Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has unveiled its World Cruise 2029, A Pacific Awakening. Sailing from San Diego on January 5, 2029, the 125‑day odyssey on board the intimate Silver Whisper will take guests through the world’s largest ocean, exploring more than 60 destinations in 19 countries – with six signature events and one included overland experience. Guided by themes of wonder, wayfinding, and cultural awakening, the voyage spans Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia, Australia, Asia, and New Zealand – inviting guests to experience the richness of the Pacific.

“The depth and variety of experiences around which we have designed our World Cruise 2029, A Pacific Awakening, is what makes it such a special journey,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “With 17 overnights, new ports of call, and dozens of immersive experiences across the Pacific, our guests will enjoy iconic destinations alongside smaller, rarely visited ports. From a private evening at the ʻIolani Palace in Honolulu to an exclusive island celebration in the Philippines – these experiences deliver true access and a deep connection to the destination that is unique to Silversea.”

Unparalleled Access Across the Pacific

The brand’s World Cruise 2029 unfolds in eight thoughtfully designed chapters, each crafted to reveal a different dimension of the Pacific’s vast cultural, historical, and natural landscape. From ancestral homelands and wayfinding routes to regions shaped by imperial legacies, these segments provide a thoughtfully layered narrative of exploration for even the most well-traveled guests:

  • THE ANCESTRAL ISLES – San Diego, California to Papeete, Tahiti (January 5 – January 23): Sailing from San Diego after an exclusive Bon Voyage celebration, the first leg of the voyage will take guests to Papeete, Tahiti, honoring Hawaii as the ancestral homeland of the Polynesian people. Guests will explore volcanic archipelagos, pristine reefs, and ancient navigation traditions.
  • WAY OF THE WAYFINDER – Papeete, Tahiti to Auckland, New Zealand (January 23 – February 11): Rooted in the legacy of celestial navigation, this segment from Tahiti to Auckland, New Zealand, traces the path of the great wayfinders across French Polynesia, Samoa, Fiji, and beyond. Extended stays throughout the region will give guests time to engage with local communities, from ceremonial sites such as Taputapuātea in Raiatea to vibrant markets and village traditions.
  • THE WILD & THE WORLDLY – Auckland, New Zealand to Melbourne, Australia (February 11 -February 27): A journey into the duality of the Pacific, this chapter from Auckland to Melbourne captures how the region blends its glacier‑carved wilderness with the cultural energy of cosmopolitan cities. Guests will encounter dramatic fjords, remote coastal landscapes, and heritage‑rich port towns before transitioning into vibrant urban centers.
  • CURRENTS OF CONTRAST – Melbourne, Australia to Benoa, Bali (February 27 – March 13): From tranquil moments in nature to dynamic city life and wildlife encounters, this segment from Melbourne to Benoa, Bali, highlights the striking contrasts that define Australia’s southern coast and beyond. Alongside visits to celebrated wine regions such as Barossa Valley, guests explore destinations where local gastronomy reflects a deep connection to place. Encounters with marine life and untouched coastlines continue as the voyage moves northward, reinforcing the Pacific’s rich biodiversity and ever‑changing natural rhythms.
  • EMERALD LANDS & GOLDEN COASTS – Benoa, Bali, to Manila, the Philippines (March 13 – March 25): Lush rainforests, golden mosques, endemic wildlife, and rich island traditions mark this portion of the voyage, as guests sail across Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines. Calls in smaller ports and emerging destinations will offer insight into daily life and regional cultures. Guests will also wander deep into Malaysia’s sanctuary forests to witness orangutans and proboscis monkeys move along the treetops.
  • CERULEAN SHORES & SAKURA SKIES – Manila, Philippines to Tokyo, Japan (March 25 to April 6): From tropical blue horizons to a breathtaking canvas of soft pink and white, this segment from the Philippines to Tokyo is perfectly timed for guests to witness Japan’s Sakura in peak bloom, as the country becomes awash in delicate cherry blossoms, symbolizing renewal and beauty. Culinary tradition also takes center stage through immersive S.A.L.T. experiences that reveal the ancient art of fermentation at a serene Zen retreat on Awaji Island, where time‑honored techniques and seasonal ingredients reflect the deep cultural and spiritual significance of food in Japan.
  • SPRING AT THE GATES OF EMPIRE – Tokyo, Japan, to Hong Kong, China (April 6 to April 25): This segment is set to honor imperial histories and timeless artistry across Japan, Korea, and China. As guests explore heritage landmarks and ceremonial sites, such as the Temple of Heaven, regional cuisine provides an additional layer of insight, connecting tradition, ritual, and identity through flavors refined over generations. Select overland journeys will also provide rare access beyond the shoreline, including a complimentary experience to Xi’an with after‑hours entry to the Terracotta Warriors and an optional UNESCO‑focused exploration of Beijing, featuring the Great Wall and Forbidden City.
  • ACROSS TEMPLE KINGDOMS – Hong Kong, China, to Singapore (April 25 to May 11): Exploring regions once ruled by powerful Southeast Asian kingdoms, guests will travel from China to Singapore in the final chapter of their immersive voyage. Ancient temples, layered histories, and vibrant cuisine define this segment, both along the coast and inland, including a S.A.L.T. culinary highlight in Thailand, where guests will be invited into the home and garden of Michelin‑starred chef Vichit Mukura to explore the principles of plant‑based cuisine and wellness through an intimate cooking demonstration and lunch experience.

