A luxury cruise ship has had to skip a day in port, after protestors used their own small boats to block the ship.
Seven Seas Voyager – owned by Regent Seven Seas – had been due to dock in the French port of Concarneau on 6th July.
However, around 20 activists from two protest groups – Stop Cruises BZH Collective, and Extinction Rebellion – used their own boats to stop the ship from reaching the port.
While the groups have previously demonstrated against luxury cruise ships, they had previously only been able to delay ships in port – this is the first time they’ve forced a cancelled visit.
“No cruise liners called at Concarneau today. For us, that’s a success because we’re fighting against luxury cruise ships. We think they’re an ecological absurdity and a symbol of social inequality.”
An unnamed protestor, speaking to French newspaper Ouest France.
The enforced cancellation of the port visit at the very last minute would no doubt have disappointed the guests onboard, but the captain and pilot would never take risks in these situations just to get guests ashore.
The crew did try to find a safe route, but it was impossible to get around the small boats, one of which held up a sign reading “We’re the iceberg”, in reference to the Titanic.
Earlier this year, a similar demonstration was held in France, this time at Douarnenez.
Silversea Cruises’ Silver Wind was trying to dock, and it was able to, but the crew had to limit the number of passengers going ashore for safety reasons.
An in 2022, a petition was started by the mayor of Marseille to put an end to pollution from ships. It received 50,000 signatures, around 6% of the city’s population.
Cruise lines are making changes to improve their sustainability, including cleaner fuels and a move to using shore power where possible, allowing engines to be switched off while ships are docked.

A passenger on a P&O cruise has shared a horrible ‘bingo’ card that was posted in their cabin’s pigeonhole, which mocks several guests on the ship.
The passenger on P&O’s Azura has confirmed that it was not a targeted attack, as they also found other ‘bingo cards’ in public areas.
The slip of paper was titled “CRUISE SHIP BINGO” and asked guests how many of these they could spot:
Big fat fatties waddling around
Gigantic horrid tattoos
Ferocious sunburn
Buffet plates heaped full of food
Drinking before noon
Unruly brats who can’t behave
The customer took the paper to the Guest Services desk to complain about it, but the response was muted, with the crew thanking the customer for the feedback.
It will of course be a cruel prank by a disgruntled passenger who perhaps feels like the guests aren’t allowed to be tattooed or overweight.
While the post on Facebook sharing the slip has since been deleted, several cruisers commented on the rude nature of note, saying that it was “disgusting”.
I agree – I was shocked when I saw this!
If you’re ever on a cruise and you feel like you’re being harassed or mocked by other passengers, just let the crew know.
Hopefully, P&O did something more about this prankster too – they’ll have been able to find the culprit using security footage, after all.

Traveling gives a smooth escape from the daily routine to experience the world in a new way. You get an opportunity to unwind, relax, reenergize, and get ready to tackle new activities in life. Traveling is a hobby for many. However, everyone can take a vacation from time to time to enjoy. Some travel alone, while others bring along friends or family members.
There are various means of transport for people planning vacations. Flights and personal family vehicles are common. A cruise is even more fulfilling. If you have not been on a cruise vacation before, consider it for your next plan. It gives you an amazing experience worth every coin you pay.
Here are reasons why cruising is a better option for a fun vacation.
Cruising Is Convenient for Family Vacations
Vacations happen once in a long time for most people. Such an opportunity is good for the entire family, and this is where cruises work best. They have a big space and convenient facilities that favor all the family members at different ages. There is no need to worry about your children; they will enjoy different facilities on board and create long-lasting memories to recount. The 10-year-old or a teenager in your family can have fun during the day and enjoy different activities such as swimming available on board. Parents can go to a cool corner at night to enjoy a romantic dinner or a fun time together while their children are safe on board.
Cruising Is Cheaper
Everyone works with a budget when it comes to vacations. You do not want to spend more than what you budgeted for. Just like companies such as grademiners writing service would give cheap yet quality services to their clients, different cruise agents are out to help people make the most out of their vacations at a minimal cost. From various cruise agents, you will learn about diverse cruise budgets and peruse to choose what works for your family best.
What makes cruising even cheaper is that you pay once and enjoy a wide variety of activities simultaneously, from accommodations to entertainment and food. Sometimes, children can sail at discounted rates as they share cabins with the adults accompanying them.
Different lines also have different pricing, which you may need to check before booking your ticket. Also, plenty of budget cruises are available online to peruse as you choose what best suits you.
