More than 100 years after it sank, the Titanic still fascinates millions around the world. Whether itโs the grandeur of the ship, the tragic stories of those on board, or the mystery of what really happened that night, we just canโt look away.
Luckily, there are some incredible museums and exhibitions where you can get up close to real artefacts, walk recreated corridors, and experience what life was like on the worldโs most famous ship.

In this guide, Iโll take you through the 10 best Titanic museums around the world โ and exactly why each one is worth a visit.
There are seven museums that are wholly dedicated to the Titanic across the world. In addition, there are three large maritime museums that have extensive Titanic exhibitions, plus several temporary exhibitions at various museums across the globe.
There is no โofficialโ Titanic museum. However, there are several well-respected museums worldwide dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the RMS Titanic, each with its unique connections to the ship and its story.
While the Titanic will remain at the bottom of the ocean indefinitely, parts of the Titanic and personal items that have been recovered are on display for you to see at museums around the world.
Most of the worldโs Titanic museums are located in the United Kingdom and North America. This is because they are often built in places that hold historical significance.
The Titanic was built in Belfast, registered in Liverpool, set sail from Southampton and made a call at Cobh. So there are Titanic museums in all of these cities in the UK.

In Canada, the main Titanic museum is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is the nearest port to where the Titanic sank. And in the USA, there are museums located in major tourist spots like Orlando and Las Vegas.
In this guide, weโll take a closer look at the most popular Titanic museums and exhibitions. Iโve visited some of these museums and exhibitions myself and done extensive research about what each one offers. Iโve ordered them by what people deem to be the best Titanic museums, according to thousands of reviews.

Located in the shipyard where the Titanic was built, Titanic Belfast stands as a world-class monument to Belfastโs maritime heritage and a tribute to the ship herself.
One of the best museums in Northern Ireland, this award-winning visitor attraction spans six floors with nine interactive galleries, offering a fully immersive experience.
Titanic Belfast is more than just a museum. It offers visitors an unparalleled journey back in time to the shipโs conception in the early 1900s in Belfast, through her construction and launch, to her infamous maiden voyage and tragic end.
What sets Titanic Belfast apart is its location and the sheer scale of its storytelling. The museumโs striking, iconic building, resembling a four-hulled ship, stands on the exact site where the Titanic was built, adding a layer of authenticity to the experience.
It brings history to life with state-of-the-art interactive displays, full-scale reconstructions, and innovative features, like the Shipyard Ride, where visitors can witness the shipโs construction process and the conditions in which workers laboured.

The SS Nomadic, Titanicโs original tender ship and the last remaining White Star Line vessel, is also part of the Titanic Belfast experience.

In essence, Titanic Belfast offers more than just a walk through history โ itโs a sensory voyage into the life of the most famous ship in the world and comes highly recommended. If you ever visit a Titanic Museum, make this the one.

The Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, USA, invites visitors to step back in time and board the Titanic for a deeply immersive experience.
Titanic Pigeon Forge stands out for its remarkable attention to detail and the significant way it personalises the experience for each guest. As visitors enter the ship-shaped building, they are handed a boarding pass bearing the name of a real Titanic passenger or crew member.
This interactive approach continues throughout the tour, as guests explore the shipโs meticulously recreated spaces, including the Grand Staircase, First Class Parlor Suite, and Marconi Room. They can also view over 400 genuine artefacts recovered from the ship, making it one of the largest collections in the world.
The exhibit climaxes with the revealing of each guestโs assigned personโs fate on the night of the sinking.
Offering a mix of education, emotion, and authenticity, the Titanic Museum Attraction provides an engaging, hands-on experience that resonates with visitors of all ages.

The Titanic museum in Branson, Missouri, USA, is a sister to the museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Both museums share a common vision of honouring the legacy of the Titanic and its passengers by offering immersive and educational experiences. However, there are few differences that make each site unique.
What distinguishes Titanic Branson from the Pigeon Forge location is its special exhibits, which rotate annually. These exhibits offer fresh perspectives and detailed explorations of particular aspects of the Titanicโs story, enhancing the value of a repeat visit. The Branson Museum also holds a unique event each year, paying tribute to the Titanicโs musicians.
Just like its Pigeon Forge counterpart, the Branson Museum presents a deeply personal experience, giving each visitor a boarding pass of an actual Titanic passenger or crew member and revealing their fate at the end of the tour.
These museums are pretty similar, so it makes sense to choose the one nearest to you rather than making a special trip to visit one or the other. Theyโre both very good.