World Cruise Events You Won’t Find Anywhere Else

Silversea’s World Cruises offer rare access to extraordinary places and experiences through thoughtfully curated events that are seamlessly integrated into the journey. Starting with an exclusive Bon Voyage event in San Diego, the World Cruise 2029 will feature the following events, inspired by the theme ‘From Kingdoms to Dynasties’:

  • In Honolulu, A Night at the Palace offers guests a private evening at the ʻIolani Palace – the only official royal residence in the United States – providing an intimate introduction to the Hawaiian monarchy and living heritage.
  • In Tasmania, guests will step into the historic Theatre Royal for a private performance at Australia’s oldest continually operating theater. The one-night-only event will feature a performance by the 47-piece Tasmania Symphony Orchestra, in celebration of artistry and heritage.
  • In the Philippines, a full‑ship private island experience on Kalanggaman Island transforms a pristine stretch of white sand into Silversea’s own open‑air setting for Filipino cultural performances, island‑inspired cocktails, and an authentic dinner prepared by a local chef beneath the open sky.
  • The Mysteries of Japan in Tokyo will immerse guests in an evening inspired by the country’s imperial heritage, blending refined regional cuisine with honored traditions and performances.
  • The voyage concludes in extraordinary fashion with an elegant seaside dinner at Pattaya’s iconic Sanctuary of Truth, a hand‑carved wooden temple that provides a symbolic and memorable finale to the 125‑day World Cruise 2029.

Exploring Hidden Gems and More Than 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Throughout the World Cruise 2029, guests will experience some of the Pacific’s lesser‑known destinations that invite a more meaningful connection with place. Among the voyage’s hidden gems are Kalanggaman Island in the Philippines and Motu Tapu in French Polynesia, a sacred islet deeply connected to ancestral tradition. Additional calls in the Philippines, including Bohol and Romblon Island, offer intimate encounters with endemic wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and island communities shaped by craftsmanship, culture, and daily life.

Complementing these off‑the‑beaten‑path discoveries, the itinerary also includes destinations of significant cultural importance, such as Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its remarkably preserved Spanish colonial architecture.

A Sanctuary of Quiet Luxury

On board Silver Whisper, refined elegance meets immersive exploration. As one of the smallest luxury ships ever to host a World Cruise, Silver Whisper accommodates just 392 guests, creating an intimate atmosphere. Onboard, they will enjoy spacious ocean‑view suites, each paired with dedicated butler service, and a nearly one‑to‑one crew-to-guest ratio ensures that every moment onboard is met with care. Built to access hidden harbors and remote islands, Silver Whisper brings the most elusive edges of the Pacific into reach – carrying guests into the heart of cultures, coastlines, and communities few travelers ever experience.

An exclusive pre‑sale for A Pacific Awakening World Cruise 2029 opens to Venetian Society members on April 14, with general sales beginning April 21.

MSC Cruises To Increase Gratuities For Caribbean And Alaska Sailings From May 2026

MSC Cruises is raising its daily hotel service charges for guests sailing in the Caribbean and Alaska, with the updated rates taking effect from 11th May 2026.

The cruise line has begun notifying booked passengers of the changes via email, while also updating pricing on its website. The adjustment follows a broader trend across the industry, with several major cruise operators introducing similar increases in recent months.