Cruises Have a Variety of Fun Activities on Board
Unlike traveling by flight, where you have to sit almost the entire time, cruises have multiple fun activities to enjoy on board. You can escape to a quiet corner and enjoy reading your favorite novel or basking in a warm deck.
Young people can enjoy watching movies, swimming, and other activities on the ship. Live performance art, bars, nice restaurants, and sports arenas are all available on the ship to make the journey most memorable for people of all ages.
Cruises Give a Good Platform for Socializing
Most people love to go on vacations where they can socialize and make new friendships. Cruising provides such good platforms for social activities. Before choosing a specific line, research to learn more about the services offered. Here, reviews can be helpful. Grademiners review helps professionals to understand the services the company offers.
Finding reviews on various cruise lines will help you learn about the different services to expect on the cruise and how you can utilize them to your advantage.
Many people have found their long-term friends or mates on cruise trips. It means you can socialize on purpose and spend more time learning about your new friends. You can create long-term friendship and interesting memories.
Cruise Travels Are Easy to Plan
Most vacations get complicated at the planning stage because of travels between destinations and accommodation logistics. However, cruise travel is easy to plan since the package you pay for includes accommodations. There is no need to worry about the hotel to book and how fast you can move between the hotels to your desired locations.
Also, there is no need for extra traveling between destinations; as you sail around, you can stop at various destinations, thus reducing commuting costs. Some airlines have pre-organized means of getting to different destinations as their clients step aboard to enjoy different sceneries.
Multiple Destinations in a Single Travel
Cruising is like going to multiple destinations in a seamless vacation. As you sail to your main destination, you will step aboard various ports in different cities, allowing you to enjoy a foreign world without necessarily planning for it. Moreover, you do not have to think about accommodation at the different ports you stop along the way.
Cruising gives an easy and comfortable way to view the world’s most alien and fascinating features. You might have researched online for some natural features you need to see and places to visit. But, as you sail on, you get to experience them effortlessly.
Cruising Is Mind Calming
Sailing on a ship enables one to have an experience out of this world. The gentle rocking of the sea or ocean water is mind-calming. If quietness is your thing, you can escape to the serenity deck and enjoy a cool time with a mind-calming view of the sky or the sea. The vast facilities such as spas, restaurants, gyms, theatres, and swimming pools are suitable for enjoyment and stress-relieving experience.
Cruise vacations are the most fun and deep explorative moments one can wish to enjoy in a lifetime. It is designed to make people of all ages happy. It is suitable for individuals and teams that want to enjoy a vacation in a unique and easy style.
Cruises come with different fun packages for accommodation, entertainment, food, good ship attendants, and more, which makes your onboard experience exceptional. A ship is like a floating, beautiful city with multiple luxuries for an ideal vacation. Anytime you want to unwind, feel stress-free, and enjoy exotic experiences in different cities, choose cruising.
While going on a road trip may seem like the best option with a student’s budget, cruise trips can also be a fantastic option. However, the assumption that cruise trips are often luxurious and expensive limits most students from going on their dream cruise vacations. Nonetheless, with proper planning, cruising on a budget is possible. Cutting down on costs during a cruise trip goes beyond getting the cheapest fare. You can save money during and after your cruise trips using the following tips.
Find Student Discounts
Most dealings involving students normally have student discounts. For instance, writing services like payforessay.net offer discounts to make it less burdensome for students to buy papers. So, before going on a cruise, look for discounts to help you cut costs. Most cruise ships may have discounts specifically for students. Additionally, travel agencies also have special discounted packages for students. Therefore, you visit various travel agencies or cruise ship websites and compare the prices and any offers available. Before settling for a travel date or the cruise ship, ensure you compare the prices and the offers available under the package to ensure you do not miss a better deal elsewhere. Furthermore, you can utilize loyalty programs to lower costs. If you take cruise trips frequently using a specific cruise line, you can sign up for their loyalty program to get discounted prices and other perks each time you want to travel.
Book the Inside Cabins
While having the ocean view from your room may be nice, you can still have a swell time with an interior cabin. You will rarely be in the room since they will only be for changing and sleeping, and you may not enjoy the balcony or ocean view from your room as much despite the cost. If you are going on a cruise trip with your friends, it is best to get the interior cabin since most of the time will be spent exploring other amenities and socializing. However, check various cruise ship deals before booking since you can find affordable deals on balcony rooms.