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a treasure trove of maritime history, with a particular focus on the RMS Titanic.
Halifax has a unique connection to the Titanic tragedy as it was the closest major port to the disaster and became the final resting place for many victims.
The museumโs Titanic exhibit offers visitors a profound perspective on the Titanicโs tragic voyage. It houses a collection of rare Titanic artefacts, including one of the few surviving deck chairs and a mortuary bag used to recover victimsโ personal items.
Additionally, the exhibit features the shoes of the โUnknown Child,โ which led to the identification of a Titanic victim almost a century later.
One of the museumโs most notable exhibits is the collection of wooden fragments from the Titanic, recovered by cable ships that were sent from Halifax to recover bodies in the aftermath of the sinking.
A visit to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is not just about observing artefacts. For those interested in the human stories behind the Titanic tragedy, the museum offers a poignant insight into the victimsโ lives and the city that played a key role in the aftermath of the disaster.

The Titanic Experience Cobh in County Cork, Ireland, provides an engaging and moving experience that sets it apart from many other Titanic museums. This museum is located in the original White Star Line Ticket Office, the departure point for the last 123 passengers who boarded the ill-fated ship.
The Titanic Experience Cobh stands out due to its interactive approach and personal connection to the Titanicโs passengers. Upon entry, visitors are given a boarding card with the details of a real passenger. They then follow in the footsteps of the passengers, from the departure from Cobh (then Queenstown) to the sinking of the Titanic.
The journey culminates in the Cobh Galleries, where visitors discover the fate of their assigned passengers.
The Titanic Experience Cobh offers a different perspective, focusing not just on the ship and its voyage but the human experiences intertwined with the shipโs tragic destiny. Itโs an intimate, emotive journey that adds a deeply personal layer to the larger Titanic narrative.

SeaCity Museum in Southampton, England, is well worth a visit for those intrigued by the Titanic story. The city of Southampton has a deep connection to the Titanic, as it was the shipโs home port, and most of its crew members, many of whom lost their lives in the disaster, hailed from this city.
The museumโs โSouthamptonโs Titanic Storyโ exhibit traces the impact of the disaster on the city and its people, offering a uniquely poignant and personal perspective on the Titanic tale.

The exhibition showcases a wealth of fascinating artefacts, personal testimonies, and interactive models, which help visitors understand the scale of the tragedy and the human stories behind it.
A large interactive model of the ship brings to life the scale of the Titanic, while the 1930s courtroom reenactment of the British Inquiry into the disaster offers a unique angle on the event.
SeaCity Museum also presents the broader context of Southamptonโs seafaring history and its pivotal role in the era of ocean liners. Visitors to the museum can therefore expect to gain an understanding of the Titanic tragedy in the larger picture of maritime history.

Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Luxor Hotel and Casinoโs Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition presents a striking portrayal of the worldโs most famous ship disaster.
The exhibit showcases more than 250 artefacts recovered from the wreck site of the Titanic, including luggage, floor tiles from the first-class smoking room, a window frame from the Verandah Cafe, and an unopened bottle of champagne with a 1900 vintage.
One of its most prominent pieces is โThe Big Piece,โ a large piece of the Titanicโs starboard hull, which is one of the biggest Titanic artefacts ever retrieved.
The exhibition not only displays artefacts but also recreates rooms from the ship to give visitors a sense of the Titanicโs opulence. With replicas of the shipโs Grand Staircase, First-Class Cabin, and more, the exhibition lets you step back in time and experience the grandeur of the Titanic.

Located on the famous International Drive in Orlando, Florida, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition tells the Titanicโs story in a vivid and engaging way.
Housed in a 20,000-square-foot interactive museum, the exhibition boasts over 300 artefacts, including personal belongings of passengers, which were recovered from the shipโs wreckage site.
Visitors embark on a chronological journey through the life of the Titanic, from its construction to life on board, the ill-fated sinking, and the extensive recovery efforts.
It features impressively recreated rooms from the Titanic, including the Grand Staircase, a First-Class suite and the Verandah Cafe.
Perhaps the most poignant feature is the Memorial Wall, where visitors can discover the fate of the passengers whose names they were assigned upon entry. This personal touch makes the experience deeply moving and memorable.