MSC crew members

Under the revised structure, guests staying in standard staterooms will see a $1 per person, per night increase, bringing the total to $17. Those booked into the premium MSC Yacht Club suites will face a larger rise of $3 per person, per night, taking the new rate to $23.

Children under the age of two will continue to be exempt from hotel service charges, regardless of accommodation type.

What Guests Need To Know About The Changes

MSC Cruises has confirmed that passengers who have already prepaid their gratuities will not be required to pay the higher rate, even if their sailing departs after the new charges come into force.

The cruise line said: “We are happy to honor the current Hotel Service Charge for guests who have already paid, as well as those who choose to prepay before the policy change on May 11, 2026.”

While the charges are automatically applied to onboard accounts, MSC maintains that they are calculated to reflect its service standards and are not designed to be altered.

However, guests who feel service levels have not met expectations can raise concerns with the Guest Relations Manager onboard to request adjustments.

It is worth noting that MSC’s gratuity rates vary globally. The increase announced here applies only to Caribbean and Alaska sailings.

Cash being used for cruise tips

In other regions, current charges remain unchanged, typically ranging between $14 and $19 per night for standard cabins and $19 to $23 for Yacht Club suites. On many cruises from the UK there are no gratuities for guests to pay.

The timing of the increase coincides with MSC’s growing presence in Alaska. MSC Poesia is set to begin the line’s first-ever Alaska season from Seattle on 11th May 2026, the same day the new pricing comes into effect.

Cruise Lines Continue Industry-Wide Price Adjustments

MSC Cruises is far from alone in revising its gratuity structure. A number of cruise lines have implemented increases in recent weeks, reflecting ongoing cost pressures across the sector.

Margaritaville at Sea introduced one of the most significant hikes earlier this year, raising daily gratuities to $22 per person for standard cabins and $25 for suites from 1st February 2026.

Carnival Cruise Line also adjusted its rates, increasing gratuities to $17 per person, per night for standard staterooms and $19 for suites. Those changes took effect on 2nd April 2026.

Meanwhile, Holland America Line has announced a $1 per person, per day increase across all accommodation categories, although that change will not be introduced until 1st June 2026.

These incremental increases, while relatively small on a nightly basis, can have a noticeable impact on the overall cost of a cruise, particularly for families travelling together.

With additional onboard expenses such as speciality dining and drinks packages also contributing to the final bill, travellers are increasingly factoring gratuities into their overall holiday budget.

Royal Caribbean Just Officially Ditched The Bahamas Flag for a Second Ship

Every Royal Caribbean cruise ship sails under the flag of The Bahamas, but there are now two exceptions. In a major move for the company, a second ship, Navigator of the Seas, was just reflagged to fly under the Cyprus flag as of April 14, 2026.

Navigator of the Seas Royal Caribbean cruise ship

It joins Spectrum of the Seas (which made the switch in 2023) as the only ships in the fleet to call the Mediterranean country of Cyprus their official “home” on paper.

But why would the cruise line bother making a change like this and what does it actually mean?

What Exactly is a “Flag State”?

Think of a ship’s flag like a car’s registration. Every ship in the world has to be officially registered in one country.  It’s called its flag state.

Even though Royal Caribbean is based in Miami, they (like many other cruise lines) use “flags of convenience.”

This means they register ships in countries like The Bahamas or Cyprus because those nations have favorable shipping laws, lower costs, and simpler paperwork.

It might sound like a loophole, but it’s just good business that helps keep the cruise lines afloat.

Why the Switch to Cyprus?

While no official press release was put out by Royal Caribbean on this news just yet, Cyprus’s government announced the strategic cooperation today, mentioning “further strengthening of the cooperation”.

But if The Bahamas has worked for decades, why change now? It more than likely comes down to location and reputation.

  • The EU Advantage: Cyprus is a member of the European Union. By flagging the Navigator there, Royal Caribbean essentially gets an “EU Passport” for the ship. This makes it much easier to navigate European taxes and regulations, especially as the company does more business in the Mediterranean.
  • The “White List”: Not all flags are equal. Cyprus is considered a high-quality, reputable “white list” flag. It has top-tier safety standards, meaning it’s respected by port authorities worldwide.
  • A Permanent Home: This isn’t just a paper move. Royal Caribbean actually opened a permanent headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus back in 2023. By flagging their ships there, they are doubling down on their commitment to the island as their new European hub.