Buy Things for Something Other Than the Cruise Trip
Looking good and taking pictures for your socials during a cruise trip is essential, but do not break the bank by buying new outfits and accessories for your trip. Instead, you can work with what you have in your wardrobe to cut down on costs. If you do not have a cocktail dress for the cruise dinner, the logical step is to find an alternative formal attire to suit the occasion. Setting aside a whole shopping budget can be costly and may limit your expenditure during your cruise trip.
Pack Smart
When packing for your cruise trip, ensure you include all essential items to avoid making purchases on the cruise ship. Some of the prices of items sold on the ship may be exorbitant and may overstretch your budget. Make a packing list to ensure you do not forget items such as toiletries, first aid kits, and attires for themed nights.
Additionally, if you often struggle with seasickness, it is essential to carry enough medication to last the duration you will be on the cruise ship. Some cruise lines also allow travelers to bring limited non-alcoholic drinks, wine, or champagne. You should take advantage of such offers to avoid buying expensive beverages on the cruise ship. If you are going on the boat with your friends, ensure each of you carries at least two bottles of wine to ensure you have enough supply to last through the cruise trip period.
Be Smart About the Excursions
The excursions on a cruise trip usually wrap up the experience, so you cannot afford to miss out on them. However, some are generally expensive and may overstretch your budget; thus, you need to be smart about how you go about them. The best way to save money on excursions is by paying for them independently instead of using the cruise line, but ensure you return to the ship on time. Additionally, carry your kits for different activities. For example, having snorkeling gear will help you cut costs on renting one on the beach, which usually costs almost the same as buying a new one in the stores.
Choose Off-Peak Travel
Budget-Friendly Cruise Tips for Students 7
Traveling during the off-peak season is an old trick that always works. During off-peak travel, prices usually drop, and you can go for your dream cruise trip at an affordable cost. Some of the best periods to go on a cruise trip are early spring or late fall. During this time, students are either winding up their semester or preparing for a new academic year, and thus, you will find that not many people are traveling. During summer, however, most people are on break from school and prefer to go on vacation. Going for your cruise trip during the off-peak season allows you to enjoy the best amenities at an affordable price.
Take Advantage of Free Activities

When you want to buy essay, one hack for reducing the cost of the paper is to pick a service that offers freebies like free revisions. Apply the same trick when cruising to minimize costs. Cruise ships often offer some complimentary services for every guest. Therefore, before settling in, it is best to inquire if there are some free activities you can indulge in to ensure you do not leave the ship to pay for them elsewhere. For example, pool and gym access are usually accessible on most ships. Utilizing these complimentary amenities will help you save, and you can redirect the money to other aspects of your vacation, such as exciting excursions.
Parting Shot
You should not anticipate an extraordinary experience during your cruise; instead, aim to have fun, relax, and get a little sun.
Having high expectations often makes one stretch their budget. Going on a cruise trip isn’t as unattainable as most students would assume. Proper budgeting allows you to enjoy a cruise trip without breaking the bank. From making early bookings to taking advantage of student discounts, you can enjoy your trip without overstretching.
Most ships make money from people’s purchases, hence the exorbitant prices. Therefore, pack all the essentials to ensure you do not spend much money buying basic items.
Are you thinking about going on a cruise as one big happy family? Cruise ships usually offer a variety of entertainment and activities suitable for all ages. In addition, the family time shared while exploring new places, participating in various activities, or just lounging by the pool provides that perfect opportunity to make lifelong memories and reinforce your family’s bond.
As a parent, however, it is your job to ensure the kids are safe while having fun. That’s why we have these easy hints that should keep your family safe and make your cruise adventure enjoyable with great memories.
You don’t need to be a research paper writer or an expert investigator to investigate the cruise line’s safety record and any incidents in recent years. You just need to review professional sites that track statistics on things like crew training, safety drills, and evacuation readiness. You’ll relax once you know the cruise ship meets high safety standards.
Additionally, most transporters have detailed emergency plans and dedicated safety areas. Find out where these muster stations are located and what procedures to follow. Ask about life jackets – are they stowed in each cabin? Having this info beforehand prepares you for any unexpected situations while onboard the ship.
Teach Basic Water Safety Skills
Kids love splashing around pools and water parks on cruise ships. But before letting them loose, teach basic swimming skills. It’s never too early to start water safety lessons because babies can get comfortable with water from a young age.