The Maritime Museum in Liverpool, England, has a rich offering for those interested in maritime history, including a dedicated section on the Titanic.
Liverpool is intrinsically linked to the Titanic story, as the ship was registered in Liverpool by the White Star Line, and many of the shipโs crew hailed from the city.
The museumโs โTitanic and Liverpool: The Untold Storyโ exhibit presents a wealth of fascinating artefacts and personal items linked to the ship, including letters and.
Thereโs also an exhibition dedicated to another famous ship that sadly sank, the RMS Lusitania.
The exhibit delves into the wider impact of the tragedy on the city and the people of Liverpool, sharing stories of the crew who served on the ship, many of whom lost their lives in the disaster.
In addition to the Titanic exhibit, the Maritime Museum also explores Liverpoolโs seafaring history, the cityโs role in the transatlantic slave trade, and its maritime mercantile city designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For those interested in the Titanic, as well as broader maritime history, the Maritime Museum in Liverpool offers a unique and engaging journey through time.

The Titanic Historical Society Museum in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts, USA, stands as one of the earliest centres dedicated to preserving the memory of the Titanic.
Founded in 1963, the museum is the cornerstone of the Titanic Historical Society, the worldโs first Titanic society. The founder, Ed Kamuda, who passed away in 2014, kept in touch with about 50 Titanic survivors who sent him things over the years.
This museum offers a more intimate experience compared to some of the larger Titanic museums. It houses a vast collection of unique memorabilia and artefacts, including original blueprints of the ship, items from its sister ships, Olympic and Britannic, as well as personal items from passengers and crew.
However, visitors should note that many of the artefacts are currently on loan to other Titanic museums in the USA, such as the one at Pigeon Ford and the one at Branson.
While it may not have the high-tech exhibits or grand recreations found in larger Titanic museums, the Titanic Historical Society Museum offers a unique, in-depth perspective on the Titanicโs history that is enriched by its longstanding dedication to preserving the shipโs legacy.

White Star Heritage currently has a Titanic Exhibition that you can visit in cities across the UK, including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Worcester, Middlesbrough, Exeter and Torquay.
If you donโt want to travel too far to one of the main Titanic museums, then a visit to one of these exhibitions can be a good way to learn more about the Titanic and see more of the artefacts.
I visited the Titanic Exhibition in Bristol, and while it was much smaller than the main Titanic museums, I still found it to be interesting. The museum had some artefacts from the Titanic, as well as lots from Titanicโs sister ship, The Olympic.

Tickets are sold in one-hour time slots, but even so, I found it to be extremely busy when I visited. The room was quite small, and I had to wait for people to move in between seeing each exhibit.
I also found the souvenir section at the end to be quite tacky. Located opposite the wall that lists the names of all of the passengers and crew, there was a stall selling Titanic tea towels and cushions, which I personally felt was in poor taste.

Titanic Belfast, situated at the very site where the iconic RMS Titanic was built and launched, is recognised as the premier Titanic museum in the world.
With nine interactive galleries that explore everything from Belfastโs shipbuilding industry to the Titanicโs fateful voyage and tragic sinking, the museumโs comprehensive coverage, stunning architecture, and innovative storytelling set it apart as the best Titanic museum in the world.
You can get tickets for Titanic Belfast here.

Want to cruise like a VIP without splurging on a suite? Holland Americaโs Club Orange promises priority perks, exclusive extras, and a more elevated experience โ for a fee.
Itโs totally optional, and plenty of guests cruise happily without it. But for those who opt in, Club Orange comes with some tempting benefits.

In this guide, Iโll break down exactly what Club Orange includes, what it doesnโt, and whether itโs really worth the upgrade.
Club Orange is an additional perks package available on all Holland America cruise ships. Guests who choose to pay for Club Orange get priority for certain parts of the cruise experience, improved dining options and special event invitations.
Availability for Club Orange is restricted for each cruise โ only a limited number of people will be able to pay for it to ensure that the package retains its value. So, if youโre considering it, make sure you book it as early as possible for your cruise to avoid disappointment.
Hereโs a full list of perks you get when you pay for Club Orange:
When you arrive at the cruise terminal to begin your vacation, thereโll be a special line you can use to check in as a priority, helping you to get onto the ship even faster.ย