What Does This Mean for You?

For passengers on Navigator of the Seas, it doesn’t mean a whole lot.  The 4,000-max capacity ship is currently sailing out of Los Angeles, California and will do so through October of this year.

In late 2026, the ship is scheduled to move to Singapore to offer shorter sailings around Asian ports in Phuket and Malaysia, before returning to California in May 2027.  So no, there are no plans to move the ship to the Mediterranean.

It’s just now flagged in Cyprus, and that’s all the information we currently have.

The Big Picture

For Royal Caribbean, this is a strategic move, even if we don’t have all the details behind it.  By moving ships to the Cyprus register, they are gaining a stronger foothold in Europe and a more diversified “portfolio” of flags.

According to Cyprus Mail,

“Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis thanked Royal Caribbean Group chairman and chief executive Jason Liberty, along with president Michael Bayley, for the group’s continued trust.”

The Shipping Minister also said the move was a clear sign of the cruise line’s confidence in the country’s policies and it would help boost competition.

Family Cruise Scam Sees Miami Couple Accused Of Taking $45,000 For Voyage That Never Existed

A Miami couple has been accused of defrauding friends and relatives out of tens of thousands of dollars for a Royal Caribbean cruise that was never actually booked, according to authorities.

Antonio Diaz, 65, and Maria Blasco Diaz, 64, were arrested on 7th April as part of an investigation by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. Police allege the pair took a total of $200,259.85 through a series of schemes, including nearly $45,000 tied to a supposed family cruise.

Odyssey of the Seas

The case centres on a victim who approached Blasco Diaz for advice about booking a cruise, given her experience with sailing. Prosecutors say she claimed to have access to discounted fares through a contact purportedly employed by Royal Caribbean.

According to the arrest report, the offer extended beyond the cruise fare itself. “Ms. Diaz offered cruise excursions, drink packages, room upgrades, hotel stays, transportation, and travel insurance,” investigators stated.

The victim and their family ultimately transferred $44,910 via a combination of Zelle payments, cheques and cash.

Cruise Booking Never Materialised

The sailing in question was due to depart on 9th July 2023 aboard Odyssey of the Seas. However, concerns were raised when travel documents had still not been issued by late June.

Authorities say Blasco Diaz provided a series of explanations, including a claim that her contact at the cruise line had been dismissed. When the victim later contacted Royal Caribbean directly, they were informed that while a reservation number existed, it was not linked to the family.

Investigators also allege that attempts to refund the money were unsuccessful. Blasco Diaz reportedly issued cheques as partial repayment, promising to cover the remaining balance through a home equity line of credit. Those cheques were later found to be drawn from a newly opened account with insufficient funds.

Despite further assurances, no repayment was ultimately made, according to the arrest report.

Wider Allegations Involving Luxury Goods

The cruise scheme forms part of a broader set of allegations against the couple. Authorities claim they also accepted nearly $139,000 in deposits for 16 Rolex watches and a Patek Philippe timepiece, none of which were delivered.

In addition, victims are said to have paid around $3,000 for discounted diamond earrings and more than $13,400 on other jewellery purchases that never materialised.

Police reports indicate that Antonio Diaz invoked his right to legal counsel, while Blasco Diaz admitted to the alleged actions but claimed her husband was not involved. Both have since entered not guilty pleas.

Royal Caribbean Group and a lawyer representing the couple did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Stepbrother Indicted As Adult Over Carnival Horizon Murder Of Anna Kepner

A 16-year-old boy has been indicted as an adult in connection with the death of Anna Kepner, five months after the teenager was found dead aboard a Carnival Cruise Line ship during a family holiday.

The US Department of Justice confirmed that the suspect, identified only by the initials T.H., faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse. Although the case initially proceeded under juvenile jurisdiction, it has since been transferred for adult prosecution due to the seriousness of the alleged offences.

Carnival Horizon

If convicted, the teenager could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family during this unimaginable loss,” said US Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida.

“A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging serious offences that allegedly occurred aboard a vessel in international waters. We will present the evidence in court and pursue this case with professionalism and care. As in every case, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

The decision to try a minor as an adult is made based on multiple factors, including the severity of the alleged crime, prior history, and psychological assessments.

Assistant US Attorney Alejandra L. López is leading the prosecution.

Carnival Cruise Line has not issued any public statement regarding the case, which remains ongoing. No crew members were involved in the incident, and the cruise line itself is not a party to any legal action connected to the case.