At the very minimum, ensure kids know:
How to float and tread water
Never run near pools
Always ask for supervision before entering the water
Even strong swimmers need a reminder about cruise ship pools and hot tubs. Go over rules like:
No diving in shallow areas
No roughhousing or pushing others in the water
Obey all posted signs and lifeguard instructions
Make sure young ones understand the importance of using properly fitted vests for activities like snorkeling or boating excursions.
Monitor Alcohol Consumption
Alcohol and cruise ships often go hand-in-hand. But too much of a good time can quickly turn dangerous, especially near railings and open deck areas. Alcoholic beverages tend to lower inhibitions and impair judgment. As a result, that railing you’re leaning on may suddenly look like just the place for showing off your dance steps or taking a daring selfie.
So keep a close eye on your drinking when hanging out on the pool deck or balcony, or better yet, set limits and drink responsibly, especially in precarious areas. Designate a sober friend to keep everyone in check. And if someone has had too much, don’t let them wander off alone near railings or open decks. A little precaution allows you to enjoy your cruise without risking safety.
Establish a Meet-up Plan
Before you even step foot on the gangway, have a plan for meeting up with your group. Decide on a central location that everyone can easily find, like the main lobby. That way, if anyone gets separated, you have a designated spot to regroup.
Take it a step further and use the buddy system at all times. Pair them up and make sure buddies stick together, holding hands if needed. You can even use brightly colored lanyards or matching shirts to identify your group easily.
Teach Kids Emergency Info
Beyond staying together, make sure kids know key emergency info by heart – your names, cabin number, and the ship’s name. A simple rhyme or song can help them remember should they get separated. With some smart planning, you can relax and focus on the adventuring together.
Utilize Onboard Safety Resources
It may seem to take up valuable time, but the muster drill can provide information that could save your life. So, pay attention and take it seriously. The crew will demonstrate how to wear a life vest and inform you exactly where to go if they are forced to abandon the ship.
It could even become a family-wide activity. Have your kids answer questions about what they learned after the lesson. You will have peace of mind during your cruise vacation once everybody knows the safety plan.
Besides the muster drill, there will be important safety instructions in every stateroom; familiarize yourself with life jacket locations, emergency exits, and what “muster station” means. A little preparation makes for a safe and fun cruise.
Utilize the “Do Not Disturb” Sign
Cruise ships can be exciting, but all the activity and commotion can get overwhelming – especially for kids. That’s why utilizing the “Do Not Disturb” sign is a must for families who want some peace and quiet. The cabins are the only relief from the crowds and noise that come with many people living in close quarters. By putting up the “Do Not Disturb” sign, employees will know not to disturb you or your children.
Besides, young ones often need naps or early bedtimes to recharge. The presence of a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign guarantees uninterrupted sleep: no knocks at the door, no vacuuming in the hallways, and no noisy neighbors. This one act determines whether your child will be well-rested, happy, cranky, and overstimulated.
Most importantly, by using the sign, families can control when service staff enter the cabin, ensuring they are present and aware during any maintenance or cleaning activities. This helps prevent accidental situations where children might be alone with strangers or staff members.
Since knives are used frequently in the preparation of food, choosing the right one is crucial for anyone intent on using Knives Professionally, or yourself, if you are a lay cook. Having the right knife will benefit your culinary operations by simplifying functions, increasing effectiveness, and generally making a task more pleasant. Currently, there is new information emerging from different manufacturers with different types of blades, materials, brands, and designs of the trimmer, and it can be quite a daunting task for one to decide on the best trimmer for him or her. By following this guide, you will learn about the critical aspects you need to consider when purchasing the knife so that you settle for what you need depending on the cookery practice, material choices, and budget.
What is the Best Knife?
The best knife has some features that when put in place enhance its performance, durability, and satisfaction from the users. First and foremost, the quality of the blade is of top importance, and it must be made from a stainless or high-carbon steel material as this enables sharpness, corrosion protection, and easy maintenance. Edge retention is another essential feature that looks at how long the blade maintains an edge when in frequent use. Any good knife should also have a comfortable and ergonomic handle made out of materials such as G-10, Micarta, or hardwoods to ensure that one does not lose grip even after a long period of use. Stability also lies in the proportions and a good knife must be perfectly weighted to split the weight of the blade and the handle to allow control and prevent the user’s hand from getting tired. Further, the size or length of the blade must also tailored to specific functions as well as tasks including chopping, slicing, and filleting. Last but not least, it is important to speak about the craft and construction of a knife since a knife made with a good assembly will certainly beat a bad one. These qualities create a knife that slices and dices superbly, while also being a reliable cutter that will last longer.