To be clear, you arenโt guaranteed to be assigned an early boarding time, so it doesnโt mean that youโre guaranteed to be one of the very first people on the ship. Instead, it means that you get to fast-track the queues within your allotted boarding time.
So it is good, because nobody likes to hang around in the cruise terminal for a long time, but donโt confuse priority check-in with priority boarding.
This perk is a little confusing, because while Club Orange does give you priority access to make speciality dining reservations, itโs only when youโre onboard. And itโs possible to book speciality restaurants before you cruise. So itโs recommended that you book before you sail anyway, if you want to make sure you secure a table at your restaurants of choice.

Onboard the ship, thereโs a priority line for Club Orange members, so if you do have any problems or need assistance with any part of your cruise while onboard, you shouldnโt be waiting long. A minor perk since you may not need to make use of it, but a useful one if you are in need of Guest Servicesโ help.

Club Orange members also get to use a priority line for the shore excursions desk, so youโll be able to get fast access to excursions when onboard (ideal if there are last-minute cancellations for popular excursions you missed out on) or if you need to cancel any bookings yourself.
While most ports that Holland America ships visit have a pier where the ship will dock, some arenโt able to accommodate ships in this way. In those instances, the ship will anchor off the coast and then use smaller tender boats to get guests ashore.ย

Club Orange members get priority access to the tenders to shore, so you can explore the port sooner. However, the guests who book a shore excursion through Holland America will get the top priority, so if youโre just exploring the port on your own (or youโve booked excursions with a third-party company), youโll be waiting a little while still.
Also, you wonโt get priority when returning to the ship. Youโll have to queue at the port along with everyone else.
On the final day of your cruise, Club Orange members are able to get priority disembarkation, allowing them to be among the first off the ship. While you may prefer to remain on the ship as long as possible for a leisurely breakfast, many prefer to beat the crowds, especially if they need to get a taxi to the airport or are driving out from a busy car park.
Guests with Club Orange have access to an expanded breakfast room service menu, which is available 24/7. Iโll cover the menu in detail below.

Club Orange guests also get to enjoy a private dining venue on their ship. On the Pinnacle-class ships (Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam) this is a completely separate dining room, whereas on other ships in the fleet, it will be a reserved area of the main dining room.

One of the biggest perks of the Club Orange package is that guests will receive a complimentary stateroom upgrade. This doesnโt mean jumping from an Inside room to a Balcony room though; it means getting an upgrade within the category that youโve booked โ so if youโve booked a Balcony, youโll get an upgraded Balcony.
If there are no upgrades available, the terms state that an alternative perk will be offered.

Club Orange guests have access to a Concierge service onboard. The Concierge can handle a wide range of requests for you, such as booking your shore excursions or handling your dining reservations, leaving you free to relax and enjoy more of your cruise.

On embarkation day, guests with Club Orange will be greeted with a glass of sparkling wine, or a non-alcoholic alternative if they prefer. A small touch, but a nice way to feel special on your arrival.

Guests with Club Orange will enjoy more plush bathrobes in their staterooms, making their cruise more comfortable. Theyโre upgraded quality compared to the regular bathrobes offered, and while you donโt get to keep them by default, you do have the option of buying them and even having them monogrammed.

Your room keycard will be a special Club Orange one, to let you show off your status as a Club Orange member, and youโll also receive a special Club Orange tote bag in your cabin, although it will be one per cabin, not one per person.

On every cruise, all Club Orange members are invited to a special event as chosen by the Captain on board. These events vary, but could include a tour of the backstage areas of the ship, a chat with the shipโs entertainers over coffee, or a private consultation at the Greenhouse Spa & Salon.
Club Orange guests can enjoy expanded menus for breakfast and dinner, along with a wider choice of options for room service breakfast.
Things that youโll find on the Club Orange room service breakfast menu, that arenโt available on the regular menu, include:
For breakfast and dinner in the Club Orange restaurant venue, the menu is only marginally expanded with one or two additional options and these vary every day, so you arenโt missing out on much if you decide not to go for Club Orange.