The Death Of Anna Kepner

Anna Kepner was discovered dead in her stateroom aboard Carnival Horizon on 8th November 2025, during the final day of a six-night Western Caribbean sailing.

The cruise had departed Miami on 2nd November, with scheduled calls in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Kepner had been travelling with her family and was sharing a cabin on Deck 8 with her 16-year-old stepbrother, T.H., and another stepbrother aged 14.

Her body was found after she failed to appear for breakfast. She had been wrapped in a sheet and concealed beneath the bed using lifejackets.

Anna Kepner Carnival Horizon

Due to the suspicious circumstances, the Federal Bureau of Investigation took over the case while the ship was still in international waters.

A post-mortem later determined the cause of death to be mechanical asphyxiation caused by a “bar hold”, a form of strangulation involving pressure applied to the throat with a forearm.

Kepner was a senior at Temple Christian School in Titusville, Florida, and had been due to graduate in May 2026. She had reportedly planned to pursue a career in the military.

The case has drawn significant attention, including scrutiny over reported text messages exchanged between Kepner’s stepmother and her ex-husband, which appeared to suggest early concerns about potential criminal charges.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across Kepner’s community, with friends, classmates, teachers and colleagues remembering her as a well-liked and ambitious young woman.

No trial date has yet been confirmed. Authorities have reiterated that the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Creative Ways To Spend Solo Time On Your Cruise

A cruise gives you rare pockets of time when the horizon feels vast, and you can move at your own pace. You don’t need a packed schedule to enjoy those moments. The quiet corners of the ship often inspire the richest experiences. You might feel drawn to write, wander, or people‑watch with a drink in hand. You could even dip into the likes of online slots when you want a few minutes of easy fun. When you treat solo time as something to savor rather than fill, the journey becomes far more personal and memorable.

Capture your journey creatively

Creative expression tends to flow more easily when you step away from your usual routine, and cruises are usually action-packed. Use the fresh scenes to gain some creative inspiration. You could start a simple travel journal where you jot down short impressions each day rather than trying to craft perfect entries. Write about the way the sea changed color at breakfast or the conversation you overheard on deck. These small details help you remember the trip vividly later.

If you enjoy photography, carry your phone or camera during your strolls and experiment with angles you rarely use at home. Try catching candid moments of fellow travellers as they lean over the rail. The act of looking closely slows you down and helps you notice elements you’d usually overlook. Set aside a few minutes each day to capture one detail that made you smile.

Add some light entertainment

Solo time doesn’t always need deep reflection. Sometimes you simply want relaxed entertainment that fits neatly into a spare half-hour. Bring a novel you’ve been meaning to read or download a few short episodes of a podcast with a tone that matches your mood. Choose content that adds something to your day, such as a travel series that sharpens your sense of place, or a comedy show that lifts your spirits when you need it.

If you prefer something interactive, explore the ship’s quieter lounges where you can play casual games on your tablet or pick up a crossword from the library corner. These small habits help your mind unwind without asking too much of you. You’ll return to the more structured parts of the cruise with a clearer head.

Discover new hobbies at sea

Cruises often host workshops that encourage you to try something different without making a long‑term commitment. You might join a short cooking demonstration, where you learn a simple technique that you can replicate at home. Because you work alongside others, you gain confidence and make friends while enjoying a shared activity.

You could also sign up for a beginner-friendly craft class. Whether you try watercolor postcards or basic jewelry-making, you leave with a handmade reminder of your journey. The sessions break up the day and give you something practical to show for your efforts. Engaging your hands and mind in a new skill often helps you tune into the present moment.

Relax your own way

Some people find the spa soothing, especially if they choose a treatment that offers clear benefits, such as easing tension from long travel days. Others prefer stretching out on a quiet deck with a cool drink and a good book.

You might enjoy a slow morning where you take your coffee to a secluded spot and permit yourself to sit without checking the time. Gentle routines like these help you recharge and make the rest of your trip feel more balanced. The more you follow your own rhythm, the more restorative your solo time becomes.

MSC Group Launches Sandy Cay, A New Luxury Private Island Destination In The Bahamas

MSC Group’s Cruise Division introduced Sandy Cay today—a new luxury private island destination located next to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas, due to open in 2028. Designed for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests, the new island further elevates the Company’s vision of delivering truly unique and authentic travel experiences.