How do We Buy the Best Knife? 2
Factors to Consider in Buying the Best Knife
There are a number of factors that must be taken into consideration to ensure that you obtain a knife that is good and has the potential to give you good service in the long run. Here are the key factors to consider:
Blade Material
A sword’s construction is vital for its efficiency and endurance; the metal of the blade is the primary determinant. While refined carbon steel is best known for its sharpness and edge retention, high-quality stainless steel and high-carbon steel are also used widely because they do not corrode.
Blade Edge
Blade thickness and the nature of the cutting edge (straight or staggered, of course, and with a phase) are significant for the efficiency of the knife in different applications. This is because a sharp edge significantly reduces the effort and accuracy needed in creating relatively clean cuts.
Handle Material and Ergonomics
The handle must be made from strong material such as G-10 or Micarta, wood or rubber combination with ease to grip and hold the knife. Convenience design minimizes the use or demand placed on one’s muscles and makes it easier to manage the product.
Balance and Weight
It may even be beneficial to consider knives with the right weight distribution so that there is more towards either the blade or the handle than the other way round so that users do not get fatigued easily in wielding their knives. Additionally, it should be pleasant and easy to hold in your hand like the knife you are using for the first time.
Blade Shape and Size
It’s applicable that the size and shape of the blade should correspond to the requirements of the tool. Cutting operations vary and each of them requires a particular blade design namely chopping, slicing, and filleting. Try to summarize which kind of tasks you will be utilizing the knife mostly for.
Edge Retention and Maintenance
The usefulness of a knife is also defined by the length of time in which it loses its sharpness, thus requiring honing. Furthermore, take into account the sharpness to which a knife easily sharpens after dulling and the frequency at which you are likely to need sharpening.
Construction and Build Quality
In assessing the construction of a knife, preferences can be made for weight and balance as well as for full tang (the blade features a tang that runs through the handle). The production of this product and other parts that constitute the car requires maximum assembly and quality materials.
Price and Value
Although choosing a muscle knife means sacrificing some frivolous characteristics and a democratic price, it is necessary to choose a knife that is worth the money spent. The choice of this tool is highly dependent on the characteristics that it has and the money that you are ready to spend on it.
Benefits of Buying the Best Knife
Acquiring the best knife is important because it covers all the needs for the consumers’ cooking or cutting needs they require. A good knife is long-lasting and will therefore not require sharpening very often hence reducing the chances of an accident. They are made of rugged materials that are not susceptible to rusting or getting worn out easily and therefore they will have a longer span of use. This is because an ideal knife must afford the user great ease holding it without stress on the hands and minimizes on such slicers and dicers leading to many mishaps. Having a proper knife selection on your hand will enhance the cooking experience, allow you to save money in the long term, and refrain from giving your best for a better outcome.
Conclusion
It is critical to understand several essential factors that will help identify the ideal knife depending on the individual choice. Through the properties of blade material, sharpness of the edge, ergonomic handle grip, overall balance, weight, blade contour and size, edge integrity, ease of maintenance, quality of construction, cost, worth, purpose of use, brand image, and the guaranty, one is in a better position to make his or her desired choice. Purchasing a versatile but excellent quality knife meant to suit your needs will improve your cooking experience, giving you durability, effectiveness, and satisfaction for the time ahead. For a chef or a master in the kitchen, it is integral to ensure that they have the right knives for cutting.

Carnival Cruise Line has three cruise ships scheduled to arrive and depart from Galveston over the next three days.
They are Carnival Breeze on July 11 and Carnival Dream and Carnival Jubilee on July 13.
As of right now, there have no been changes to these three sailings.
The Port of Galveston issued an update yesterday and said that roadways, including Harborside Drive, are now passable. While port vessel operations remain suspended, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship was allowed to dock yesterday for a turn-around day.
The port is encouraging all cruisers to stay in touch with their cruise line for the best updates regarding their cruise. They also said that there was no visible flooding at any of the port’s cruise parking lots.
Heald posted the following message that was sent to guests who are booked on these three upcoming Carnival sailings:
“Ahead of your upcoming cruise, we have an update. Our partners at the Port of Galveston continue their post-storm assessment, including an inspection of the cruise terminal.”