Guests booking either a Neptune Suite or Pinnacle Suite already get all the perks of Club Orange, except for the complimentary stateroom upgrade which is not available to them anyway. So these suite guests donโt need to purchase Club Orange.
Read more: Holland Americal Line Suite Benefits
Choosing a Neptune or Pinnacle Suite gets you an even longer list of perks than Club Orange can offer, though the best perks are those that Club Orange gets. So Club Orange can be a nice way for non-suite guests to experience a touch of the suite experience.
Youโll also get some of the same perks when you join the Mariner Society, which is Holland Americaโs loyalty program, although only when you start to reach the upper tiers by cruising for 200 days with the cruise line, or 100 days in a suite.
Club Orange costs $25 per person, per day for cruises up to 13 days, and $15 per person, per day for cruises of 13 days or more. It has to be purchased for the entire cabin, but only the first two guests in a cabin must pay, so per cabin it costs $50 per day or $30 per day, depending on cruise length.
That means that, for a cruise lasting 7 days, Club Orange will cost an additional $350. It also means that itโs cheaper to book Club Orange for a 14-night cruise ($30 x 14 = $420) than it is to book it for a 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13-day cruise, since they cost between $450 and $650.
While the first two guests are eligible to pay for Club Orange, all guests will get to make use of the benefits, so it becomes an even better value on a per-person basis if youโre cruising with four guests in one cabin.
Also, itโs worth noting that Club Orange can only be purchased before you sail; you canโt pay for it once youโve got on the ship. Of course, by that time youโd have missed out on some of the perks anyway, such as priority check-in and likely the priority booking for speciality restaurants.
Donโt miss the latest Holland America Line offersโฆ
Club Orange is not cheap, although if youโre sailing with Holland America, you will likely have paid a premium cruise fare already anyway, and so compared to the total cost of your cruise, the Club Orange cost may not be too much extra to add on.
Whether or not itโs worth it depends entirely on how much youโll make use of the additional perks. The expanded menus and private dining venues are nice to have, but if youโre going to order from the regular menu anyway, then the perk is redundant.
The priority access perks are useful, especially if youโre someone who likes to be first to get on or off the ship. But you could manage without them if you wanted to save a few hundred dollars.
The sparkling wine, premium bathrobes, tote bag and keycard are just nice small touches. On their own, they arenโt worth the cost, but as part of the whole package, they are pleasant extras to sweeten the deal.
And then the stateroom upgrade and event invitation are good perks, but once again, think about whether you need them.
I do think you get a lot included with Club Orange โ more than some other cruise lines offer as part of these types of bonus packages. But I also think that the cost can get quite high, especially on those 9-13 day itineraries. So think hard about whether Club Orange offers good value to you, based on your own cruise preferences.

For over a century, the Titanic has rested silently on the ocean floor โ a haunting relic of one of historyโs most infamous disasters.
Submarine expeditions to the wreckage have revealed that parts of the ship remain eerily intact, but time is running out. With rapid decay already setting in, experts warn the wreck may soon crumble beyond recognition.

So, could the Titanic ever be raised? Would lifting it preserve a vital piece of history โ or is it simply impossible?
In this article, weโll explore the science, the challenges, and the truth behind the question that still fascinates the world: Will the Titanic ever rise again?
While the Titanic itself has not been raised, thousands of artefacts from the wreck have been retrieved and preserved. This includes personal items of the passengers, parts of the ship, dinnerware, and even a section of the hull.
I recently visited The Titanic Exhibition in Bristol and saw lots of things that had been brought up from the bottom of the ocean, like this window frameโฆ

Since 1985, when the wreck was located, RMS Titanic Inc., the company that has the salvage rights to the Titanic, has conducted several expeditions to retrieve artefacts.
These artefacts are displayed in various exhibitions and Titanic Museums around the world, such as Orlando, Las Vegas, London and Sweden.
One of the largest pieces ever recovered is a section of the shipโs hull known as the โBig Piece.โ
It was brought to the surface in 1998 during an expedition led by RMS Titanic Inc. The section is approximately 12 by 26 feet (3.7 by 7.9 meters) and weighs about 15 tons.
However, the salvage of these items has not been without controversy. Many believe that the wreck site should be left undisturbed out of respect for those who lost their lives in the disaster.
Raising the whole of the Titanic from the bottom of the ocean wouldnโt be possible for several logistical reasons.
The Titanic lies approximately 12,500 feet (2.37 miles, 3.81 kilometres) below the oceanโs surface. At this depth, the pressure is more than 370 times greater than at sea level, making operations incredibly challenging.
This photo of a styrofoam cup that was taken down to the Titanic in a net bag demonstrates just how great the force of the water is when you venture so deep into the oceanโฆ

The Titanic was a massive ship, measuring about 882 feet (269 meters) in length and weighing approximately 52,310 tons. Lifting an object of this size and weight from such a depth would require technology and resources beyond what currently exists.

