place from May 12-15, culminating in a final-day open casting call on May 16 at Margaritaville Restaurant on Broadway, offering additional performers a chance to showcase their talent.
Selected performers will then join the official entertainment roster aboard Beachcomber, performing in a professionally produced venue designed to highlight intimate, acoustic-driven performances and original storytelling. Contracts are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, offering a unique opportunity to connect with audiences in a one-of-a-kind cruise experience.
“Same Boat is set to become the most exciting live music venue at sea and working with Zac Brown to bring it to life has been incredible,” said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. “With Nashville’s Broadway helping set the tone, we’re creating a stage that will bring rising talent to Beachcomber.”
Beginning in 2027, guests may sail from PortMiami on Beachcomber, the cruise line’s latest and largest vessel, with 4- to 8-night itineraries to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean.

A cruise cabin is more than just a place to sleep. It can completely change how you experience the trip.
Some cruisers happily book the cheapest inside room. Others insist on an ocean view for the light. But after dozens of cruises in every type of cabin, one option stands out every time.
A balcony cabin doesn’t just give you a nicer room. It changes the way you see the ocean, the ports, and even the quiet moments in between.
And once you notice the small detail that makes balcony cabins so special, it’s surprisingly hard to go back.
TODAY’S BEST CRUISE DEALS!
Don’t miss these offers…
The real difference is simple: you can enjoy the ocean whenever you want, without sharing it with anyone else.
On a cruise ship, the best views are usually on busy decks packed with people. With a balcony, the view comes to you. No crowds, no rushing for a sun lounger, no fighting for space at the rail.
Why Balcony Cabins Are Worth the Upgrade
Many people see balcony cabins as a splurge. But once you try one, it’s easy to see why so many cruisers refuse to go back.
Natural Light and Fresh Air
Waking up to daylight streaming through the curtains is one of life’s simple joys. A balcony cabin gives you the fresh air and open views that make mornings at sea feel special.
Your Own Private Retreat
Cruise ships are busy places, but a balcony gives you space to retreat whenever you need it. Whether it’s five minutes with a coffee or a whole afternoon with a book, it’s your little sanctuary.
Sunrises, Sunsets and Everything In Between
From watching your ship glide into port to sipping wine as the sun sets, a balcony lets you enjoy the best views without leaving your room or battling the crowds on deck.
Those quiet moments often become the memories you treasure most.
The Best Destinations Where a Balcony Cabin Is Essential
While a balcony is always nice to have, there are some cruises where it really does make all the difference.
Norwegian Fjords
When the scenery is the star of the show, as it is in the Norwegian Fjords, a balcony is unbeatable.
You’ll have waterfalls and fjords right outside your door – what more could you ask for?
The Mediterranean
Imagine having breakfast on your balcony while watching the ship dock in Santorini, or enjoying a late-night glass of wine as the lights of Barcelona twinkle in the distance. Bliss!
Caribbean Cruises
The heat can make busy decks feel overwhelming.
A balcony gives you a shady, breezy space to relax whenever you need a break.
Transatlantic and Repositioning Cruises
With so many sea days, you’ll get maximum use from your balcony. It becomes your own private deck, just for you.
Alaska
From glaciers calving into the sea to whales breaching in the distance, Alaska is a once-in-a-lifetime cruise where a balcony is priceless.
You can enjoy the wildlife and scenery from the comfort of your own private space – ideal for getting photos of a passing whale without being crowded by others.
Northern Lights Voyages
If you’re sailing to see the aurora, a balcony is a huge advantage. You can dash outside the moment the lights appear, without having to bundle up and head to the top deck.
Different Balcony Cabin Options You Might Not Know About
Not all balconies are created equal. Depending on the ship and your budget, you might find some hidden gems worth snapping up.
Aft Balconies
These are the ones at the back of the ship, with views over the wake. They’re often larger and more peaceful, though they can sell out quickly because the views are often seen as being some of the best you can book.
Wraparound Corner Balconies
These give you more space and two angles of view.
They’re perfect if you want a balcony that feels extra special, but with that you do tend to pay an increased price.
Obstructed View Balconies
Often priced lower, these still give you outdoor space, even if there’s a lifeboat partially blocking the view.
They’re a smart way to upgrade without overspending, if you don’t mind having some of your view impacted.
Infinite Balcony
Celebrity Cruises has introduced Infinite Veranda staterooms with the Edge-class ships. Rather than a traditional balcony, these instead have a window that slides down at the push of a button, creating that outdoor feel.
They split opinion, but a lot of people love the flexibility they offer – a larger stateroom with the window closed, and a chilled ‘outdoor’ space once you open it.