Sandy Cay was conceived as an intimate complement to Ocean Cay, offering a more secluded escape and inviting guests into a quieter, deeply immersive connection with the ocean’s natural rhythms and the spirit of The Bahamas.

Pristine aragonite sands—among the purest and brightest in the world—give Sandy Cay its name and its character, shaping an island defined by serenity. Sandy Cay has been carefully envisioned as a destination designed to offer a more intimate yet elevated and immersive experience. It remains true to the ethos that defines Ocean Cay – connecting guests to nature and the natural beauty of the ocean.

Sandy Cay will complement the Company’s existing private island destination, sharing the same crystal-clear Bahamian waters as Ocean Cay while offering a new dimension of discovery, serenity, and escape.

MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests will have their first opportunity to experience Sandy Cay in 2028.

Major Upgrades Set for MSC’s Ocean Cay Marine Reserve

MSC Cruises recently announced enhancements to Ocean Cay, which will introduce new facilities and experiences designed to further enhance the island’s guest experience.

Enhancements include additional dining venues, new beach concepts for families and adults, expanded relaxation areas, and new ways for guests to engage with marine conservation through immersive experiences.

Philadelphia Cruisers Must Check In at Hotel Rather Than Cruise Port Due to Construction Delays

Cruise passengers departing on the upcoming Norwegian Cruise Line inaugural sailing from PhilaPort are receiving emails telling them that their vacation starts in a hotel ballroom rather than at the cruise port itself.

Norwegian Jewel cruise ship

NCL is telling guests booked on Norwegian Jewel that check-in will actually take place at the Clarion Hotel Philadelphia International Airport.  The change was due to ongoing construction delays at the permanent terminal.

One passenger on Reddit who received the cruise line’s email said, “you can only check in at the hotel-do not attempt to go to the port, you will be turned away,” adding that parking starts at $16/day.

While the hotel is about 6 miles from the cruise port, passengers will be shuttled to their ship after the check-in process is complete.

The Temporary Check-In Process

“For our first sailings, the check-in process will be facilitated at a nearby facility supported by thoughtful operational plans designed to keep your day flowing from arrival to boarding,” an email from the cruise line stated.

For these initial sailings, the Clarion Hotel in Essington (76 Industrial Hwy) is acting as the official cruise hub. If you have airport transfers booked through NCL, they’ll take you straight there.

If you’re driving yourself, staff will be on-site to guide you.

Once you arrive, you’ll drop your bags outside the entrance before heading into the designated ballroom to handle the paperwork. It’s important to keep your essentials like passports, meds, and boarding docs, in a carry-on bag, as you won’t see your checked luggage again until it shows up at your stateroom later that night.

Since Norwegian is the only cruise line currently sailing out of Philly, this shuttle is the only way into the port area. NCL has made it clear that you should not try to go to the port independently, as security will only allow official NCL buses through the gates.

At the Pier

Norwegian Jewel is scheduled to arrive at 8:00 AM this Thursday after its 10-day trip up from PortMiami.

You’ll probably see construction crews and equipment still working on the permanent terminal building nearby. Because of this “work-in-progress” setup, NCL is advising everyone to dress for the weather, as some of the walk to the ship is outdoors.

Upcoming Sailing Itinerary

For the passengers checking in this Thursday, the unique hotel check-in process is just the first step toward a week-long getaway. Norwegian Jewel is scheduled to embark from Philadelphia at 4:00 PM on April 16.

The 8-day itinerary includes:

Day 1: Philadelphia, PA (Embark at 4:00 PM)

Day 2: At Sea

Day 3: Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda (Arrive 10:00 AM, Overnight)

Day 4: Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda (Depart 3:00 PM)

Day 5: At Sea

Day 6: Charleston, South Carolina (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Day 7: At Sea

Day 8: Philadelphia, PA (Debark at 8:00 AM on April 23)

Disembarkation Plans

Guests who purchased airport transfers will be taken directly from the ship to the airport. All other passengers will be shuttled back to the Clarion Hotel, where they can retrieve their vehicles or arrange transportation.

Ride-share services and taxis will not be available at the port itself, meaning cruisers must plan pickups from the hotel location instead.

Norwegian is asking everyone to stick to their selected check-in timeslots to keep the hotel ballroom from getting too crowded. While it’s not the grand terminal opening everyone expected, the goal is to keep things moving until the permanent facility is finally ready.