Suggested read: Icon of the Seas Vs Titanic
Over a century in the salty, high-pressure environment of the deep ocean has left the Titanicโs steel structure extremely fragile. The process of lifting the ship could very likely cause it to disintegrate.
The Titanic is not intact โ itโs broken into two main pieces and surrounded by a large debris field. The bow and stern are about 600 meters (2,000 feet) apart and would have to be raised separately, increasing the complexity of the task.

The expense of such an operation would be astronomical, likely running into billions of dollars.
Given the points above, itโs highly doubtful that any organisation or government would be willing to undertake such a cost for a venture fraught with so many potential difficulties.
Of course, logistics are not the only reasons why the Titanic hasnโt and will likely never be raised. The idea also brings several ethical considerations to the forefront. Here are the things that we must considerโฆ
The Titanic is the final resting place for over 1,500 people. Many people believe that, out of respect for the deceased and their descendants, the site should not be disturbed.
It is viewed by many as a maritime grave that deserves the same respect and sanctity we afford to land-based cemeteries.
The wreck of the Titanic is a significant archaeological site, and its context at the bottom of the ocean provides valuable historical information.
Most archaeologists believe that the Titanic and its artefacts should be preserved in situ. They argue that the focus should be on conservation and documentation rather than physical removal.
Removing items from the site can disrupt this context and has even been described as historical vandalism.

There are concerns that raising the Titanic or its artefacts can lead to their commercial exploitation. Artefacts can be sold to the highest bidder and many Titanic exhibitions make large profits. The Titanic Museum in Belfast made ยฃ4.2m of profits in 2019 alone.
Critics argue that this commodifies a human tragedy and disrespects the memory of those who lost their lives.
Some people argue that the resources used to raise the Titanic could be better spent on other pursuits, such as preserving other historical sites, advancing scientific research, or addressing social needs.
When so many people are struggling to afford food or to heat their homes, spending billions on raising a shipwreck would be very hard to justify.

The allure of the Titanic remains powerful and continues to captivate the collective imagination. However, the complexities of raising the ship from the ocean floor are vast.
The impossible logistical challenges and a host of ethical considerations suggest that the Titanic will forever remain where it sank on that fateful night in 1912.
As technology advances, we may find new ways to explore and learn from this poignant historical site without disturbing its rest. But, as to the question of whether the Titanic will ever be raised, the consensus, as it stands today, is a resounding โnoโ.
The Titanic, it seems, is destined to remain an emblem of human ambition and tragic loss, silently holding court at the bottom of the ocean.

In a move that ends a popular money-saving workaround, Royal Caribbean has officially eliminated all personalised exceptions to its beverage package policy as of 1st August 2025.
For years, the cruise line maintained a rule that all guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom must purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package if one person does โ but unofficially, some flexibility existed.
Previously, guests could call customer service and request an exemption, citing personal reasons such as medical conditions, religious beliefs, or personal drinking preferences.
In response, one guest might be allowed to buy the Refreshment Package (non-alcoholic) or the soda package, rather than the full Deluxe Package.
These exceptions were never guaranteed, but widely known โ and widely used.
That quiet workaround has now been shut down.
The cruise line cited package sharing abuse as the primary reason for ending the policy.
โBeginning August 1, Royal Caribbean will no longer be able to grant exceptions to our policy that both guests in a stateroom must purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package,
โOver time, requests for exceptions have increased, and sharing of packages has continued, which led us to implement this policy change,โ
Royal Caribbean statement
This update will increase costs for many couples or groups who previously relied on the exemption. For instance, on a 7-night cruise:
If one guest previously substituted a Refreshment Package instead of a second Deluxe Package, a couple could save as much as $490 on a 7-night trip.