“At this time there is no indication that your cruise will be impacted, but if anything changes, we will advise our guests and travel advisor partners about our operations.”
Guests can sign up for free text alerts for these sailings by texting the following to CRUISE (278473):

Are you all set for your grand expedition? Lucky you! As you’ll learn, you have a weighty chore of packing conclusions pending that can either make your clang at sea more fun or catastrophe. Each jaunt is somewhat extraordinary.
One of the keys to packing is to prepare for the elements. This is no holiday akin to a beach rest. What’s the allowable clothing for the cruise? What shore flings are sketched? Your list for wise travel packing consists of essentials needed on your holiday. Don’t squander your time around the seaport obtaining these essentials and souvenirs.
The best part about a cruise journey is being able to sail with everything in your bag. The unpacking activity is only once you reach the ship. Anything from convertible clothes to comfortable items can always come in handy. In the list below, you will find everything you could wish for on your cruise.
Clothing
Your vacation means flexibility with your wardrobe. Bet on packing smart wear that transitions into casual for the day and evenings. As you might search for https://essayusa.com/ for unique writing styles, your fashion palette should segue from a loving beach outing to smart casual dinner wear. Here are essential clothing to always pack for any expedition:
Day Clothing
The first packing nightmare to go through is what you’ll wear during the day. Mostly during the day, athletic shorts, sneakers, sandals, or a neutral-colored tank top will suffice. Accessorize the entire ensemble with sunglasses, a hat, and a long-sleeved shirt in your bag.
Of course, the weather conditions of your destination determine your choice of closet. Load plenty of beachwear when cruising for a couple of snorkeling trips in Bahama or for Cozumel shrimp tacos. A Baltic cruise ship calls for layers. Pack a warm jacket and a lighter-weight jacket. Throw in a scarf when docking with boots and trainers.
Research your destination by checking the weather forecast well in advance. This gives a heads-up on what to expect and to plan accordingly. If your destination’s weather is unpredictable, we recommend versatile clothing like waterproof gear and layers.
Here are our top picks for a day outfit for the occasion:
Cropped trousers
White tees
Bucket hat
Blue jeans
Multi-faced skirt
Sundress
Linen button-down
Airy shirtdress
Slip dresses
Workout wear
Evening Clothing
Some luxurious voyages call for dinner wear, and some functions have a strict dress code. Therefore, don’t break the protocols by packing some smart casual wear for these occasions in advance. The evening wear can swing between resort casual or elegant.
We recommend a jumpsuit, a mesh long-sleeved dress, or a blazer outfit with denim for a date-night style. Guys have an easier pick from their closet, including chinos, an oxford shirt, or a suit-up dress-up.
Formal occasions call for abiding by etiquette rules with questions regarding dress length. The best option without a dress code is a tea or floor-length gown. A sophisticated look is possible with an A-line dress or a tailored, chic, formal suit. Finish it with elegant jewelry, high heels, and a braid bun or variations.
For men, try out a suit, dress shirt, tuxedo style, and tie combinations. Ensure your dress choice reflects your personality and the occasion to remain comfortable for hours. When selecting your outfit, consider seeking advice from style experts or consulting fashion bloggers from the best essay writing service for tips on formal wear etiquette.
Accessories and Gear
You can start to accessorize now that all your clothes are packed. Hats and sunglasses work best on sunny days. Bucket hats are good to go as they are the best sun ray covers. Experience the shade and yourself, and try a wide-brimmed hat for ultimate sun coverage over your entire face.
Opt for hats with a high UPF rating, which should be above 30. In your sunglass collection, you would consider wrap-around sunglasses as they offer great peripheral protection. Since wrap-around is a win for the gym and other outdoor activities, get a little retro with the cat-eye sunglasses, which provide a touch of glam and are still pretty versatile.
Cold weather trips need warm accessories such as a beanie, scarves, waterproof gear, or gloves. Pack enough winter accessories that add variety to your outfits. Ensure your selected outfits are waterproof and insulated.
Other selected accessories to carry along include:
Sunscreen SPF 50
Jewelry
Long ribbed knot scarf
Beanie hat
Down insulation rain jacket
Toiletries and Medicine
A cruise ship trip is not like a typical hotel visit where you need to pack shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body lotion. You will be provided with the most basic toiletries in your cabin. Those are usually of decent quality and are frequently replenished by housekeeping staff. However, we advise you to take your favorite sensitive toiletries if you use some special versions.