Forward-Facing Balconies
For a dramatic, front-row view of the ship’s journey, forward-facing cabins are a great choice. Just be prepared for a little extra wind, and that some cabins might have solid metal barriers rather than see-through glass, which can impact your view when you’re sitting down.
Premium Balcony Suites
If you’re looking for indulgence, some suites come with oversized balconies, loungers and even dining tables.
It’s like having your own private terrace at sea, although again you can expect to pay a little more for the privilege.
Hidden Perks of Balcony Cabins
The benefits of a balcony aren’t just about scenery. There are lots of small advantages that can make your cruise even better.
A Natural Wake-Up Call
Inside cabins are pitch black, but with a balcony, you can let in the morning light to start your day gently.
Fresh Air for Seasickness
If anyone in your party feels queasy, being able to step outside for fresh air can make all the difference.
More Space to Spread Out
Balconies add another ‘room’ to your cabin. They’re particularly handy for families or when you just need a little breathing space.
Quiet Moments Together
Balconies are perfect for naps, reading, or simply enjoying each other’s company without the noise of the main decks.
Special Occasions
Birthdays, anniversaries or honeymoons feel that bit more magical when celebrated with champagne and ocean views on your own private balcony.
What to Do If You Can’t Stretch to a Balcony
If a balcony isn’t in the budget this time, don’t worry – there are still plenty of ways to enjoy natural light and amazing views.
Oceanview Cabins
If a balcony is out of reach, an oceanview cabin is the next best thing. You’ll still get natural light and a view of the sea, without the higher price tag.
Virtual Balconies
Royal Caribbean’s innovative ‘virtual balconies’ use floor-to-ceiling HD screens to show real-time ocean views.
It’s surprisingly effective – and much cheaper than the real thing. All you’re really missing is the extra little bit of space and the fresh air.
Public Spaces with a View
Don’t forget that ships are designed for scenery. You aren’t just limited to your room.
From observation lounges to promenade decks, you’ll always find a spot to admire the ocean. If you don’t need that private space, then there are plenty of spots all over the ship where you can grab a drink, pull up a chair or lounger, and soak up that view.
Choose the Right Itinerary
If your cruise is port-heavy, you might not miss a balcony as much.
On those sailings, you’ll spend most of your time ashore or exploring the ship anyway. So bear that in mind – balconies are great, but only if you’re actually going to use it.
Final Word
Balcony cabins aren’t just a small luxury. They can completely change how you experience a cruise. Whether you’re sipping coffee in Norway, watching the sunset in the Caribbean, or enjoying a sea day on your own private deck, a balcony can transform your cruise.
So next time you’re planning a cruise, ask yourself: could a balcony be the upgrade that makes your holiday unforgettable?

P&O Cruises has unveiled a new promotion giving guests up to £800 in onboard spending money on selected voyages departing from Southampton, as the line looks to boost value across its upcoming sailings through to late 2027.
The offer applies to new Select Price bookings made between 24th March 2026 and 1st June 2026 on eligible cabin grades.
It covers a range of itineraries, including cruises to Spain and France, the Norwegian Fjords, and Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands, with departures running between 1st June 2026 and 29th November 2027.
Guests booking under the promotion will be able to use the onboard credit across a variety of experiences during their cruise. This includes speciality dining venues, spa treatments, retail purchases and shore excursions, offering flexibility in how travellers enhance their holiday.
As part of a separate, short-term incentive, the cruise line is also introducing deposits from £20 per person on selected sailings. This applies to new Select Price and Early Saver bookings made between 24th March and 31st March 2026.
“This offer is all about giving our guests more freedom to enjoy every moment on board, and with up to £800 to spend – whether it’s dining in our speciality restaurants, unwinding in the spa or celebrating with your favourite cocktail – guests can shape their holiday around what matters most to them. Our focus is always on adding even more value to a P&O Cruises holiday and helping guests create unforgettable experiences at sea.”
Carnival UK & P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow
Example Canary Islands Sailing With Added Value
One example included in the promotion is a 14-night Spain, Portugal and Canary Islands itinerary aboard Iona, departing Southampton on 2nd October 2027. The cruise calls at Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Madeira, Cadiz and Lisbon.
Prices for this sailing currently start from £2,799 per person, based on two people sharing a conservatory mini suite. The fare includes the full £800 onboard spending money per cabin under the Select Price promotion. Cheaper cabins, with a smaller amount of spending money, are available too on the same sailing.
Check out that cruise >
Alongside this incentive, P&O Cruises continues to promote its all-inclusive packages, which bundle drinks, Wi-Fi and speciality dining credit. Its Classic Package is priced at £49 per person per day, with the line stating this represents a saving of up to 32% compared to purchasing each element individually onboard.