With those savings now off the table, all adults must buy in or go without.
Fortunately, there are still ways to reduce drink expenses onboard, even without exemptions:
For light or moderate drinkers, simply paying a la carte may result in lower total costs than committing to a full package.
My drinks package calculator can help you work out whether it makes financial sense for you to book a package or pay a la carte.
Royal Caribbean often offers pre-cruise discounts on drink packages โ sometimes up to 50% off, though more commonly itโll be around 35-40%.
Booking online ahead of your sailing is often cheaper than waiting until you board.
Each day, many Royal ships offer discounted cocktails or drinks, typically posted at bars around the ship.
Donโt forget that iced tea, lemonade, fruit-flavoured water, morning juices, regular coffee, hot tea, and hot cocoa are free and available at most drink stations throughout the ship.
There are other ways you could nab yourself a free drink too โ including attending an art auction.

And you can always bring your own soft drinks too โ up to 12 cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom on boarding day.
Royal Caribbean is cracking down on beverage package abuse, and while it may frustrate some loyal cruisers, the cruise line has made it clear: the policy is final and no exceptions will be made.
Guests are encouraged to plan ahead and consider all available options to stay hydrated and happy โ without overspending.

Guests aboard Celebrity Constellation faced an unexpected ordeal on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, after the cruise ship experienced a significant technical malfunction, leaving it without power and adrift off the coast of southern Italy.

The incident occurred during an 11-night one-way sailing from Ravenna to Rome, which departed on Monday, 28th July.
After visiting ports in Croatia and Montenegro, the ship was due to enjoy a sea day en route to Messina, Sicily, where arrival was scheduled for Sunday morning at 8 am.
Instead, satellite tracking showed the Millennium-class vessel drifting at just 1โ2 knots (approximately 1.1โ2.3 mph) for more than two hours, well below cruising speed and far too slow to maintain the planned itinerary, had the issues continued.
At the time, the ship was roughly 25 miles east-southeast of Crotone, in the Ionian Sea.
Guests onboard reported a complete loss of power: no lights, no air conditioning, toilets not functioning, and only cold food available for dinner.
โOne hour in and itโs HOT,โ one passenger noted, referencing the warm August temperatures in the region.
Conditions inside staterooms and other interior spaces quickly became uncomfortable due to the lack of ventilation.
Some guests likened the experience to the infamous โpoop cruiseโ incident involving Carnival Triumph in 2013, which was later featured in a Netflix documentary.
However, unlike that situation, power on Celebrity Constellation was restored after roughly two hours, and no reports of escalating sanitation issues have surfaced.
According to unverified reports on Reddit, guests onboard were offered a free drink and 24 hours of free WiFi access as an apology for the inconvenience.

The ship was able to accelerate once power was restored, and it made it to Messina for its next scheduled port visit on 3rd August 2025.
The Celebrity Constellation blackout comes just weeks after a separate technical issue disrupted operations aboard Celebrity Beyond, the lineโs flagship Edge-class vessel.
On 13th July 2025, Celebrity Beyond suffered a propulsion system failure during a Caribbean cruise, delaying its return to Miami and ultimately forcing the cancellation of the following voyage, scheduled to depart 20th July. The ship was diverted to Freeport, Bahamas, for emergency repairs.
While it resumed service on 27th July, the vessel has not returned to full operational speed.
Celebrity Cruises has since confirmed that Beyond is now sailing under โreduced sailing speedโ as a precaution, resulting in itinerary changes for at least eight 7-night cruises between August and October 2025.
Adjustments include earlier departure times, altered port calls, and occasional port swaps โ though the number of destinations visited remains largely intact.
No onboard service issues have been reported, and the ship remains fully seaworthy. However, a complete return to normal cruising speed may not occur until the vesselโs next scheduled dry dock in November 2026 โ unless an earlier session is arranged.
As Celebrity works to maintain guest satisfaction amid these mechanical setbacks, the back-to-back disruptions aboard Beyond and Constellation may raise broader concerns about the fleetโs resilience during peak travel season.
At the time of writing, the cruise line has not released an official statement regarding the nature of the technical failure.
Power losses of this type are sometimes linked to electrical faults or engine room incidents, but no confirmation has been given.
Engineering teams onboard would have initiated emergency repair protocols to restore power and assess the root cause.
Celebrity Cruises would also have remained in close communication with local maritime authorities throughout the situation.
Celebrity Constellation, launched in 2002, is one of the older ships in the Celebrity Cruises fleet.
Weighing in at 90,940 gross tons, she can accommodate 2,184 guests and approximately 1,000 crew members.
Guests booked on upcoming Celebrity Constellation voyages may wish to keep an eye out for official updates from Celebrity Cruises should any long-term mechanical issues arise from this incident.