If you prefer certain brands or some specific types of cosmetics, pack them to stick with your style and comfort. If you are going to take a cruise, have the following toiletries and medicines packed, preferably in a carry-on bag:
What Not to Pack
As much as we’ve listed must-have items for your sail, there are other things to leave out. Most cruise lines out rightly ban other items. Here are items that aren’t necessary to carry along:
Towels
Clear extra space on your packing bags for towels and linens. You can use towels available in the cabins or even at the port. The housekeeping staff leaves a fresh batch of towels each evening upon your return.
Hand soap
Most sails have complimentary quality products in your cabin, including scented shower gel, body lotion, conditioner, shampoo, and hand soap. These products have a spa-like touch to them and help save space in your luggage.
Illegal drugs
Drugs and other banned substances are prohibited. This is the same for firearms. Even if narcotics or substances are declared illegal in the embarkation state, it remains prohibited to bring them on board.
Bottom Line
Don’t waste time packing unnecessary clothes or luggage; forget about the necessities. Refer to this list to ensure all essentials are covered with clothing, accessories, toiletries, medicine, and travel gear.

Guests will benefit from a seamless experience between the butlers’ service onboard and the excursion experts ashore as well as having the opportunity to relax and fully immerse themselves into each destination’s culture, cuisine and traditions.”

The biggest ship is Vista
The largest ship in Oceania Cruises’ fleet is the Vista, which can accommodate up to 1,200 guests and has a gross tonnage of 67,000.
Vista is the newest ship currently sailing in the Oceania fleet, and really is a work of art, showcasing the line’s commitment to luxury and innovation.
None of the ships are considered ‘large’
The maximum number of guests an Oceania Cruises ship can accommodate is 1,250, which applies to both Riviera and Marina, with the Vista just behind with a guest capacity of 1,200.
These three ships are significantly larger than the others in the fleet, making them perfect for guests looking for a high level of comfort and luxury, while still desiring a spacious ship with plenty to do on board.
Regatta-class ships are half the size!
The smallest ships in Oceania’s fleet are those of the Regatta class, which includes Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, and Sirena, each accommodating 684 guests.
These ships provide a more intimate and personalised cruising experience. Although they offer slightly less in terms of on-board entertainment and variety, if you’re looking for a smaller, quieter and more intimate cruise, they’re well worth considering.

So… Which is the best?
The answer to this question entirely depends on who you are and what you’re looking for from your cruise – every single ship in the Oceania fleet has been honed and detailed to perfection, and every single one goes to some of the most breathtaking destinations on Planet Earth.
The best way to understand what the best Oceania Cruises ship is for you is to instead answer this question:
What are you looking for from your Oceania Cruise?
Newer vs. Older Ships
Newer ships like the Vista (and the Allura from 2025 onwards) offer the very latest in design and technology, modern amenities and state-of-the-art facilities. They’re perfect for you if you appreciate contemporary luxury and new experiences.
Older ships, such as those in the Regatta class (Regatta, Insignia, Nautica and Sirena) have a classic charm and character that comes with age, but if you’re concerned that they’ll look tired, think again: they’re enhanced by frequent refurbishments.
Ships in the Regatta class often suit guests who prefer a more intimate and classic cruising experience, so if that’s you, you’ve got your answer.
Bigger vs. Smaller Ships
Bigger ships like Riviera, Marina and Vista (and Allura from 2025) offer a wide range of dining options, entertainment venues, and activities. They are ideal for those who enjoy a bustling atmosphere with plenty of things to do on board.
Smaller ships provide a more relaxed and intimate setting, with fewer passengers and a more personalised service. They are great for those who value tranquillity and a close-knit community feel during their voyage.
Don’t forget about the itinerary!
Clearly, the ship you opt for will play a significant role in your cruise experience, but it goes without saying that the itinerary is just as important.
Oceania Cruises is known for its diverse and immersive itineraries, which offer unique ports of call and extended stays that you’re unable to get from any other cruise line.
Whether you’re interested in exploring the historic cities of Europe, the vibrant cultures of Asia, or the stunning landscapes of the Caribbean, Oceania’s itineraries are designed to provide enriching travel experiences.
Understanding exactly what itinerary options you have available, in conjunction with choosing the ship that suits you best will ensure you experience the best possible cruise for you.