Understanding Select And Saver Fares
The onboard spending promotion is only available on Select Price bookings, which are P&O Cruises’ premium fare type and include a wider range of benefits compared to lower-priced options.
Select fares typically offer added perks such as the ability to choose a specific cabin, flexible dining preferences, shuttle buses in port where applicable, and priority access to booking shore experiences and dining. Promotional extras, such as onboard spending money, are also usually tied to these fares.
By contrast, Saver fares, along with Early Saver options, are positioned as more budget-friendly alternatives. These fares generally come with restrictions, including limited or no cabin selection and fewer included benefits. While they can offer lower headline prices, they are less likely to include incentives such as onboard credit or added-value promotions.
As a result, travellers considering this latest offer will need to opt for a Select Price booking to take advantage of the onboard spending money, balancing the higher upfront fare against the additional inclusions and flexibility.

Carnival Cruise Line is facing a new personal injury lawsuit after a former Carnival Elation guest alleged she was hurt while travelling to a shore excursion in Nassau, Bahamas, and is now seeking to hold the cruise operator responsible in federal court.
Court records show Karolrae Knight filed suit against Carnival Corporation on 20th March 2026 in the Southern District of Florida over an incident that allegedly took place on 24th March 2025.
According to the claim, Knight had booked Carnival’s “Swimming with the Pigs: Express” excursion in Nassau, a tour sold through the line that includes a short boat transfer to Pig Beach and around 30 minutes with the animals. Carnival’s excursion listing describes the experience as an express option built around a quick trip out to meet the swimming pigs.
Instead, the lawsuit alleges the outing went wrong before the excursion properly began. Knight says she was seated on a bench with two other passengers aboard the small transfer boat when the seat suddenly gave way about 10 minutes after departure.
The complaint states: “KNIGHT was seated on a bench along with two other passengers. Approximately ten (10) minutes after departure, while waters were calm, the bench suddenly and unexpectedly collapsed.”
The filing continues: “The collapse caused KNIGHT to be violently thrown downward onto the floor of the vessel. KNIGHT nearly fell overboard into the ocean. The seating was not reasonably fit for its intended purpose and failed under normal and foreseeable passenger use.”
Passenger Claims Injuries Continued After Return To Ship
Knight alleges she was unable to continue with the tour and was instead taken back to Carnival Elation, where she was reportedly diagnosed by the ship’s medical team with a fractured tail bone.
The claim further alleges that her condition worsened after the cruise and that follow-up treatment ashore identified more serious spinal injuries, including a bulging disc and tear at L4-L5 and another tear at S1.
She is seeking damages for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and lost holiday costs, and has requested a jury trial.
The lawsuit argues that Carnival should still bear responsibility even though the excursion itself was run by an outside operator.
Knight’s legal team alleges the cruise line marketed the tour, sold it directly to guests and profited from it, while also failing to provide sufficient warning about the risks involved or clear enough notice that the excursion would be operated independently.
That point is likely to sit at the centre of the legal fight. Carnival’s own published shore excursion terms state that tours and related transportation are operated by independent contractors, not by the cruise line itself.
In its shore excursion FAQ, Carnival says: “All of the shore excursions, including any related transportation, are operated by local independent companies and they are solely responsible for their products, excursions and any related transportation.”
Carnival’s legal terms go further, stating: “Carnival neither supervises nor controls their actions, nor makes any representation either expressed or implied as to their suitability. Carnival sells tickets for all such services as a convenience to Guests only.”
Another Test For Cruise Excursion Liability
The case is the latest example of the legal tension around cruise line-run shore excursion sales, where passengers often book through the ship but the on-the-ground operation is handled by a third party.
Similar arguments are appearing in other recent filings involving Carnival. In one lawsuit filed on 26th February 2026, three Carnival Sunrise passengers alleged they were injured on a tender ride to Princess Cays and accused Carnival of negligence linked to bench safety and the handling of the boat in rough conditions.
In another case reported on 2nd March 2026, a passenger sued Carnival over a Puerto Vallarta excursion accident involving an alleged fall into an unmarked ravine.
Cruise lines have often relied on their ticket contracts and excursion disclaimers in defending these claims.
A January 2026 order in a separate Norwegian Cruise Line shore excursion case found that written disclaimers in the passenger contract and excursion paperwork defeated apparent agency arguments, underlining how important those terms can be once a case reaches court.
That does not decide Knight’s claim, but it does show the kind of legal issues likely to shape Carnival’s defence.
For now, the Nassau case remains at an early stage. What is already clear is that the lawsuit once again puts scrutiny on the gap between how cruise lines market shore excursions to passengers and how much responsibility they ultimately carry when something goes wrong off the ship.