River cruise packing is all about balance. You want to be light but prepared. You want flexibility without packing too much luggage. There is little room in the cabin, plenty of days on shore, and iffy weather depending on your destination.
Itโs not ocean cruising, where you laze at sea for days on end. River cruising is constant movement; one quaint port after another. Youโre walking more, covering cobbled towns, and dressing up for everything from castles to countryside.
So hereโs how to pack smart and the one gadget people actually use once onboard.
River cruises can expose you to several microclimates within a few days. One day youโre engulfed in fog, and the next youโre lounging on the sundeck. The trick? Bring layers of clothing.ย
Consider breathable tops, lightweight sweaters, and a water-resistant shell jacket.
Steer clear of heavy coats. Instead, pack a fleece or insulated vest that provides heat without taking up suitcase space. A pair of trousers or two, a day-to-night dress, and neutral-hued tops you can swap are sufficient.
Packing cubes may look like an added hassle, but they are a cruise game-changer. Cabins rarely have much storage, and these cubes allow you to slide clothing into drawers or shelves without unpacking your entire bag.
Divide the cubes up by tops, bottoms, sleep or swimwear, and undergarments. Everything is neat and easy to access.
Bring what you know youโll need. Most cruise ships stock basic shampoo and body wash. Bring your own if youโre fussy, but have small sizes. Moisturizer with SPF, face wipes, deodorant, toothpaste, and a small brush will see you through.
Medication? Pack enough to last you for your journey, and a few extra items. You might include motion sickness tablets, painkillers, and any you think you may need for general discomfort. A neat little zippered case contains it all and is easy to find.
Youโll be walking a lot. Old towns, hilly paths, castle stairs. One good pair of walk-around shoes is a must. The second pair can be a bit dressier but still comfortable, such as loafers or dinner slip-ons.ย
Steer clear of heels, new shoes, or anything you โmightโ wear. If it canโt make it into your weekly rotation at home, it wonโt make the cut on the road either.
Even if your schedule doesnโt shout โpoolside vacationโ, pack one. Most river cruise boats have tiny pools or saunas. And a few shore excursions may feature a thermal spa or the opportunity to wade into a lake or river. Swimsuits occupy zero luggage space. Pack one if you donโt, and youโll be sorry.
For walking tours and town visits, pack a compact day bag. Youโll need space for a refillable water bottle, your passport if required, a lightweight rain jacket, and maybe a notebook or e-reader.
If photography is your passion, donโt carry a DSLR unless you actually use it. Your phone likely suffices. But do pack a charging bank. Some adventures are day-long, and you donโt want to miss that sunset photograph because your battery ran out at lunch.
Most travel accessories? Gimmicks. That neck pillow? Too cumbersome. That pocket fan? Adorable but useless on a windy deck. Noise-canceling headphones? Theyโre great for flights but not so much for a river cruise. Most of these gadgets will never make it out of your bag during the cruise.ย
But one gadget that quietly makes itself useful by keeping you cool-headed, centered, and altogether present is almost overlooked. If you havenโt guessed it yet, it is a dry herb vaporizer.ย
Because hereโs the reality: new surroundings, hectic agendas, and social contact can exhaust you. Even on a tranquil cruise, you may feel overwhelmed or tense. And thatโs when a stress reduction tool like Venty Vaporizer comes in handy. You can read about its features and what it does in the Venty review.ย
The Venty vaporizer is small, travel-sized, and when responsibly used, can facilitate stress relief through individual relaxation routines. It doesnโt beep or buzz or make you pay attention. It just assists you in calming your nerves and rebooting, whether itโs prior to a group tour or following a lengthy day of walking.
Itโs not for every person, but if you have trouble with travel anxiety or overthinking, this little, quiet friend may be the one thing you pull out more than once.
River cruise packing is less about technique and more about attitude. Itโs about questioning: will I employ this? Does this simplify my trip, lighten the load, make me more comfortable? If the response isnโt a resounding yes, eliminate it. But of course, do not forget to carry your dry herb vaporizer because thatโs one gadget that will keep your anxiety and stress at bay during the entire cruise.
